If you have read my review on a pair of flat shoes called Lalia (Nine West) then you would know I was reviewing the second pair of flat shoes I purchased at the same time. This is the review for the second pair if you haven't guessed already! Week after week I am now finding that flat shoes are becoming my saviour as me being 37 weeks pregnant and wearing heels is not the best combination even though I do persevere if I'm out with friends for dinner or going out for a few non-alcoholic drinks with my other half.
I was tempted by the Loretta shoe by Miss KG as I liked the flower detailing on the shoe. Miss KG is yet another brand of Kurt Geiger it just offers shoes on cheaper budgets as Kurt Geiger shoes tend to be quite expensive and Miss KG offers something for people on a smaller budget but I have always found them good quality and well made which to me is what is important when spending money on shoes.
What Miss KG say about Loretta:
"Loretta by Miss KG is a sweet flat ballerina featuring delicate fabric rose detailing. Team with simple skirts or your favourite jeans to add a little something special to your daywear. These pretty pumps are a perfect addition to your wardrobe!"
The Loretta pumps come in black, grey or nude and I opted for the grey colour as it seems to be my shoe colour choice at the moment and I thought they would go with most of my clothes in my wardrobe (I'm really trying to brighten it up but it just isn't happening!). They are completely flat with a synthetic sole which I've found takes a lot of wearing to even make a dent in the tiny heel the shoes have which is a good thing.
The main body of the shoe is fabric as is the contrasting black lining. The shoes have a slight panelling detail to the front of the shoe and they also come with a little fabric label at the back of the shoe which may help you get the shoes on. In my opinion it is a bit of a wasted item on the shoe as the shoes are easily to slip on. I find that the fabric on these shoes is actually quite stiff and doesn't really give much when I am wearing them which is perfectly fine but the first few times I wore these shoes they were incredibly uncomfortable and my feet were very red when I took them off as there seemed to be no give in the material whatsoever. I understand shoes have to be rigid but these are a little to rigid for my liking. However, after trying these shoes again and again I found that eventually the fabric did give and became a little softer meaning that my feet weren't left red and rubbed especially on the heel.
The fabric rose detail on the front of the shoe is a lovely addition to the shoe as it gives it some much needed detail as there really isn't anything special about a plain flat shoe. What I have noticed though is that the fabric rose does start to become misshapen if the shoes are not stored properly, which was my mistake and now I keep them in the box so the rose stays as a rose!
Loretta are available from all Miss KG retailers both in store and online and as I said above they come in three different colours but there is no difference in the shoe itself. The shoes come in sizes 3 - 8 and one width only which is just a standard width. The shoes cost £40.00 which as I said above Miss KG is from the cheaper range of shoes made and sold for Kurt Geiger.
For me these shoes started off incredibly uncomfortable and now my feet are a bit more swollen than before these shoes are completely off limits at the moment as I just find them a bit too rigid but I can't see a problem with me wearing them when I have normal feet again! I think they are worth the £40.00 and I certainly wouldn't have paid any more for them as they did rub so much to start off with. I would recommend them if you a looking for a pair of pretty detailed flat pumps but I would warn you in advance that they may rub!
