Advantages: comfortable to wear lovely mule style robust soles

Disadvantages: some fraying on the inner sole and bits of foam poked through

My husband bought me these slippers for my birthday in July not the most romantic of gifts I know but a highly practical one as my previous slippers were looking tatty and were developing their own life system from the smell of stale sweat.

Continuing his practical theme with this present he selected the black colour as this was likely to get grubby than the beige or pink coloured ones that the slippers also come in.

The slippers have a soft black suede upper that has a nice pink bow detail over it. The insole for the slipper is a pink and black in colour and made from a soft material. The slipper is a mule style shoe with a round toe. The sole of the slipper is made from a rubbery plastic type of material with a small amount of grip on it. I think the floral in the name of these slippers must come form the inside detail of the slipper as it has an almost vine like pattern on it.

Now all joking about naff presents aside I was quite taken with these slippers as I prefer a mule style slipper as I can kick them off when sat down and slip them back on easily when getting back up. They fit my feet very comfortably cross the bridge of the mule and have never felt too tight or too loose. The soles of the slippers have also felt nice and soft to wear and I have found the fact that they are a mule style slipper has meant my feet haven't got too warm wearing them which I find happens with moccasin style slippers.

I like the fact the soles are a rubbery plastic material as this means if I am popping out to the bin or the garage with some recycling I don't have to worry about them getting damaged in some way. Equally the fact that they have grippy soles means they are good for me to wear in the bathroom and kitchen where there can be watery spills without the worry of falling.

I think the bow detail lifts these slippers and makes them look a bit more feminine as with out them they would look a bit unisex really.

My own gripe really with the slippers relates to the inner part of the slipper and whilst these were initially very comfortable to wear and to an extent remain so, I have noticed that the inner part is starting too look a bit tatty and frayed with some bits of foam coming loose and poking out around the toe and heel area on the inside. Given the cost of these slippers £15 I would expect them to hold up a bit longer than the 3 and half months that I have been wearing them. I have had slippers from Marks and Spencer's in the past for both my husband and I and this is the first time this sort of wearing has happened. It is odd really as the outer parts of the slipper still look as good as new and the plastic of the soles shows no real signs of wear and tear or cracking. Now I am not sure if I have just had a dodgy pair of if this is a common fault with these slippers, but because of the fraying and wearing through there has been I think my Santa list is going to need another pair of slippers put on it. Overall I would recommend these slippers though and hopefully the pair you buy will have a more robust inner part than mine did.

Summary: A nice pair of comfortable slippers from M and S though the inners gave way quickly
