      A gorgeous pair of shoes

After recently finding out that one of my very good friends works in a Kurt Geiger store I made the effort to go and see her and take advantage of her staff discount which was very kindly offered to me! She knows my love of shoes and has promised to keep me updated of all the new arrivals - that's if I haven't seen them on the website first! Knowing my taste in shoes she had already selected a few pairs that I would like and needless to stay I ended up spending a fortune on shoes.

A pair that were waiting for me are called Hollance and are classed in KG as an evening shoe which can sometimes be a tad misleading as some evening shoes can be worn all day everything if need be. However, Hollance are definitely an evening shoe and will definitely look out of place walking down a high street at 1pm in your local town! Much more suited to an evening event or out at a nice bar.

      What KG say:

"KG by Kurt Geiger Hollance is a glamorous evening shoe with glitter detailing adding a touch of sparkle. Featuring a plush satin upper with knot design, these are the perfect party shoes to get noticed in this season."

Hollance in my opinion are absolutely gorgeousand the satin detailing really makes the shoes. The rose pink satin goes over the foot and knots in the middle this contrasts very nicely with the deep grey satin strap which goes around the heel giving a slingback and is also knotted at the side. The satin is just as soft as one would expect and will not rub the feet as it is just too soft and it isn't too tight on the foot, giving a little room for your feet to breath and move around. The shoes are open toed and there is quite a lot of room for your toes not to be crushed.

The heel and platform are again a deep grey but have a glitter effect which give these already gorgeous shoes a bit of glitz and glamour. The glitter isn't particularly bright but more subtle which is great for that sultry look. The heel height is 13cm which although quite high the shoes do have a substantial platform which does balance out the heel and they don't feel that high although the high platform does take a bit of getting used to!

Needless to say as soon as I had put on these shoes and walked around in them and obviously posed in the mirror to see how they looked I was instantly hooked. The satin ribbon detailing is something that is quite unusual and that is what I like about the shoes. The fabric is silky smooth but will stain if you get anything on them which means you just have to be more cautious when wearing them. The deep grey and rose pink really compliment each other and I think that is why they are so unusual.

I've had my pair for nearly two months and have worn them quite a lot to various evenings out with friends and family and not once have they rubbed me. However, because the satin ribbon is soft it doesn't offer much support so if you do loose your footing for whatever reason they can knock you off balance quite quickly. This for me is the only downside to these shoes but what can you expect from ribbon?! They have never rubbed my feet even around the heel where the ribbon sits as this is generally where my feet can get rubbed. The heel and platform do take a little getting used to as the heel is a slim stiletto and the platform is quite high but after a while they are fine to walk on.

Hollance is available in grey, black or blue and are available from Kurt Geiger stockists both online and in store. They currently cost £95.00. These are from the KG range for Kurt Geiger which is the slightly cheaper (although some may disagree!) than the actual Kurt Geiger range. Fortunately for me I managed to get quite a good discount!

These shoes are definitely a firm favourite of mine and I like the fact that they are so unusual looking, what with the subtle glitter and soft satin detailing. They do need looking after to ensure the satin doesn't get stained but other than that they are actually quite comfortable to wear despite the high heel and platform! Definitely a recommendation for those wanting to glam up an outfit!
