“ Brand: New Look / Type: Sandals „
i have looked at this style of gladiator sandle over the last two years quite often in the shops as they are a very popular style right now but i had always vered away from buying them as i prefer a sandle with a heel on it and it is very very rare i wear flat shoes or sandles but wholst looking for something suitable for this summer i thought that a flatter sandle may be better with me being pregnant so opted for these.
these cost me £14.99 from new look and are available in womens sizes in two colours black or white, they are also available for children too.
what attracted me to this pair rather than any others in this style that i had looked at was the detail on the front which sadly you cant see in the picture above but the way the laces on the sandle have been wrapped around each other gives a very feminin look to these making them a lot prittyer than others i had seen.
they have a zip at the back which i was expecting to feel uncomfortable to start with but it didnt there has been no rubing in these sandles no matter how warm the weather has been over the last few weeks and i have worn them for long periods of time too.
i was a little worried they would mark easily and look scruffy quickly with them being white but they havent and a quick wipe over every now and then with a baby wipe has kept them looking lovely.
i would recomend these to all for this summer as they fit snugly and comfortably no matter how hot you get
I've never tried gladiator sandals before but they go so well with all the long dresses that are around I thought I would give them a try. I bought a pair of white gladiator sandals from my local New Look, They cost £9.99 as they has some money off, the regular price is £14.99.
They are called Knotted Wedge Sandals and are the traditional gladiator style. They are available in 2 colours, black or white, I bought white ones. The sandals are made from a synthetic material and have a small 4cm wedge heel. The gladiator sandals are very strappy as you would expect from this style. There are 10 sets of straps going across the foot up to the ankle. These are rounded to give them a shoe lace look, they are crossed over in the middle giving a nice plat effect. This is actually what drew me to these particular sandals. This is a very nice little detail and gives the front of the sandal a feminine look.
The heel is filled in right up to the back of the ankle, there is a zip running up the back of the ankle and also a small strap which fastens around your ankle with a small silver buckle.
Now as I said I've never worn this style of sandal before but I have found them to be comfortable. I had no problem with the straps rubbing or the ankle strap cutting in. The filled in heel did feel a bit strange at first but they soon felt at home on my feet. They have a reasonably thick sole so my feet didn't ache when I was pounding pavements round the shops either. I've worn mine with a long print dress and they looked great. I wore mine in the day as I don't think they are really the sort of thing I would wear for an evening out. I wouldn't wear these with trousers or shorts because in my opinion they can look a bit "boyish", I really think they need to go with a dress or skirt although the nice little plait detail up the front does give them quite a girly feel.
I would recommend these sandals, they are very comfortable and when worn with a dress or skirt do look good. They seem well made and the stitching is all neat, they were a good price too. If you are unsure of this style of sandal I would recommend giving them a try.
These are only available from New Look or www.newlook.com.
