New Look Slouchy Buckle Boots
Advantages: Lovely and Stylish
Disadvantages: Not excellent quality
I bought these boots several weeks ago from new look. I am a fond lover of boots so when I spotted this lovely pair I didn't hesitate to pick them up and try them on. Priced at £27.99 I found them a relatively good price to pay so I proceeded to buy them.
According to new look, these shoes are canvas and suedette cowboy style upper with chunky buckle strap and heel. I think this is a fair description of the boots although perhaps a little exaggerated with the 'cowboy style' as I personally don't see it.
I chose these shoes specifically for the winter season, the boots are lovely and thick and as they don't have much of a heel (approximately 4cm) they are not as hazardous in winter conditions as other boots may be. The boots in term of appearance are lovely, they have a two toned colour which I think makes them very interesting looking whilst still remaining subtle. They are a stony/beige colour with the top half of the boot being lighter and the bottom darker. The different colour sections are separated with a buckle, this doesn't work, it's more of a design feature but I think it looks really nice all the same.
Like with most new shoes, these had there issues when I first bought them, for the first couple of wears these really rubbed my feet and caused some discomfort but after the first week they fitted just like any other pair of my shoes and caused me no discomfort. I wouldn't say that these are the most comfortable shoes, not like flats or ugg type boots, as they have a more firmer structure, ( on the toe are and sole) they can and do still give the foot a bit of an ache at the end of the day. For normal daily use they are ok but my typical day consists of up to two hours of walking, that's when they start to become uncomfortable.
Saying that, I do still love these shoes and proceed to wear them most of the time, I would even put up with a little bit of pain for them but if I am expecting a busy day with lots of walking I will be sensible and wear a different pair of shoes. I find these shoes go with lots of different styles due to the natural colour, I would more so advice that they are worn with skinnies such as jeans, leggings or jeggings, just because I don't find they look all that nice if worn underneath clothing, they really have to be put over the trousers. I find leggings look really nice with the boots and I like the baggy look that the boots create, they make my legs look a lot thinner and the small heel also makes my legs look that little bit longer.
The only real problem I have found with these boots is the quality, the boots themselves are ok as long as they are looked after but it's the heel I have found a problem with. My heal is no longer flat, it curves round in an odd little shape, this doesn't affect the walking ability but it just has me wondering if it has worn so much in a couple of weeks that they won't last much longer. Saying that I do walk in them more than I probably should.
These shoes can be bought from new look and are available in sizes; 3-9. Although these boots have some problems I would definitely still recommend them. They are lovely and comfortable if not used for huge amounts of walking. The quality is not excellent but if looked after properly (which I haven't done) they are sure to last a good while and for such a cheap price I wouldn't have expected them to be the best.
Summary: There ok and I would reccomend
