I bought these simply for the fact that they were £25 at an outlet store and I wanted a new pair of white trainers anyway. I didn't buy them for sports or the gym and they were bought purely for wearing with jeans as I wanted something comfortable and stylish that was still casual.
I really liked the look of the trainers in the shop when I tried them on and the sizing seemed really good as the size 10 fit my feet perfectly.
They felt really comfortable when walking round the shop and they didn't pinch on my toes or feel tight and the soles seemed thick enough that they cushioned my soles and I thought they would be good for wearing when my feet had had enough of wearing canvas shoes and needed something a bit more sturdy.
The trainers are easily identifiable as being made by K-Swiss although the branding is quite subtle when compared to some other trainer manufacturers. There is the K-Swiss name on the tongue and again on the side but these are small and discrete. The way to tell that they are K-Swiss is by the 5 stripes on the side.
They are made from a combination of leather and a rubber sole so the materials used in their construction is good. They do look like good quality trainers when you touch them and the leather is thick and all the stitching of the tongue and the stripes is excellent with no loose threads and even after having them for absolutely ages nothing is loosening and the inside of the trainers hasn't split like what happens with so many of my trainers.
I didn't need to 'break' these in as they felt comfortable from the first time that I wore them. I was a little worried that the back of them would rub my heel as I have a problem with trainers doing this but they didn't. The sole is nice and thick and I can walk over all sorts of terrain without feeling stones and other bits of debris sticking into my feet.
I do think that they look really good just paired with a pair of dark jeans and this is how I would normally wear them. I wouldn't probably wear them with shorts as they are a bit bulky for that I think and I prefer to wear canvas shoes with shorts anyway.
Being predominately white they do look absolutely pristine when you first wear them but within a hour or two scuffs and other bits of dirt just seem to cling to them from nowhere. This always happens with white trainers no matter how careful I am with them. The one thing about the trainers which I don't like is that the leather on the front seems to be marked now and this happened really quickly from when I first started wearing the trainers. It just makes them look a bit scruffy which is a shame as they wash fantastically and come up looking really white again besides this one part.
I probably wouldn't pay the £50 to £60 that these normally retail for but I do think that they were worth £25 easily as I have bought trainers from New Look for this price which aren't anywhere near as good quality or last as long. Other than the scuffing which to be fair does happen with most leather trainers these have been a good buy and although they get dirty easily they do wash well and I know that a quick wash in the washing machine and they come out looking brilliant white again.
