Around Christmas last year Marks and Spencer had a huge sale and I made sure I was at my local store early to grab some bargains. Even though I was there early and the first section I went to was the children's department I still couldn't get the bargain £2 boots in my daughter's size. I bought them a size bigger and they finally fit her!
The boots in question are these Marks and Spence round toe boots. They were available to purchase from child's size 4 and went through right up to adult size 2 in the children's department. The sticker on the underside of the boots actually said £15 so to grab these for only £2 was definitely well worth it.
The design of these boots is nothing special, they don't have any fancy designs like some other girls boots available to buy. They are simply suede boots with the Ugg style feel to them. My daughters pair are a darker brown than the boots in dooyoo's picture but still have the same design. The inside of the boots have a soft fur lining, perfect for the colder months but they would be too hot to wear all of the year. The sole is around a centimetre deep and have a good grip to them, I've never seen my daughter slid on these so they are perfect for the cold, slightly icy conditions.
Like I said before, I couldn't get my daughters size at the time in the boots so I picked up a size 7 and they finally fit her just in time for the cold weather we've been having. I've found they fit her well with both socks and thick winter tights without them feeling too tight. My daughter also wears them a lot of the time with leggings and again, they fit well even over her legs with thick knitted leggings. My daughter has been wearing these a lot the last two months and are still in a fantastic condition despite a little scuffing on the front but all her shoes and boots usually get this.
I'd definitely recommend these boots from Marks and Spencer. They are made to a high quality, fashionable and are true to size. They keep the fantastic condition they come in even if they are worn a lot. I'd quite happily pay the full price for these in a bigger size when we need to replace these.
Although the boots can be found in the wellington section of the M&S website they really are not in the slightest bit wellington boots they may resemble them a little in the style but they are in no way water proof and are made of suede. You can buy these boots in different colours we own a pair of pink ones and also a pair of black ones. They have a panel design to them which is very simple and the boots are a very plain design overall but they still look very nice. These boots come in a wide range of sizes starting from children's size 4 up to ladies size 6. I am reviewing my daughter's pair of boots in the children's size 8.
We purchased a size 8 for my daughter which is her usual size but she does have wide feet and marks and Spencer described these as being a generous fit to allow for socks so as we were buying offline I chanced it knowing I could take them back to the store for an exchange if needed but they fit her perfectly. She can wear thick socks with these boots and they still fit her perfectly so they are true to size. I also find they fit her well on the bottom of the leg where other boots have been a little baggy for her thin legs these sit really well and the panel design really holds the boots in shape without them stretches as little one puts them on and off.
These boots are very easy to get on and my little girl can easily do this herself. Inside the boot is a lining of fake fur which help keep little ones feet warm and cosy and my daughter tells me these are her favourite shoes and try's to wear them with everything. There is a very thick sole to these boots which again makes them very comfy for little one to walk in and as it is completely flat it is perfect for walking lots.
I do think these boots are a little too much for hotter days and even though my little girl will always try to put these on they are too heavy and warm so are best suited to cooler days but not in the rain as it ruins the boot when they become wet. I also find they sit a lot better with a pair of trousers on rather than a skirt as the online description says they would be perfect with a skirt I disagree but that is just my personal preference.
I have found at the front of the sole of these boots has began to wear down a lot quicker than the rest of the sole and although they are still fine now I do think with a few more wears it will just get worse. This does not matter too much as the sole is very thick to start with but if they continue to wear at the front I suspect it will both make the boot both look really old but also be uncomfortable to walk in. There is a fair amount of grip at the bottom of the boots with a wavy design on the sole which helps keep my daughter steady on more slippery surfaces.
Our black pair of boots are lasting a lot longer than the pink ones but this is because it hides the dirt a lot better and the pink ones are beginning to turn a lot darker from the amount of use from my daughter the suede and a three year old exploring the world do not mix too great. The pink boots also show a water mark from where my daughter has jumped in a puddle when we were caught in the rain.
I picked my daughters boots up in there sale for just £2 a pair which I thought was a bargain and even just using them in the garden she would get good use out of them but m daughter actually loves these boots and try's to wear them with everything. The normal retail price starts at £15 but I do think even at this price they are worth buying as they last well and although they have started to show a little wear they have received a lot of use.
