“ Brand: Miss KG / Type: Wedge Shoes „
When it comes to sales I am the more the sort of person who will sale shop online. I can't stand the hustle and bustle of actually being in store and ending up being surrounded by a bunch of crazy women all trying to save a few pounds. And as I used to work in retail most of the stock in the sale are the clothes that couldn't be shifted full price, yet slap a sale sticker on it and it's like the most amazing garment ever! Nowadays sales are easier on websites and for me I'd rather shop this way!
ASOS is a website that I use regularly for clothing as well as shoes as sometimes they have better offers than the brands themselves. I had a splurge last year in their sale and came away with a few little goodies which I did need and of course pairs of shoes that although I didn't particularly need I managed to give myself a reason as to why I needed them! My main excuse is that I'd be saving money!
A pair of shoes which were quickly put into my online basket were a pair called Pandora by Miss KG. I had seen them on the Kurt Geiger website and they had been nearly £30.00 more. Knowing I could get them cheaper was even better for me. Pandora would be coming away with me just after new year so they would get plenty of use. I am also back off to the Canary Islands in a few weeks for a family trip out there so they will be once again packed in my suitcase!
What Miss KG say:
"Pandora by Miss KG is a leather wedge boot adorned with metal studs and rear zip fastening. Perfect to tap into this seasons girly grunge trend, these will look great teamed with a lace dress!"
Well I agree with most of what the description says but I don't really think they are only suitable for the grunge trend as my clothing is hardly grunge. I mainly wore these with either my knee length denim shorts or a maxi dress. They added a bit of detail to whatever I was wearing and for me some much needed height! I feel a lot more comfortable in heels and do generally wear them on a daily basis.
So the detail...Well as you can see from the photo of Pandora they are covered in bronze colour studs which are square in detail. They go all the way around the shoe and the square shaped studs are in two sizes; small and large. Even though the shoe is covered in the studs they are arranged in straight lines and look very neat on the shoe. The studs are not too bright and shiny but rather dull which suits the style of the shoe and doesn't make them look too bling!
Miss KG class the shoe as a boot but I'd class Pandora as a shoe. It doesn't go past the ankle so for me they are a shoe! Pandora have a wide peep toe which gives plenty of room for the toes so they are not too cramped which can sometimes happen with a peep toe. The shoes are done up by a small black zip at the heel of the shoe. By having the zip they do feel a little more secure on the foot, they are not loose but not too tight either but just ensure you get the right size as these shoes are not adjustable. The zip is barely visible when you look at the shoes once they are on and done which is good, it also helps that the zip is black.
Pandora are made of leather which when you first wear them is rigid and has that new leather scent to it! Within a few hours the leather supples up a little around the foot. I did find that until the shoes were properly broken in that the heel part of the shoe with the zip did rub my heel a little as the fabric for the zip is a little rough but this soon stopped. I wore these quite a lot on my holiday and did quite a bit of walking in them. The leather softens against your foot but still stays rigid enough to keep the shape of the shoes. There is a little padding in the heel and foot bed areas of the shoe which makes them comfortable to wear.
Pandora are a wedge shoe with a 140mm heel which is quite high and together with the substantial platform I did find them a bit hard to walk in when I first wore them (fortunately I wore them around the house first to wear them in before my holiday!). I wobbled a bit and hardly looked graceful but after a few minutes I found that they were actually quite comfortable to walk in. The platform however could be a bit smaller for my liking especially as the heel on these shoes is slightly curved so your foot is not fully supported. As comfortable as these shoes are my feet did ache a little after wearing them for hours upon end so I probably wouldn't wear them for as long as I did!
Miss KG Pandora are available from Kurt Geiger stockists and ASOS. I managed to pay just a mere £28.00 for my pair in the sale. They were currently priced at £95.00 and are still on sale on the Kurt Geiger website for £59.00 so there is a saving to be had!
In my opinion a gorgeous pair of wedges with lovely detailing with a slight 'rock' edge. Definitely a bargain to be had!
