      Very helpful

A great winter warmer, fun and fabulous.

With the UK firmly in winter's grip, it certainly gets chilly around the house, particularly when walking around barefoot! Although I'm generally not much of a slipper person, when I spotted these boots in New Look, I had to snap a pair up!

The boots cost £9.99, and I was impressed at the price of these, as I had a look in Accessorize at their slipper boots, and found they retail at about £30, which for me as a student, is far too much to pay! Why pay over the odds for something when you can get something just as nice for less?!

For some reason Dooyoo haven't included the pic, however the slippers are white, ankle length slipper boots. The design features colourful hearts on the outside, with a couple of girly pom poms either side of the slipper, attached by a piece of pink ribbon. The design on the front appears "knitted" but this is essentially fine stitching, and they even have little specs of glitter on them too! On the inside, is a soft white fluffy material - perfect for keeping those tootsies toasty!

The boots come in 3 sizes, and being a size 6, I bought medium which seem to fit pretty well if not being a tiny bit too big, having said that I'm guessing "medium" has to cover a number of sizes and it's no big deal, they are very comfy afterall!

I'm not someone who wears Ugg boots or anything like that, so generally this style of shoe wouldn't normally appeal to me. These boots aren't exactly like Ugg boots as they only cover your ankles, however they appealed to me, especially as the outside looks so pretty. They are fairly practical for walking around in, although as I'm currently in student accommodation I haven't yet managed the "stair test". I also appreciate the fact they are winter boots, yet are not Christmassy so you can wear them for those mid year cold snaps too. I do find however, I have to double check when leaving in the mornings to ensure I'm not about to walk out with them still on my feet! They are that comfy I sometimes forget to take them off!!

Now in terms of downsides, these slippers are not waterproof as they are made from a soft material. They are also white, meaning if you spilt something on them then you would have to wash them in the washing machine. Unfortunately, it doesn't mention washing instructions on the label, however I think they should be alright maybe on a delicates wash.

I've had these boots for a few weeks now, and I am very glad I bought them. I can come in from a cold, harsh day, stick the heating on, and replace my outdoor shoes with these slipper boots. I just need a cup of tea then I'm happy!

These boots also come in a couple of other designs, I think I have seen them in grey and leopard print, although they do appear to be extremely popular as they now appear in the New Look web banner ads you get on certain sites. If you are looking for a new pair of slippers I would definitely recommend these. As they cover your ankles, they really do trap the heat in unlike conventional backless slippers, and you are also less likely to trip on them as they fit snugly to your feet, rather than you having to maintain a good grip when walking about.

Although they may not be to everyone's taste, particularly girls who hate pink (although theres just a bit of pink on these and it looks nice against the white!) they certainly are perfect for this time of year when it's cold, and you want to be warm and comfortable when indoors. At £9.99, they are perhaps slightly dearer than Primark, but also much cheaper than places such as Accessorize and Debenhams. I would say these boots are very well made too, so you are certainly not loosing quality for paying less.

In terms of rating these slippers, I struggle to fault them, other than it would have been perfect if they were done to individual sizes instead of S/M/L. Having said that, they are slippers not shoes, and are very comfortable! I'm certainly glad I purchased them, and hopefully they will last for a few winters yet.

These slippers can be bought instore, or from New Looks website...
