New Look Simple Ballet Pump
Advantages: price, nice colours, nude, summery, look nice, basic
Disadvantages: dirty, feet hurt
I bought these shoes before summer started because I wanted something that would be great with a simple sun dress or that I could wear as an alternative to flip flops when I went on holiday. My main priority when looking for a summer shoe was something that was light in colour so this nude ballet pump was perfect. I actually ordered them from the New Look website which isn't something I normally do because I prefer to try shoes on first. This time though I thought I'd give them a try because i knew I could return them to store of from a post office for free if they weren't right.
The shoe is a standard ballet pump style. I like that they are really simple as this means you can pair them with a multitude of outfits without having to worry about about them not matching. They have a flat rubber sole which is pretty flexible without being too thin. The front part of the shoe that covers the toe curves round to follow the natural line of the foot and there is a small bow on top. The material is very soft and flexible which makes it perfect for wearing in almost any situation, and also really easy to wear in as tougher shoes can give you blisters.
I do find when I wear them for long periods of time that the bottoms of my feet begin to ache. This is something I experience with almost any pump because I work in a bookshop where I am constantly on my feet. I do think though that if the sole were a little thicker then they might offer a bit more support but for a cheaper shoe they are certainly adequate in this department.
Though I love the nude/beige colour of the shoes I do now wish I had bought them in one of the other colours available (black, blue, red and gold). I find the nude does get dirty quite easily and this can be a little annoying. For summer though the colour is nice so I guess you just have to be willing to compromise on either look or colour.
So despite there being a few faults with these for £7.99 I think they are a bit of a bargain for a basic pump. They last me longer than primark pumps tend to and these are similarly priced.
Summary: A nice basic pump at a good price.
