“ Brand: New Look / Type: Peep Toe „
I was looking for a new pair of shoes recently for an engagement party we were going to, I popped into my local New Look to see what they had and immediately spotted these very pretty lacy looking court shoes, they were just what I was looking for and at £24.99 not too badly priced. The colour choices were black or gold, I opted for gold although in my opinion they are not what I would call gold they are more of an ivory/nude colour. The Floral Peep Toe Satin shoes are what I would call a court shoe, the shoe has a satin finish, with a lovely lacy covering which is described as a crochet effect, this is a very good description because it does look like a crochet covering over all the shoe apart from the heel this is just plain satin. The shoes have a small cut-out at the toe and a 4.5 inch heel, they also have a small platform which is done so it looks built into the sole of the shoe rather than added to the bottom of it, this is only approximately 1/4 inch so it doesn't really take any of the heel height away when you are wearing them. The heel is quite narrow but the shoes don't feel unstable when wearing them. I have been really pleased with these shoes, I bought a size 6, my usual size, which is a 39 euro and they fit perfectly, the peep toe doesn't rub against my toes nor did the back of the shoe rub my heels. They feel nicely balanced when I walk in them and despite the heel height they were comfortable. I wore them the first time for an engagement party, the reason I bought them, and I danced most of the evening so I was pleased they turned out to be so comfy and didn't rub anywhere. Despite being really pleased with the peep toe satin shoes I do find that the heel marks very easily, especially on the lighter colour, I bought some cleaner for mine and have been able to remove the little marks but I wouldn't want to go out in them in wet weather. Having said that I certainly would recommend them, in my personal opinion I think they are more of an occasion or evening shoe especially the colour I bought, I wouldn't wear these in the day just for shopping or for work. I can recommend the New Look Floral Peep Toe Satin Shoes, apart from being very pretty they are comfortable despite the heel, they don't rub me anywhere, they look glamorous for an occasion or an evening out and they didn't break the bank. Despite the heels marking I would buy them again and am really tempted to get them in the black too.
THE DESIGN A pair of heeled satin shoes from New Look. The heel height is 4.5" and there is a very small 1/4" platform. They are available in a choice of black and nude with gold overlay, the shoe is satin with a floral lace covering. THE FIT I bought size 4 and the sizing is accurate in the nude/gold pair I have. They are comfortable and stable to walk in, with the heel being strong and proportionate to the style of the shoe. The peep toe is very small but stylish in shape. COMFORT These are high heels so uncomfortable by definition, the sole is soft and doesn't make the balls of my feet ache or burn. The arch of the shoe is very steep so it's the base of my heel that aches if I have been standing. They are easy to walk in but because of the heel height are for women experienced in walking in high heels, the platform is so small as to be negligible. HOW DO THEY WEAR? I bought these shoes last month and have worn them three times. This is not very much and so the shoes remain in new condition apart from slight scuffing to the sole. The gold lace and satin base are clean and I know the lace will wipe clean if they get lightly soiled, the construction of the shoes is solid and stitching is tight on all seams. ANYTHING ELSE? The shoes are available from size 4 to size 9 and cost £24.99 5 Dooyoo Stars.
You know how sometimes, even in your thirties, your mum insists on buying you something when you go shopping, even though you're old enough to fund your own shopping habits? Well, I recently experienced one of those occasions in New Look when I was browsing with my mum. I fell in love with these shoes, but couldn't really justify the non-essential purchase given that I've spent far too much on beauty products lately, so my mum insisted on buying them for me as a treat. She's a lovely woman. Anyway, the shoes are quite frankly, beautiful. The New Look website describes these as "gold satin effect", but I would describe them as peach personally. They have some gorgeous delicate lace style detail on them, and they have a lovely satin like sheen to them which makes them stand out even though the colour is fairly neutral. When I first saw these shoes, I could visualise them with an outfit I had in mind for a special occasion I have coming up. I don't really own many pairs of shoes, so I'm quite restricted on matching with outfits when I'm going out. Most of the shoes I own are black, so I thought these would be a refreshing change. The shoes looked like they would be very uncomfortable, but to be honest, they fit like a glove. They have a platform raised sole, which isn't as difficult to walk in as you'd think, and the heels are high for me, 4.5 inches according to New Look's website. The heels are quite thin, as you can see, but I still seem to be able to balance myself quite well in these, which is unusual because not only do I rarely wear heels, but I'm also very clumsy. As you can see from the picture, they are open toe shoes, and this gives the chance to show off your perfectly painted toe nails on a night out! They are extremely feminine, and however glum I'm feeling it's impossible not to be cheered up by wearing these. Not only were they perfect for the outfit I wore them with, but they also go really well with jeans and they're a little different to the usual black shoes I wear. As for comfort, well lets be honest, I don't think anyone expects to be able to wear shoes like this for any long distance walking. But for a night out, I found them perfectly comfortable, and as long as I concentrate on my walking, I feel well balanced and very elegant. I would say though, that I'm not a big dancer on nights out, I'm getting to an age where I like to find a seat and stay there, so if you're a big dancer, these may not be so comfortable by the end of the night! I wear these shoes when I know I'm going somewhere I won't be in agony in after wearing them, for a meal for example. When I first started wearing these shoes, I was a bit precious about getting them dirty for example when I saw muddy patches or puddles. I only tend to wear them when the weather is decent because I think if you got them dirty they'd be quite difficult to get clean. So far, I've not had any issues with staining or anything, and they still look in good condition after a few trips out. Overall, these shoes are very beautiful, and at £24.99 provide excellent value for money. Thanks mum!
