Advantages: Look wonderful, cheap.

Disadvantages: Very uncomfortable to walk in.

Unless you have been living under a rock, it is impossible not to have noticed the current craze for nude coloured shoes. I was on the hunt for a cheap and cheerful pair and ended up buying two (this one and a Red Herring pair from Debenhams). This pair I have actually returned as I simply could not wear them for any length of time comfortably - to be fair this is probably because of my ability in high heels rather than a reflection of the shoes but here is my account of them.

These shoes look fantastic and are very much bang on trend as far as the nude colour and platform-esque heels go. I loved the fact they are patent and it is worth knowing that New Look also have this style in black. They cost £20 a pair and for that price I do think they look the part.

Unfortunately for me the heel is just far too high and I found it painful to walk more than 20 yards or so in these. I thought that the fact that the front is a stacked platform would lessen the effect of the 4.5inch spike heel but it was still too much for me. Don't get me wrong, they looked brilliant on, I just could not contemplate running round at work all day or standing round in a bar at night in them either.

I also found that because your feet are pitched so far forward the effect is that my normal size 6 felt too big and there was a gap at the back, this meant I was also continuously scrunching my toes up to hang on to the shoes, adding to the discomfort. The other side effect here was the extent of the rubbing and pinching across the top of my foot where the front of the shoe is, again I think this is because of the way your shoes are forced to sit within the body of the shoe.

Anyway, these are lovely shoes and a fab price if you can hack the walking in them but they just really were not for me.

Summary: A fab looking shoe for those who can stomach the foot pain!
