~Matalan Slipper Boots~
Matalan and www.matalan.co.uk stock quite a few different designs of slippers and slipper boots. Today I will be discussing the Cable Knitted Slipper Boots.
These boots are designed for wearing indoors as slippers. They are cream in colour and have a tartan trim design. The boots are made from non-specified materials (as per the Matalan website). These boots are available in adult size 3-8. There are no guidelines given for washing these boots.
~Price and Availability~
These slipper boots can be bought instore or from the Matalan website. They are priced at £10.00 a pair.
As the nights get colder, it is important to keep warm when at home. I don't really like normal slippers but love slipper boots! My feet become cold very easily and when my feet are cold, the rest of my body seems to suffer. I was spoiled for choice by the slipper boots on offer in my local Matalan store but finally opted for the tartan trim boots. These are more expensive than the other slipper boots but I loved the design.
I am a size 8-9 in shoes normally so selected a size 8. These boots are incredibly spacious and I find them to be quite big on me so perhaps choosing a size smaller is a good option. I have quite wide feet and find that these boots can accommodate my feet comfortably without restricting them. I actually feel there is too much space around my feet so find it best to wear some socks to pad my feet out a little.
The boots are well designed and well stitched and lined. The bottom of the boots are quite padded. These slipper boots do look quite large on my feet and remind me of moon boots! The colour of these boots is lovely - cream mainly with a knitted effect which is thick, wooly and has slight shimmer to it. The tartan trim runs up both sides of the boots, around the top and is finished off with a little tartan bow - very Scottish!
These slipper boots are comfortable to wear. They are easy to slip on as the top of the boots is flexible at the back and front. Sometimes I find them to be quite loose around my legs so normally tuck the bottom of my pyjamas in to the boots to hold them in place! The boots are padded nicely but it does take a bit of getting used to when it comes to walking around with them on. We don't have stairs in our home but I have often worn these to go down to answer the outside buzzer and didn't feel 100% safe on the stairs whilst wearing them.
For walking around the house, they are perfectly fine. We have 75% laminate in our home and find that whilst these boots do not offer a massive amount of grip, I don't slide about much. The soles are proving to be hard wearing too. These slipper boots keep my feet incredibly cosy as well as being comfortable to wear in the colder evenings. I normally keep them at the side of my bed and pop them on when I get up in the mornings as cold laminate flooring isn't pleasant!
The boots completely cover my feet and extend 1/3 of the way up the bottom half of my legs. If I don't tuck my pyjamas into them, I often feel a draft due to the large opening at the top of the boots but once tucked in, my feet are completely enclosed and warm. I am impressed by how warm my feel inside these boots. They never overheat but keep my feet cosy and at a pleasant level of warmth.
These boots do seem to attract fluff and dirt easily given their knitted material and the colour. They don't seem to get smelly as my feet don't sweat in them and although it isn't specified that they can go in the machine, I have popped them in on a low temperature wash to freshen them up. This hasn't caused damage to the boots and they came up clean. I don't feel the need to wash them often.
I have been more than pleased with the quality and design of these slipper boots. They are so comfortable to wear and I love the tartan/cream design. They feel very soft yet support and mould to fit my feet well. They are definitely worth the £10.00 price tag and would make a nice gift. I can highly recommend them! They seem to be durable. I wear them for several hours per day for walking around or when chilling on the sofa and they are holding their shape and quality well.
Thanks for reading :)
Summary: great slipper boots!
