I've always been on the search for the perfect pair of black heels and I definitely found them with this pair. I usually look for heels in New Look as they are a fairly cheap price and I trust them to be good quality and feel safe wearing them which I think is very important with heels.
The platform gives a me a few extra centimetres height (about 5/6inches altogether) and I think a small platform on heels looks much better, they are not the highest heels I own and not the smallest but they are most definitely the comfiest and easiest to walk in (not that I'm that great at that part...) so they are the pair I wear most.
I was first worried at buying leather shoes as I thought they would be tough to break in and easily scuff, I've worn them quite a few times and it took about 3 wears (for up to about 5 hours) to break them in properly. The platform bit manages to stop any scuffing and they still look as great as when I first bought them.
I don't wear heels very often (only for the occasional night out) but I'm sure if you can put up with the general pain from heels you could wear these everyday.
Beautifully simple design, with a rounded toe, thick platform and a generously sized stilleto type heel, which i can assure you gives you plenty of extra height; an estimate of 6 inches. Ofcourse the fact that the heel's like a twig doesn't really help inexperienced heel wearers like me walk elegantly but they're certiannly good shoes to practice in. They're probably my heighest pair of heels and although they're not the comfortablest, i can't really complain; pain is beauty! The fact the platform (under the toes) is so thick (1 inch) cushions the toes and upper sole well, taking a slight amount of pressure off. They really are beautifully simple and are ideal for matching with smart work wear or simple party dresses but wouldn't look out of place with jeans or shorts either. They add height brilliantly, and as i'm only 5'3, bring me right up to the 5'9 mark which is a huge confidence boost! They give the legs a long, slender position and once you've had a bit of practice they give the illusion of elegant, glided walking.
Not a shoe to be walking around in for long! Puts alot of pressure on the toes although the platform does slightly help. When worn in the right size they hug the foot well allowing peace of mind they won't slip off. Easy to slip on as there's no fiddly straps getting in the way. The upper is leather and is nice and although it's firm, it's soft and feels much better than the usual plasticy types materials used on this type of shoe.

Pricing and Value:
Per pair of courts is £30 which i feel is a brilliant price. The quality's good, and they're extremely similar to higher end courts that are double the price, sometimes more. Although you won't get an enormous amount of wear out of them (unless you're used to very high heels), they give confidence and height and due to the simple factor they're very discreet and versatile.
As many people now know, I have a large shoe collection and a good majority of recent reviews have been about the shoes that I own, and this one is no exception. One of my basic shoes are my New Look Leather Court Shoes.
These look pretty much the same as any other court shoes you can buy, but there is quite a high heel on these shoes, which is what mainly attracted me to them in the first place. The front of the shoes are round toed, and there is a slight platform on the front of the shoes to help balance out the heel and enable you to walk properly whilst wearing them.
The heel is almost stilletto type, so you will need a little bit of previous experience in walking in high, skinny heels as these are not exactly the type of shoes that will gently break you into the world of walking in high heels. The inside of the shoes provides a good padding, so that your feet will be comfortable whilst wearing them, and the leather on the shoes is actually of a pretty good quality, especially as the shoes are quite cheap to buy.
After a little while of practice, I found that walking in these shoes was fine, but I have worn heels a lot in my life. The heel feels very stable, and I have never felt them wobble or wain whilst I am walking. I do not get the feeling these would snap or break at any time, unless I happen to somehow get stuck in a metal grate!
I am really happy with these shoes, and they make for a great work shoe as they go really well with most outfits I wear. I have worn them on nights out, but not been so happy with the decision half way into the night. After a long wear, these make my feet ache quite badly. The height of the heel pushes your foot forwards, which can easily cause ache in your feet. I found this happens to me with a lot of high heels, so I do not think this is mainly the fault of the shoes themselves.
The shoes do not cause any other pain though, there has never been any problems with soreness, or pinching or rubbing. Even when brand new these did not cause any problems on the heels, which is usually my bad spot when it comes to new shoes.
I have had these shoes a few months now, and they are still looking pretty good. Being leather they do show some wear and tear, but there is not a lot on there and I do not think that they show as much wear as I have had from them. The heel is still as sturdy as they day I bought them, and they are still just as comfy as the day I bought them too.
You can buy these shoes in New Look stores, in sizes 3 - 8 (9 in some of the larger stores) for £29.99. I think this is actually a really good price, as the shoes are leather, hard wearing and look great. They are really good value for the price you pay, and I believe there is still a lot of wear left in the pair I own. You can also buy these shoes on www.newlook.com and have them delivered to your home, but delivery charges will apply if you buy them this way.
I really love these shoes, and I give them a 5 out of 5 stars. I totally recommend them, but make sure you can walk in high heels before buying them.
I'm a self-confessed shoe addict and over the years I had become a bit of a shoe snob especially when purchasing heels and have spent a small fortune on pairs which cost over £100+. My wakeup call came when a pair of £90 shoes were ruined on their first wear on a night out. So rather than literally throw my money in the bin I decided for night out and less special occasions to head to places like New Look for shoes that were stylish yet excellent value. This is how I came about owning New Look Leather Court Shoes.
***New Look Leather Court Shoe***
New Look Leather Court shoes are an almond toed pair of platform court shoes. The shoe has a rounded point toe with a stiletto 6 inch heel and a 1 and a half inch platform. The shoe is made from matte leather. The shoes are available in black leather or dark brown leather.
These are a very simple and classic shaped court shoe, which makes them a very versatile choice as they can be matched with formal or more casual outfits.
The shoes are available in UK sizes 3-8
The Leather Court Shoes are available in New Look stores and online. I found that my local stores only stock the black version of these shoes but the dark brown version is available online too.
I paid £29.99 for black New Look Leather Court shoes. I think that this is excellent value for money considering these are almost identical to a pair of Office Leather Court Shoes which retail at £80.
I was extremely impressed when I first spotted these shoes in my local New Look. They looked fantastic and I was very surprised to find that they were made from real leather especially as they were only priced at £29.99. Looks wise they are very attractive and feminine shoe despite being so very plain and quite a classically designed stiletto court shoe.
These are very versatile shoes and look great matched with a variety of outfits. Worn with casual skinny jeans and plain tops, a work suit and also going out dresses they look great and add leg length without being an extravagant shoe that takes the attention away from your outfit.
When I first tried the shoes on they did feel quite stiff and rigid especially around the front of the foot and where the leather touched my foot. However after only 10 minutes of wear they felt a lot softer and had moulded to the shape of my foot yet still felt like they were gripping onto my feet and not going to slip off as I walked. This makes walking in heels of this size a lot easier as you don't have to walk concentrating on trying to ensure your shoe does not slip off. The sole of the sole does have a reasonable amount of grip which makes walking on smooth surfaces like tiles or wood easier but you do still need to take care of slipping because of the heel height.
One of the biggest drawbacks to these shoes is the heel height. They have 6 inch heel and although the platform makes them feel stable and not as high as they are, it definitely does take practice walking in them and they are not for those who do not have experience of walking in high heels. I find that although high the shoes are comfortable as they did not give me blisters or pinch and have a heavily padded foot bed. This means even if you wear for long periods and are standing the soles of your feet do not feel like they are aching or burning as the section under your foot feels so padded.
Size wise I would say these are average sized length wise. I'm probably a size UK 4.5 so wear either a 4 or a 5. Because New Look do not sell these shoes in half sizes I purchased these in a size 5 and they fit well length wise but have some room but I would not have fitted into a size 4. Width wise I do have narrow feet and the shoes do feel slightly roomy but I imagine for someone with average width feet these would be a perfect fit.
The shoes are very easy to care for with being made from durable real leather. The matte appearance does not shoe up scuffs as easily as shiny leather would and you can wipe dirt or marks off the shoe with a damp cloth. Before I wore these shoes I did use a leather protector spray and have twice over the last 6 months used a black leather shoe product to ensure they stay in excellent condition.
I find not only are these a good quality pair of shoes they are very durable. I have worn these shoes at least 10 times in the last 6 months and done a considerable amount of walking. The sole of the shoe has very little wear and the heel tip is slightly worn but does not need to be replaced yet. I find this quite impressive as this is such a thin and high heel which I imagined would have worn down a lot quicker. The leather has some very light scuffs around the platform but because of the matte appearance of the leather this is not very noticeable.
These are an excellent pair of shoes and for £29.99 a complete bargain. Even though the shoes are a very low price the quality of the shoes is excellent and of the same quality as shoes you would pay £80+ for.
The design of the shoe is a very classic style which looks very feminine and elegant. The black leather makes these a very versatile pair of shoes which can be worn with an array of outfits and for various occasions.
These are a high pair of shoes, therefore most suited to those who are confident walking in heels, but are comfortable and the leather is soft which should help minimise pinching and blisters.
A pair of shoes that have converted a former shoe snob!
New Look have sold this exact design of court shoe for at least three years, I know because I remember buying a pair exactly three years ago to the day while I was shopping for an outfit to wear to my sister's birthday meal. They were £20 then, but now a pair will set you back £28.99 - which is still a very good price for a pair of good quality leather shoes.
They're plain black with a very thin 6" heel, the style is almost stiletto with only the chunky platform under the toe keeping the shoes out of 90s Essex girl territory. The platform is just under an inch high and is shaped nicely to fit in with the overall style and shape of the shoe. It doesn't make the body of the shoe look thick or stunted, this can happen with cheaper (and I could even name some not-so-cheap examples!) shoes but I'm happy to say that New Look have designed this platform perfectly.
I find the platform makes the shoe much more stable to walk in; let's face it, these shoes have very high heels by anyones standards so any help in balancing should be gratefully received! They're actually very comfortable, both to walk in and when standing around. I've worn high heels for years, although not as frequently these days, and can usually master walking in these within five minutes of putting them on. Do NOT attempt walking in these if the highest you've ventured to date is a kitten heel, these really are killer heels.
The platform also provides some comfort for the balls of my feet; being only a size four I find wearing very high heels can leave me with an intense burning on the bottoms of my feet, this strangely doesn't happen with this relatively cheap pair and I'd say they're definitely one of the most comfortable very high heeled shoes I own.
The sizing is fine (if you can be so accurate with these, New Look, why not always?), my size four foot fits perfectly into the size four Court shoe. There's no pinching or rubbing and never has been; whether you find the heel height manageable or not, you can't fault the overall comfort of the body of the shoe as it is so well shaped. The shoes reach the perfect way up my feet to give a classy (yet still sexy) look, think naughty secretary and you'll probably have these shoes just right. The thin tapering heel shows a playful feminine, while the style and fit of the shoe itself helps you show you mean business.
I'm more than impressed with the longevity of these shoes. For twenty quid I've had three years of pretty regular wear and they still look as good as new, the leather does get grubby looking so when I've worn them I always put them out for cleaning next time I see Mark's got the Kiwi out. The shoes are still sturdy around my foot, and being a natural fabric they have moulded themselves nicely to the shape of my foot.
What would I wear these with? The question should be what I WOULDN'T wear them with! The first time I wore them was with a trouser suit and I'd never have thought I could have looked so professional! I've since worn these shoes anytime I want to make a high-heeled impact, but when the situation isn't really appropriate for brighter colours or garish designs. They looked great at a pyjama party I went to, wearing a short lacy babydoll with these sexy shoes made most of the other gals there wish they'd put more effort into their outfits than pairs of Primark PJs and ballerina slippers! pmsl!
They look equally good with jeans, and it really doesn't matter whether you team them with skinny jeans or boyfriend style - they'll still look great! I think about the only thing you couldn't get away with is these shoes and tracksuit bottoms. But then again, amazing things can be achieved with leg warmers, so don't knock it until you've tried it!
I bought these shoes on a whim - I saw them in New Look and I thought that looked good. The long, slim heel and high platform combination also reminded me of the designer shoes you see the celebs wearing. It's just a shame I didn't pay any consideration to the fact that I'd have to walk in them...
These leather court shoes retail at 29.99 and they're available on-line in sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7. But if you go in-store then you might be able to pick these shoes up a size three or eight. Considering the price, you'd expect these shoes to be made out of an un-natural material. However they are made out of leather.
The chunky platform is 2cm deep and I'd say that the heel is approximately six inches long. The toe on these shoes is supposed to be pointy, but I'd say they have more of a curve to them - they don't have an out-and-out point, but that's probably because it's quite a clunky shoe.
When you first put these heels on they are quite comfortable and they fit my wide feet well, but I do have difficulty walking in them because they're so height that I almost feel as though I'm walking on a pair of stilts.
The style itself is quite plain and other than the high heel and platform I'd say they are a fairly standard court shoe. These shoes are black and they go with virtually anything - I have been known to team them with tights and a skirt for work as well as with a bit of sparkle at the weekend.
Overall I'd say that these shoes are a sound investment if you're used to walking in high shoes, because they are good value and they're made from real leather. However, if you're not a high heel pro then you should probably stay away. I am always scared of falling in these and they do hurt my feet after a while, so if I can avoid wearing them I do... I've wasted my money really...
