Advantages: Easy to clean and look good
Disadvantages: Perform poorly in rain and snow, no warmth
I bought these wellies a while ago when there was a lot of snow, I was living in Yorkshire at the time and I was fed up of having to trudge about in the snow and rain getting wet. I bought them for £12. They are made from a man-made material with a soft interior, they do not have steel toes and have a plastic tread sole. They look quite good but that is really the only good thing I have to say about them. They perform well in mild rain and a bit of splashing in puddles, but I found that my feet would get wet if I stayed out in them too long and that as they are not lined my feet were freezing cold within minutes of being out in the snow. I found that I needed to go down a foot size but in hind sight I wish I had got the correct size so I could have used a thick pair of socks to keep my feet warm.
They also smell very chemically and this smell has not faded, I've had them about 18 months now and the smell is still as strong as ever. The grip on the welly is good in snow, but I find that in rain they tend to be quite slippy and as I live on a hill this proved annoying.
They are easy to get on and off, though I did a bit of gardening recently in the summer sun and had to get my husband to pull them off, as my feet had got very hot. I tend to use the wellies for potting around in the garden now, when its usually a bit wet so that I protect my shoes from getting mudding, they are also easy to clean which is good.
They are no good for digging or heavy duty gardening as you really should had steel toe caps to protect your toes.
Overall these wellies have perfomed very poorly and I should have just bought a proper pair that were more suited to my needs, I would not recommend them to others, but if you are just doing the school run, or pottering around in the garden, live in an area where it is dry all the time and has no snow then they may be good for you as a fashion item.
Summary: No good in the rain or snow!
