Advantages: Design, easy to style, comfy, look nice

Disadvantages: Quality, value for money

I already have heaps of ballet pumps but when I saw these I just had to have them! The quilted design is really unusual for a pair of shoes and they caught my attention straight away.

They looked a lot smarter as well as more expensive than a plain pair of ballet pumps when I first bought them, however a couple of months after buying them they are looking worse for wear - they're quite battered and scratched because I've worn them so much. I managed to get mine for £10.00 in the New Look summer sale and the retail price is £20.00 which I think is a reasonable price - not extortionate, however they're similar quality to the cheap ballet pumps in Primark which are a quarter of the retail price of these so they aren't the best value for money.

The design is nice and simple while still being quite quirky and they have the same pattern as a barber jacket which are hugely in fashion at the moment. The little bow on the front is a nice touch and the plastic effect on the toe caps add a bit of subtle detailing. The diamond pattern is stitched onto the material well with no loose bits of thread or anything and the pumps, although made from a synthetic material look like real leather - even close up. The material is thick but nice and soft and it doesn't irritate my skin. The pumps are only available in one colour - black which I personally find a disadvantage as I would have preferred a wider choice of colours and also the material over time has started to crease and it is really prominent against the black background. On a plus side the smooth material is easy to clean with a wet wipe.

The rubber sole is very thin and completely flat apart from a slightly raised 1cm ish tall heel which does stop me from feeling too flat footed but it obviously adds no extra height. I don't feel like my feet are particularly supported in these shoes and they feel more like slippers than shoes as they're so flat with thin soles but because of the soft, padded insole they are easy to walk in and don't hurt my feet. Sizes available are UK3-9 I have them in a size five which is my usual size.

At first they were quite tight and stiff, especially around the back of my ankles but they soon loosened off. Unfortunately though after wearing them a few times the sides started to gape a little around the top of my feet and although I was still able to wear them they didn't feel quite as secure and I felt like they might fall off mid-step. Styling them is easy and they're suitable for casual and smart wear. I mainly wear mine with leggings or skinnies but they wouldn't look out of place dressed up a little with a bodycon and tights or work trousers etc - they're really versatile.

I've had these for a couple of months now and although they've lost the shape, are scratched and worn down on the toe area I am not too dissapointed as I got a lot of wear out of them. Had I paid full price I wouldn't be very happy though and I am glad that I got them in the sale. 3/5 Stars.
