Advantages: Comfortable, look good, cheap
Disadvantages: The quality is a bit iffy compared to some others
I have these boots in both black and brown as I originally bought them in brown and liked them so much that I bought the black too.
They are from New Look which is a shop where I buy loads of my shoes as I really like the fact that I can buy the newest fashions and not have to spend an absolute fortune on them. I can usually buy about 5 pairs of shoes in New Look for the price of one in some other shops. They are all usually made fairly well and although they usually won't last you for years for the money you should get plenty of wear out of them.
The buckle boots are made with manmade materials but from a distance these could easily pass for leather. I personally think that they look much more expensive than they actually were. They were only £19.99 and I have very similar boots which I bought from Debenhams a few years ago that cost me nearer to £80.
They have a double buckle on them which is more for fashion than practicality as I can get the boots on and off without ever having to touch the buckle. They do look good though and the brass coloured buckles on the brown boots and the silver coloured ones on the black boots really stand out and just give the boots a little bit more in the way of design.
These boots have a slight heel to just give me a slight raise when wearing them. Personally I would have preferred if the heel was slightly bigger but it does mean that they are extremely comfortable to wear. I have worn these for everything from walking the dog to doing the supermarket shop and never have I felt like they are hurting my feet or pinching them. The fact that they are ankle boots means that they don't scrape my heels and I could honestly wear these for hours without them ever feeling uncomfortable.
The one area of concern that I have with these boots is that the sole is really thin. Although it is hard so that when I am walking I don't feel anything under foot the soles don't seem to be attached securely and I have already noticed that on my black pair that the sole is coming loose on the front of the boots. I have remedied this by super gluing it back down but it is small things like this where you can tell the difference in quality between these and more expensive boots.
Other than the sole they seem to be holding up well and I think I should definitely get the rest of the winter out of them and as I have already worn them loads I think they were well worth under £20 each.
Summary: These boots were definitely made for walking!
