“ Brand: New Look / Type: Ankle Boots „

I have these boots in both black and a light beige brown and I picked both up in the New Look sale for only £9.99 each instead of their usual £24.99. At this price they are never going to last forever and are throw away fashion but they look good and will last a good amount of time before you need to throw them away.
The boots are made from a pleather material that looks good and not cheap and at a distance could easily pass for real leather. They have a double buckle fastening on them but they also have a zip on the side for easily taking them on and off so you never really have to undo and fasten the buckle.
The sole is solid and they have a small heal on them which looks good but doesn't make them uncomfortable to walk in and I can walk for ages whilst wearing these and my feet never complain. They are certainly a lot more comfortable than my going out shoes or my work ones.
They go to just above my ankle and look great with leggings or skinny jeans. They also look nice with a summer dress but I think I am a little bit too old for this look now and tend to try and stick with more classic looks. They do give a modern look to wearing leggings and skinny jeans though without making me look like mutton.
Even though they are cheap they are actually quite hard wearing and not as throw away as I thought they were going to be. Perhaps if you are wearing them every day then they might wear away quicker but I have found mine to be still in good condition after over a year of wearing them so for me especially getting them so cheaply I think they were worth the money and more.
Its that time of year when I have a change round in my cupboard and replaced the flip flops and sandals at the front of the cupboard with my shoes and boots. I have to wear flat heels for work so am always looking out for cheap pairs of boots as I like to have a few different ones on the go at one time. These were actually a birthday present last year from my husband who doesn't usually buy me things like clothes or shoes, however he knows that I often get my ankle boots from New Look and they are usually a good fit and are very reasonably priced compared to other similar ones. These were £19.99 and are made of synthetic material but at a glance you could think that they were leather as they are don't have that shiny plastic look which some cheaper boots have. They are also quite soft and pliable to the touch.
They come in black and a light tan colour and I have got the black ones as this is what I needed. These boots have two silver buckles as intimated in the name, one which goes across the foot and the other which is situated near to the top both fastening on the outside of the boot. The one at the top is particularly good as you can adjust it to fit closer to your leg if you are wearing the boots with thick tights or leggings which looks much neater and gives a sort of ruched look. There is no zip and you just slip your foot into them which I find easy to do and I do have quite a high instep and the heel is about half an inch so your foot is quite flat. They are wide enough without being clumpy or ugly and I think they do look really quite smart .
Sometimes I will do a ten hour shift at work with a lot of it on my feet and these boots have never rubbed or pinched my feet, or really made them sweat which is a bonus for man made material. I usually wear them with a thin pair of socks or even pop socks if this is all I can put my hands on in the morning. The one slight negative for me is that the sole is quite thin and if you do step on a stone or something sharp you can just feel it slightly through the sole but I think if the sole was much thicker it could make them look a bit chunky.
They do look quite a neat little boot and I have been wearing them now since the beginning of the year and apart from a slight wearing down of the heel at the back and a few scuff marks to the front they are still in very good condition. I would say that I wear them once or twice a week as I do have several other pairs but for £20 they are a very well made and comfortable boot. I have paid a lot more for boots which aren't as well made or as comfortable as these and would recommend them as a useful and fashionable addition to your wardrobe.
I often find that shoes in Newlook can be rather hit and miss. Some days I will find a pair that is extremely comfortable and I am tempted to buy two pairs and other days I try everything on and they're all really tight or too big and just awful. When I bought this boots I was really pleased as they are so comfortable.
They cost me £20 which I was very happy with paying. Buying boots for under £30 is a bargain in my eyes! When I tried them on the first thing I noticed was that they were not too narrow in the toe area. I often try on shoes and boots which are hard to get on because the toe area just doesn't seem wide enough and it pinches my toes so much I've struggled to actually get my foot all the way in. These boots, however, are wide enough for my feet to get in comfortably but they don't look like wide boots so they still remain fashionable looking.
The heel on the boots is only very small, about an inch off the ground with the sole of the boot being level with it and this makes it very comfortable and very easy to walk in. It doesn't add to my height, in fact I think my trainers are higher than these but when I wear boots I don't want a big heal anyway as usually I'm wearing them because it's colder outside and for practical purposes so I don't want to be teetering around on a heal.
I liked the fit, a size 5 fitted very, very comfortably and didn't pinch or begin to ache my feet. Sometimes boots can make your feet ache when you're used to wearing trainers most of the time but I could wear this pair all day and not feel achy feet. There isn't a great amount of cushioning in these but that didn't seem to effect me.
The look was very nice, they would go well with both trousers and jeans. You could wear them in a casual way whilst out shopping or dress them up for a special occasion.
I wore these so much over the winter and walked in them a lot and found that a very small hole began to appear in the sole which I suppose is only to be expected when you buy a pair for just £20 and wear them constantly.
In my opinion these are great boots. I bought quite a similar pair a year or so earlier from River Island which cost three times the price and although the quality was slightly better they were no where near as comfortable so I was pleased with these. The detail of the two buckles make them look a little more interesting than just plain boots and I really like them, I am very, very happy with this purchase.
I do think Newlook are hit and miss with shoes but I always try on several pairs as I have now bought 2 different pairs of foot-wear from here which have been huge hits and I wear regularly. I am very pleased.
I have these boots in both black and brown as I originally bought them in brown and liked them so much that I bought the black too.
They are from New Look which is a shop where I buy loads of my shoes as I really like the fact that I can buy the newest fashions and not have to spend an absolute fortune on them. I can usually buy about 5 pairs of shoes in New Look for the price of one in some other shops. They are all usually made fairly well and although they usually won't last you for years for the money you should get plenty of wear out of them.
The buckle boots are made with manmade materials but from a distance these could easily pass for leather. I personally think that they look much more expensive than they actually were. They were only £19.99 and I have very similar boots which I bought from Debenhams a few years ago that cost me nearer to £80.
They have a double buckle on them which is more for fashion than practicality as I can get the boots on and off without ever having to touch the buckle. They do look good though and the brass coloured buckles on the brown boots and the silver coloured ones on the black boots really stand out and just give the boots a little bit more in the way of design.
These boots have a slight heel to just give me a slight raise when wearing them. Personally I would have preferred if the heel was slightly bigger but it does mean that they are extremely comfortable to wear. I have worn these for everything from walking the dog to doing the supermarket shop and never have I felt like they are hurting my feet or pinching them. The fact that they are ankle boots means that they don't scrape my heels and I could honestly wear these for hours without them ever feeling uncomfortable.
The one area of concern that I have with these boots is that the sole is really thin. Although it is hard so that when I am walking I don't feel anything under foot the soles don't seem to be attached securely and I have already noticed that on my black pair that the sole is coming loose on the front of the boots. I have remedied this by super gluing it back down but it is small things like this where you can tell the difference in quality between these and more expensive boots.
Other than the sole they seem to be holding up well and I think I should definitely get the rest of the winter out of them and as I have already worn them loads I think they were well worth under £20 each.
On a recent lunch break in town, I happened to be passing New Look when I remembered I'd never got round to replacing last year's winter boots which were looking scruffy and no longer waterproof. New Look is one of my first options when shoe shopping, as they're such good value for money and have a great choice.
These brown boots caught my eye, and I remembered reading some good reviews about them on here. I fancied brown instead of black, as I seem to end up with black boots every year, and as I wear a lot of creams and browns at this time of year I thought it would help me look more colour co-ordinated. They are also available in black, however.
The boots are ankle high which is great for me because I can't be doing with the faffing of trying to get into knee high boots and them having them slouching throughout the day. They don't have a zip so it's a case of just pulling them onto your foot, and the two buckles at the side are a nice decorative touch. You could adjust the top buckle if you were finding the boots a bit loose or tight, but they don't slouch or anything due to being ankle boots and reasonably firm material. They have a rounded toe area, which I prefer to pointed as there's less chance of my toes getting squashed.
The heel on these boots is only very slight, maybe a centimetre, and although this doesn't really add anything to your height it makes the boots feel more feminine because they make the clicking noise when you're walking. I find the sole is good quality and protects my feet from the elements, although I try not to wear these when it's raining too heavily because I worry about them spoiling or the colour running. I feel safe driving in these boots, this is quite a big consideration for me, because I can't drive in high heels so I try to avoid impractical footwear because otherwise I feel compelled to change into trainers when I'm driving somewhere, which adds to the faffing and time factor.
Comfort wise, I can wear these boots all day in work without any discomfort, which is unusual for me because my feet are slightly different sizes, so I tend to find one foot is always slightly less comfortable than the other. In this case, the only criticism I have is that after a LOT of walking, my little toe rubs ever so slightly on one foot, but not enough to cause a blister, and again I think my oddly sized feet are to blame for this!
I have so far worn these boots with jeans or leggings, and they are really versatile with different outfits. I don't really wear skirts but they would look great with a little floaty short skirt teamed with tights, and the top buckle means you can reduce the gap between your leg and the boot, as this is something I hate sometimes about wearing ankle boots with leggings as you can get a big gaping hole. They look really fashionable, with an almost "cowboy" feel about them, and without scrutinising them you wouldn't tell they're not real leather.
The boots seem to be good quality, although I haven't had them very long I can tell they are well made and it will take a lot of wear and tear before they start falling apart. I have previously had boots from New Look which have literally lasted for years before they needed replacing. I trust New Look's products and this is one of the reasons I shop there - I don't have to weigh up how long something will last when deciding whether to buy it or not.
When I bought these boots, they were priced at £19.99, but there was 25% of footwear so I only ended up paying £14.99. For a good quality pair of boots which are also reasonably fashionable, I think this is excellent value.

I managed to get my pair of these in the New Look sale towards the end of September.
I paid around £12.00 for them and the retail price is £19.99 which is still very affordable and much cheaper than a pair of real leather boots! The boots are available in two colours - black and tan and seeing as the tan were out of stock I got the black ones. Had I had a choice I'd of chosen the tan ones as the black ones don't look quite as casual; like most black boots they are a mish mash of smart and casual but the buckle detailing makes them look that bit more casual and gives them a bit of a grungey/biker chic edge while still being quite subtle.
They're a lot more practical for day to day wear than some of my other ankle boots as the design is simple compared to my floral/studded/heeled boots and they're really versatile as well as amazingly comfortable and easy to walk in. The design is quite generic and they're pretty simple ankle boots with ruched leather detailing, panel detailing and two chunky buckles with metal detailing on the fastening. The buckles can actually be used rather than just being there for aesthetics and the strap has three holes meaning that they will adjust to different sized ankles.
I have really skinny sparrow legs and usually find that most ankle boots are loose on the front of my leg but rub against my ankles which is uncomfortable and probably looks quite silly as well! Because of this I find that the buckles are an advantage even though it doesn't make that much difference when it is on the smallest hole. The boots have a rubber sole and slightly (and I mean slightly!) raised heel. While the sole is a little cheap feeling and not very thick it is pretty good quality and not too thin.
The 'heel' doesn't make any noticeable difference to my height but it stops me from feeling flat footed. The rounded, slightly pointed toe is really nice and it makes them look a little like chelsea boots. The material is designed to look like leather and it does look quite realistic but from touching it and looking at it up close it is clear that it is a plasticy, synthetic material. The material is good quality and quite thick as well as easy to wipe down whenever it gets splattered with mud etc. Sizes available are UK3-9 and I got these in my usual size five and they're very snug but not uncomfortably so and suprisingly they don't feel too narrow which is rare considering that I have quite wide feet.
They are very comfortable to walk in - even reasonably long distances and I usually wear these whenever I go to town or whenever I need to walk to the supermarket etc as they keep my feet warm. They don't rub at all and they keep my feet nice and snug while still looking fashionable. The lining makes my feet feel really cosey and they can be worn with a thick pair of socks without looking bulked out.
They're very versatile and easy to sling on with any outfit; skinny jeans, leggings, a maxi skirt, probably even shorts when the weather warms up! They don't look cheap or chavvy or anything and my shoe snob friend (who loves real leather boots from the likes of Clarks and M&S) even wants a pair! I've had my pair for a couple of months and I've had a decent amount of wear out of them and they're in good condition although I've noticed that they are starting to get a little scruffy around the toe area and the sole seems to be slowly wearing down but as mine are black this isn't noticeable from a distance and they're still nice and comfy.
Overall recommended - cheap, stylish and comfortable leather look ankle boots. Four out of five stars.
~*~*~ New Look Double Buckle Ankle Boots ~*~*~
As you may have seen from previous reviews of mine, I am a total sucker for shoes/boots/slippers etc! And due to me being a total sucker I have no aquired a pair of these boots from New Look.
~ What are they? ~
These are a short ankle boot, they come in two colours tan or black and have buckle details to the outside of each boot. They are a flat style making them suitable for everyday wear. They are made from a synthetic man-made material.
They are also very on trend and brilliant for the autumn months.
~ Why did I buy these? ~
I bought these to replace a pair I had last year. I bought a pair in Asda last year from the childrens section actually as they caught my eye and were the style I wanted. But after lots of wear over the autumn/winter/spring they started to not only look a bit tatty around the edges but the 'leather' look material on one of the boots started peeling away so they were not suitable to be worn anymore unfortunately, so for a while I have been on the look for a replacement for these boots.
I got a lot of use out of my previous pair and I was gutted when I could no longer wear them, these style boots are so easy to wear with anything so you can imagine my glee when I saw these in the larger New Look store we have close to where I live.
As they were only £19.99 I had to get them, I chose them in the tan colour as I feel more comfortable in tan rather than black and I haven't long had a pair of shorter black boots anyway.
The boots are nice and simple, they have two dirty gold buckles on the outside of each boot and stitched panels and they have a nice aged leather look about them. They were a perfect replacement for my old boots!
The sole is really flat at the front but they do have a very small heel to them, not a heel as such but they are not totally flat.
~ Overall Opinion ~
As you can see I really liked the look of these boots but of course it is important for a pair of boots to be comfortable when you are wearing them and these certainly are.
I slip my feet into them and they don't feel tight, they don't cause blisters or rub so are perfect.
I bought them in my usual size 5 and they are the perfect fit so I couldn't ask for more. I like them, I like the look, how easy they are to wear and the fact they can be worn with lots of things in my wardrobe means these will be a pair of boots that will be worn quite a lot.
I particularly like wearing them with my light denim skinny jeans and chunky jumper as it all goes so well together. They are a great versatile pair of boots, that look really trendy and nice.
~ Availability & Price ~

They are available in sizes 3 through to 9.
Thanks for reading :o) x
Quite often when buying cheaper shoes they end up hurting my feet and I end up hardly ever wearing them, meaning that even though they didn't cost much they still ended up a waste of money. When I bought these boots I did wonder whether that might be the case here as these only cost £20 from New Look but I am glad to report that I have been wearing them a fair bit and haven't had any problems with them so they have worked out great value.
These are lovely looking ankle boots in my opinion. Ankle boots are really in this autumn and there are loads all over the high street. These particular ones come in a tan brown colour as pictured, which is what I bought, or also in black. They go with a lot of things and I mainly wear them either with skinny jeans or with dresses and leggings. I really like the brown as it is not too dark but more of a warm medium tan shade, meaning it goes great with my favourite tan handbag and works with tan belts etc. I already have some darker brown boots so these were just what I needed! As they have the double buckle they are not too plain and boring, and it adds some interest. Other than that they are quite plain so I think this makes them quite a good all rounder. The toe is not too pointed and not too rounded, so just a normal slightly tapered round shape.
As they only cost £20 it is not surprising that these boots are not real leather. They are synthetic material. It does look quite leather like from a distance, but up close you can see they aren't. The material has a slightly "distressed" look to it, which does not look tatty but just attempts to make it look a bit more like slightly worn in leather. It some lights the boots have a slight shine to them which looks slightly more plasticky than leather but in day light and normal circumstances the material doesn't stick out as too cheap looking. When touching them they are a bit harder than leather. The insides are lined with a thin but soft material, meaning the hard fake leather does not rub against my feet and they are comfy.
When wearing them I find them comfy. They are flat with a fairly thin sole but I can't overly feel the pavement under my feet or anything - they are definitely not so flimsy that you feel every last stone and bit of gravel like with some cheaper shoes! When wearing them for longer periods my feet have felt fine. I did not have any pain in the balls of my feet, which was the main concern which I had been half expecting, as I sometimes get it from cheap flats. They don't pinch my toes either. As they are ankle boots, they are secure on my feet and don't slip at the ankle this is great for me as I seem to have skinny ankles compared to the rest of my feet, and shoes often slip at the heel and ankle. These can even be slightly tightened at the ankle by adjusting the top buckle, as it has three holes. I have just left my boots' buckle on the middle one for now and this seems okay for me. They seem to be true to size as I got my usual size 6 and this fits well.
I have worn them out in light rain and they withstood this fine. I was not out for long and tried not to get my feet too wet, so I can't speak for how well they would hold up for a long walk in a serious bout of torrential rain but for walking a few mins to the tube in rain my feet and socks remained completely dry and the boots did not get any marks or discolouration from the rain water.
Over all I have been really happy with my purchase and I am definitely getting my value out of them this autumn. They look really nice and they are versatile and match with loads of outfits, so if you are looking for an ankle boot which doesn't break the bank but is still decent, then I would recommend trying a pair of these.
