If any of you have read my recent shoe reviews you'll know I have a major achilles' heel for leopard print. I tend to steer clear of it with clothing but when it comes to shoe I simply can't stop myself. I saw these shoes a while ago in New Look and so began our love affair. I'm not really a heely girl but I feel for these shoes as soon as I saw them and so thought i'd invest in a pair and break my flat shoe routine. The shoes are a classic peep toe heel. The majority of the shoe is a beige/orange leopard print pattern which is relatively large scaled. The rest of the shoe is black: the heel, the sole and the bow. The only exception is the inside of the shoe which is a faux leather in a shimmery gold colour. The overall look is surprisingly chic and stylish, and they definitely have that glam factor which is great! These shoes are very feminine, so if you are not a girly girl then I would maybe steer clear. I love wearing black and these are super easy to style with a plain black dress, but also work well with other colours. I find with patterns, especially animal print, it can be too much of an overload if you wear these too. They do also look great with either bare legs, nude tights or black tights. Personally I prefer black tights but you can style them however you like. In fact, that's what is so great about them - they are super versatile. The heel is quite slim, like a stiletto heel. It looks very delicate and classy which I really like as I'm not exactly the delicate type! The heel is pretty big, roughly 6 inches. The higher the heel the better as far as I'm concerned, I think higher heels look loads better. I do find them near impossible to walk in, but you have to suffer for beauty - right? I think because I wear heels so rarely when I do I want to go all out with a show stopper, and these certainly are high impact. I personally wouldn't recommend these for day time because I think they are too dressy. It very much depends on your style but because they are so high impact I'd only really feel comfortable with them on in the evening - or a dressed up day event I suppose. I have found they have rubbed my feet a little, though this is probably to be expected with any heel (especially for a non-heel wearer). I haven't found it so bad I've discarded the shoes though. I've always come back to them for a night out or dressed up occasion as my heel of choice. In terms of comfort, other than slight rubbing, I've had no real issues with these. I do struggle to walk in them a little but if you have more experience with heels you'll not have a problem. I do wish the inside of the shoe wasn't that faux leather fabric because it can make your feet a little sweaty when they are bare. I tend to wear tights so this isn't an issue but it could be for others. The cost of these shoes is probably the breaking point for me. They were £29.99 and I got student discount which was 20% on the day so I got them for £24. This isn't terrible for heels, though above my ideal price point. I have had good use out of them and have found them more comfortable than other heels so I do think I've recouped some of the cost over time. Overall, a lovely leopard print heel but the cost might sting.
Style: They look amazing off and even better on! As soon as i saw them i loved them! They're a gorgeous leapord print pattern, which is very much in style this season, especially with it coming up to summer. The print has various shades of orange with swirly black leapord print spots. The organge isn't the neon type or bright in the slightest and is really subtle. This is a peep toe heel and there's a black bow just above where the toes go, adding femininity and it makes the shoe what it is in my opinion! The heel is slim sline and black which is nice and classy but i was suprised at how thin it really is! I was also quite suprised because i thought the heel would be a little shorter with this style of heel but i'd guess it's around the 6 inch mark which is great to add height but not so great to balance in if you're not used to this kind of height! The picture on the Newlook website sums them up well! It also gives you the ability to zoom in on detail etc so if you're interested i'd reccomend checking there page on the website out! I'd reccomend these for both daily wear (once you're used to walking in them!) and going out on a night time as they're really versatile with any outfit, i've worn them with a bodycon party dress, and with a jumper and jeans and the shoes went well with both! I've had various compliments of how unusual they are and the colour's really soft and subtle; i think the bow calms the shoe down a bit and they're certianly not the type of shoe to be classed as a shoe for purely going out to meals etc in. Comfort: To be honest they're not the most comfortable shoe to walk in, at 6 inches this will be obvious to most. I'm not used to wearing heels this tall and usually stick to 3-4 inches, but because they're so lovely i've made myself literally practice walking in them and they're now really easy to glide along in! If you're looking for shoes to give you radical height these are for you! I'm 5'3 and these bring me upto 5'9 which is nice! The slimness of the heel didn't really help when walking in them either, as it gave little support to the sole of the foot and put alot of pressure on the toes. They're comfortable when sitting down though and nice and soft on the feet. The peep toe adds in letting your feet breathe well. Price and value for money: Mine were a real bargain as I got them in the sale reduced from £29.99 to £10 which i was very pleased with! Unfortunetly they're now out of stock at this price but i can imagine they'll be back in stock soon if you're interested, presumably at the original £29.99. In my opinion they're good value even at £29.99 as they're so versatile with a range of different outfits and can be worn day to day without looking out of place.
For some reason whenever I suggest a few products to Dooyoo I never seen to get around to writing about them before the disappear from my lists so this time Ive decided not to let that happen so today all my reviews will be on products Ive suggested - expect some varied reviews LOL. I only have one shoe review left to write now which is on these 'New Look Bow Peep Toe Heels - Leopard Print' which I picked up in the sale a few weeks back. I am totally addicted to leopard print in fact even my bedroom wallpaper is in the print so that should give you an idea of how much I love it so these shoes were an essentail buy for me. I needed something to spruce up a plain black dress and these are it - they are quickly becoming a wardrobe staple and Im so glad I bought them. Useful Information: Price: Was £24.99 Now £10 Stockists: New Look & newlook.com Other Info: Available in sizes 3-8, very slim heel with a slight raised platform at the front & these shoes are made from man-made material - not the type you can just wipe clean so be careful with these. These shoes in reality look exactly like they do in the picture so if you are buying online what you see is what you get. They are mostly coloured in leopard print with a small black bow attached to the front and a very slim black heel at the back. There is a very small raised platform at the front which is also black in colour - the raised part doesnt really help with walking but it does make the design look better overall as it evens it all out. They are made from a silky type of material which makes the shoe in my opinion look more high quality and classy but if you get it dirty I assume it would be murder to clean so be very careful. Design wise they are beautiful shoes and I think the added feature of the bow on the front makes them look even nicer - it appeals to my girly side which is always a good thing when it comes to shoes! Now because of the print pattern it does mean these shoes wont match with all colours or styles but they are great for dressing up an otherwise boring outfit. Ive been wearing these with dresses when Im going on nights out and with a simple jeans and t-shirt when Im looking for something more casual because they do make an outfit like that look effortlessy classier and dressier in seconds. These are best for wearing with casual outfits Id say as they make them look so much better but on a night out Im always getting comments from people saying how much they love them so its not just me that likes the gorgeous design obviously! The heel on these Id guess is around 5-6 inches which in my shoe collection is about average and I assumed the very thin heel would make these harder to walk in but they really arent. As with most heels as long as you can keep your balance these are very easy to walk around in and surprisingly comfy as well. Even the first time I wore these I didnt get any blisters or feel the need to take them off at all - which is very odd with a new pair of shoes on my feet so I was very happy. Walking in heels takes practice but if you know how you will find these comfortable and very easy to walk long distances in - I certainly do anyway. I would highly recommend these shoes while they are still on offer because they are totally worth the money I paid for them because Ive been wearing them loads since I bought them. As I mentioned Ive only owned these for about a month (I have been wearing them non-stop though) and there is no wear or tear on them at all that I can notice so you know they are pretty high quality. I cannot recommend highly enough they are a gorgeous pair that I hope to be wearing for many months to come - GET THEM WHILE THEY ARE ON SALE!! :] Thanks For Reading. x0 Salz 0x
