I'd been looking for snow boots for a while before I bought these boots but the ones I found were too chunky, (which would make them occasional wear) or expensive. I narrowed my search down to these boots and a pair of Timberlands. The style of the Timberlands were more like a walking boot so these boots won as I can see myself wearing them every day this winter.
For me these boots have everything: They are stylish and waterproof. They have a sole that will give some grip in the snow and ice. Inside the the leg of the boots there is a soft cosy fleece lining which is slightly cushioned making them very comfortable to wear. The bonus is that it's antimicrobial so there won't be any nasty niffs! The sole with it's special shaping (anatomical footbed) fits and supports the arch of my foot. The cushioning in the heel is great. I suffer from foot and ankle pain at times and feel this will help reduce it (I usually rely on Fitflops). The wool trim is a nice touch. The side zips mean these are easy to get on and off. The laces at the front are adjustable.
I found these boots to be true to size. I have average sized calves and found the boots fit without any adjustment of the laces. I will need to adjust the laces if I want to wear these boots with jeans. If you struggle to find boots that fit your calves give these a try.
Inspired by the footwear worn by horsemen roaming the steppes of Mongolia, these were designed to stop winter right in its tracks. Waterproof suede and nubuck and trimmed with wool, these provide all the traction you need with a sticky rubber outsole, plus plenty of support with a molded arch shank.
