“ Brand: New Look / Type: Sandals „
There are occasions when I need my feet to look glamorous, but I also crave comfort if I know I am going to be standing for a long period of time.
When the summer weather arrives, I always end up with lots of pair of flip flops and sandals, and really do mix and match them due to the nature of what I am doing.
I bought these pearl flip flops because when I saw them in the shop I couldn't resist owning a pair. They look so glamorous for something so simply designed. I imagined being able to really dress these up as well as down therefore getting a lot of use out of them.
With a pretty bow at the centre of the toe bar, the straps are adorned with pretty fake pearl beads. They do well at shimmering in the light, and as the whole shoe is a bright white, the pearls really show themselves off well.
There's not a lot to the base of the flip flops, and what you do get is a very thin layer with no cushioning what so ever. I don't ever expect to get a lot of support from a pair of flip flops, but these do appear to be on the thin side.
Wearing the flip flops, it's almost like my feet have gained an extra layer, but you can really feel anything under foot especially if you walk on a stony area.
Comfort wise, I find the flip flops to be surprisingly comfortable considering the bow and the pearls that are attached to the straps of the shoe. The toe strap isn't leather, but it's still soft enough that it doesn't rub between my toes. I haven't managed to pick up any blisters from these flip flops yet which is always a good thing.
I have had a few occasions to wear these since buying them, but I wouldn't recommend them for daily use as due to the nature of the colour of the flip flops, I can see them becoming discoloured very quickly.
They really aren't suitable for beach use or on wet grass as they would become stained quickly.
The times I have worn them and found myself standing around for a long period of time, my feet have hurt slightly by the end of the day, but as long as I'm not standing on uneven ground then they are as comfortable as wearing a pair of any summer sandals.
I paid £14.99 for my pair which is more than I would normally pay for a pair of sandals, but as these are suitable for occasion use rather than every day, I didn't mind paying for them quite so much.
Overall, these flip flops will last me a while as long as I look after them properly, and as they can be worn with both jeans, and dresses, I think they will almost look different depending on your outfit. This will go a long way for me getting maximum use from the flip flops.
I do love my heels but sometimes in the summer you cant beat your flip-flops. I must admit I buy several pairs each year. My latest pair was bought from New Look and they are the Cute Bow and Pearl T Bar sandals. They cost £14.99 and I got them on line when I ordered some other things from there. I buy quite a few pairs of shoes from New Look and on the whole they are of reasonable quality.
The bow and pearl T bar sandals are hat I would call flip flops. When I ordered mine they were only available in white, I don't know if this is still the case. The flip-flops are made from a man made fibre that New Look describe as "leather look" which I would somewhat agree with. I bought a 6, 39euro, which is my usual size and found they fitted perfectly.
The straps on these sandals, as with all flip flops, come from the toe post. and separates into 2 straps which go about 2/3 down the flip-flop. These 2 straps are decorated with pearls and little gold balls. There are 6 pearls and 6 little gold balls each side. They look quite pretty and at the moment seem well attached however I do think in time you could end up losing some of them.
At the front of the flip-flop where the toe post splits into 2 there is a small white bow attached. Its made from a ribbed material and has a single pearl which should sit in the middle of it, however they have actually situated this single pearl to one side of the bow making it off centre. Although this isn't overly noticeable it really bugs me. My Fiancé assures me its not noticeable and its only a small detail but its one I'm disappointed with.
The off centre pearl aside, the flip-flops are really comfortable. They have no heel so they are easy to wear, the toe post doesn't rub at all and the straps are quite soft against my skin. They look pretty and girly and would be good for daytime or evenings especially on holiday. In fact they would look great for a beach wedding.
Over all I'm pleased with how these flip-flops look and feel, they are a little bit different to any others I have and were a reasonable price, I just wish that the centre pearl wasn't off centre, but maybe I'm being a bit too fussy there.
As you may have noticed, I have developed quite a thing for sandals recently, so when I came across these beauties in the New Look sale a few months back I bought them without hesitation. I think that sandals are the perfect way to tan your feet and they don't leave you with too many tan lines on your feet when your at the beach. I am always popping down to the beach nowadays, because I live in a seaside town. I like to take advantage of the beach because I think that you never know when things are going to change, so I try to get down there as much as I can.
Shoes are kind of an addiction for me, no joke! I must own quite a few pairs; every style, colour and even size. My family are mostly the same (with the exclusion of the men!) I am always popping down to a sale, and especially Primark and New look because I know I will get a good deal. The shoes themself are white, with a sort of T- section at the front, like most flip-flops and Sandals with little pearls around the edges. Obviously the pearls are not real, I feel that maybe this could slightly increase the price.
These shoes cost me just £7.50 in the sale at New Look and to this day they are one of my favourite pairs. Although, when I went back to see if they had them in another colour I was told that they were out of stock (gutted much!)
For the price I paid for these shoes I wasn't really expecting much; but everything about these shoes was just very feminine. They are one of the most comfortable, stylish pair of sandals that I own and best of all, they go with almost anything. I just think that in order to be happy inside you need to look the part on the outside; I always feel a million dollars when I wear these shoes and I think that anyone who wears them will feel the same. I always get people asking me where I got them and how much they were and nearly everyone is shocked when I tell them. This is the main reason I felt I should put it on here.
They are a very sturdy pair of shoes with padded insoles for extra comfort and the New Look logo and size imprinted in the inside of the shoes. They come clipped together and can be found in every New Look store for around £20 brand new (I got mine in a sale!) I know that this seems a little much but for these shoes I think that I would probably have paid a whole lot more if I had known that they were as amazing as this.
I happen to have a very special occassion coming up. Im going to be godmother to my friends little girl at the start of June which is very special in itself but best of all it gave me an excuse to go shopping! Funnily enough I spent so much time trying to find the perfect dress that I totally forgot about finding a pair of shoes so a few weeks ago I decided to go shoe shopping - I wanted a pair that would look great with my dress for that day but I could also wear with other things I own on other occasions. As the christening is in the summer I wanted to find a cute pair of sandals to wear for the ceremony - Im not standing at the front in heels as I wouldnt feel comfortable. Anyway in the end I settled on these 'New Look Pearl & Bow Sandals' simply because they fit my needs perrfectly - the matched my dress, they were flat and I could wear them all the time. These are a stunning pair of sandals in my opinion and Im very happy that I found them!
Stockists: New Look & newlook.com
Sizes: These sandals are available in sizes 3 - 9 so whatever your size you can find one to fit you in these sandals.
Other Info: These shoes are only available in Cream, these sandals have a pearl, metallic & bow embellishment, they are classed as flat shoes BUT they do have a slight raised heel. Now New Look recommend buying something to protect the material of these shoes but I dont think thats totally necessary here - I wouldnt know where to get that kind of thing from anyway but the material doesnt get dirty or ruin easily so I dont think you really need anything to protect them.
If you are planning on buying these shoes online then dont worry - they look the same in reality as the do on the image with this review so you wont be disappointed with the design of these. The 'main' part of the shoe (the bottom) is basically foot shaped as it is rounded at the front for your toes to fit in and slightly rounded at the back to ensure you foot will fit on there perfectly - as long as you buy the right size anyway. The bottom of the soles are also ever so slightly padded to offer a bit more support for your feet - thats a nice touch I thought as it makes these much more comfortable than your average sandals. Now these shoes are classed as and do feel totally flat BUT there is a small raised heel at the back which is pretty chunky and wooden - it doesnt add anything to your height and is more there to balance out the overall design than anything I reckon but it doesnt make the sandals look any worse so I guess its a nice touch. The bottoms of these sandals are quite thin which I assumed would mean they split easier but I havent had that problem so far so even though they are thin they arent poor quality - some of the other things on the shoes are but not the soles.
At the front of the shoe you have the two cream straps which are connected to the bottom - when you put these on the small thong part fits between you big toe and the one next to it just like a normal sandal. All along the straps is the pearl and metallic embellishments which make these shoes simply stunning I think. The design is pearl and then gold stud all the way up and the gold studs really make those embellishments stand out from the shoe itself - as the pearls alone wouldnt as they are the same kind of colour as the shoe so its nice that the studs are added to the design. The bow detail is a similar pearl colour and is about medium sized which gives the shoes a lovely girly touch but it isnt so big that the design becomes OTT - these remain simple and classy without being too much or the design being so OTT you can only wear these for very classy occassions. The bow sits on the thong part of the shoe so its at the bottom of my big toe when I put these on which means it is very comfortable as it doesnt itch or irritate any of my toes - a gorgeous design wiht no flaws - at last!! Also as far as I can tell these are very high quality - none of the pearls, studs or bows have fallen off yet and I cant see any sign of damage or dirt on them at all and I wore these quite a lot when the weather was nice here so again I dont think you need a special kit to keep these looking fabulous - they do that alone because the quality is so good.
I guess these shoes are quite versatile as the colour is quite simple so it will match with most styles or colours you try and match it with. Obviously these are only suitable for wearing when it is warm outside - but who would expect sandals to be good for winter weather? They are comfy enough to walk long distances on - and they didnt even rub me on the first wear which most sandals do so thats brilliant for me. The embellishments make these a stunning pair of sandals that you can wear all the time rather than just for special occasions - although I cant wait to wear them for Maddy's big day! A stunning pair of shoes from New Look that I hope will last me a very long time.
