I love shoes more than anything but heels and some wedges i just cannot walk in they kill my feet and i end up with sore feet and blisters!!!! but i saw these in my local newlook as i need a pair of shoes for a wedding so i thought i would give them a go!!
At the moment the price they are going for is £22.99 but when i bought them i was lucky to get them for £15.00 which was a bargain and they come in a variety of different colours from dark brown, black and light brown!!!!! i purchased the light brown and they were lovley on fitted me like a glove they were soooo comfy and so easy to walk in.
The wedges come in a range of sizes from 3-9
The heel is made from wood and i had no trouble walking in them i could walk round all day in them i forgot that i had them on and they didn't slip. I couldnt believe how comfy that the shoe was they are soo pain free that i didnt have any blisters off them and i didnt get sore feet from walking round in them all day!!!! they are as comfy as a flat shoe
These wedges are very fashionable that they go with anything from jeans to tights and leggings you can dress them up and you dress them down they give you hight if you need a few inches
i would advise for every woman to buy these as they are comfy cheap and fashionable.
This is one of my favourite pairs of shoes that I own. And they were such a bargain at £15 reduced in New Look. As soon as I saw them I liked them, and when I saw the price I just had to have them! (or maybe they were cheaper for me because I had a voucher, either way they were still cost me just £15 which is way cheaper than most heels you can find on the high street these days)
I fell in love straight away with their gorgeous looking shape and colour. They have a really lovely wooden wedge which contrasts perfectly with the nude leather-look shoe part. They look suitable for day time wear and you could probably get away with wearing them at night, too. I hardly took these off all week when I went on holiday (but I did have quite tired feet by the end of it!).
Despite the fact I normally can't stand up for more than five minutes (ok bit of an exaggeration there lol, but I do sometimes find really tall heels tricky to walk in) in heels, I actually find these very easy to walk in. I think this is because of the wedge which seems to help my balance better than thin little stilettos which are an absolute nightmare for me to try to tottle around in. These are fairly comfortable when worn for just a couple of hours. Any longer than this though and my feet do start to ache a little bit. Ah well, its worth it, these seem to elongate my legs because they are quite close shades of colour and don't have any straps. Someone even came up to me once and said that I had very long legs, when I was wearing these! Result!
The sole is wooden but not really like proper strong wood. However I do think these will last me a while; they went through a whole week of hardly being taken off in hot weather on holiday and survived without getting any scuffs or scracthes on them. They might not fare so well in the rain though.
Overall I love these, the style, the price, the quality and the comfort. There is nothing I can say about them that I don't like. So, I would definitely recommend them :)
The smart wedge courts are a mixture between courts and wedges, with the upper of the shoe identical to an heel upper with a rounded toe and high quality leather-look man made suedette lining. Like most heels they're very open on the actual front exposing the surface apart from the toes, with no fiddly buckles/straps and so are easy to slip on. The bottom resembles a heeled wedge with what can only be described as wooden detailing, with a genuine leather soled high wedge, which is nice and chunky. Not sure what material the wedge is, as it's hard but definetly not wood or plastic. The fact these are labeled a courts is a tad confusing as they do resemble heels but not particulary courts, as courts are in my opinion defined by the length of the heel and these obviously have no proper heel and basically consist of a thick wedge with the top half of a heel stuck on the top, which i assure you looks better than it sounds! The base (the wedge), is strong and sturdy and much easier to walk in then actual courts, and gives extra support as it's not like balancing on stilts, and the high quality soles and inner cushion the feet when walking. They're simply designed and not over the top - i wouldn't souly describe them as a party shoe and wouldn't think they'd look out of place on a shopping trip or at college/work/uni depending on the rules at your particular place of work/education.
The shoe overall is pretty simple and although not a huge wedge it does give height (estimate 4 inches), and is easier than most high shoes to walk in. As the wedge is thick and covers the entire surface of the bottom of the shoe it allows support and comfort.
I'll be wearing these alot due to the comfort and casual look to them; they look great with jeans and shorts aswell as party dresses so i'd say they're very versatile and on the summery side due to the light colouring of the shoe.
Sizing and Colour Options:
Sizes: UK 3-8
Colours Available: Beige, Cream, Baby Pink, Tan.
The colours as mentioned before are more of a summery colour as they're all light, making it easy for scuffs and dirt to shoe up. Personally i'd never dream of sticking them in a washing machine and prefer to clean any specks of dirt off them with a baby wipe which works wonders.
So far my pair have seemed very durable, and considering they retail at a very reasonable £25, seem good quality and haven't scuffed even after plenty of wear in the 3 weeks since i've had them. They hug the foot well (when bought in the right size), and unlike most courts do actually stay on properly and there's no worry of them slipping off. The heel's not flimsy or cheap like most shoes and i'd say that it's very sturdy.
Reccomended to anyone who likes the look of them; you'll get plenty of wear out of them.
I've been after a pair of wedges to wear this summer, and after a massive shoe-cupboard clear out (and by massive, I'm talking around 40 pairs) I thought I deserved a little treat!
New Look always seems to have a pair of shoes that I like, and they didn't let me down!
The colour of these shoes is absolutely lovely and so on trend. This season nude colours have carried over again, that's beige, cream, soft pink and even tan. A nude coloured shoe is perfect to have as they just go with absolutely everything, and these wedges are no exception. They'll go with pretty much anything and they suit just about every ocassion too; I've worn them with skinny jeans and an oversized jumper for a casual dinner, with demin highwaisted shorts and a vest for a day out with the in-laws and with chinos and a leopard print top for a night out with friends.
The shoe itself is court-shoe style, so if you're like me and you struggle to keep a court shoe on (because of the lack of a buckle, zip or strap) then you'll probably need to pop a half insole in the front to stop it slipping off at the back. Other than that, these wedges are surprisingly easy to walk in and the soles are quite hardwearing. Unfortunately, I did get a little scuff on the front of one shoe when I was out, but it's barely noticable.
Overall, this shoe is a perfect, summer piece and because they're so hardwearing they'll be pretty much as good as new for next summer as well! And even if they do get a little scuffed (because you'll want to wear them every day) ther're such a little bargain you won't mind at all. The colour is timeless and the style is so on trend, you'd be mad to miss this little buy!
As you will see from previous reviews I do have rather a large shoe collection which of course is ever growing. One of my many pairs includes the New Look Court Wedge Shoe, I do get quite a few pairs of shoes from New Look as I have found them to last reasonably well and are also reasonably priced, some more expensive shoes I have purchased especially for work have not lasted as long as my New Look ones. My Court Wedge shoes were not a planned purchase I just happened to be browsing in my local New Look to pass a bit of time (never a good idea) and spotted them, totally different to anything else I have and I also quite liked the colour, they looked like a pair of shoes that would go with most things whatever the occasion so I had to get them.
The Court Wedge shoes look like any other pair of court shoes in terms of shape, they have a round toe and have the classic scooped shape, there are no straps at all they simply slip onto your feet. The whole shoe is quite rounded, the part of the shoes which covers your toes stops just past the end of your toes so that as with most court shoes the whole top part of your foot is exposed. Whereas all of my other court shoes have a thin stiletto type heel or even a slightly thicker heel, these particular pair of court shoes have a very large wooden looking wedge heel, I'm not too sure what the heel is made of but it is solid giving the impression that it is strong and hardwearing. As well as having the very high wedge heel the shoes have a small platform at the front of the shoe, this does lessen the angle your foot sits at making them very comfortable to wear, the wedge area has a small plastic cover/ sole piece right on the back of it where all the pressure comes from your heel, I'm not too sure what this does exactly I can only assume it is to help protect this area from excess wear and tear, it is only a couple of millimetres thick and only a couple of centimetres long so it does not cover the whole of the wedge heel. The wedge heel and platform at the front are moulded together to make this look like one continuous piece that the court shoe sits on, as I have said it has a wooden appearance to it, there are lines going all the way around the wedge and platform this gives the idea that they are made from thinner layers placed on top of each other, however this is just for visual effect and the heel and wedge are one continuous piece.
The top part of the New Look Court Shoes covers your heel, toes and sides of your feet leaving the top area of your foot totally uncovered, the shape of these shoes is very traditional and is the same shape as the stereotypical court shoes, there are no fancy straps or decoration this area of the shoe is very plain. It is made from a leather look material, personally I do not think the shoes look cheap or plasticy as with some leather look shoes, they are also of a reasonable thickness giving the impression that the shoes will be hardwearing. The insides of the shoes are also very plain and are made from a brown coloured textile with the New Look logo on them as with all New Look shoes, they are not padded in anyway but on the other hand are soft on your feet and comfortable to wear.
The New Look Court Shoes cost me just £24.99 which personally I feel is an excellent price as I have seen similar shoes sold in other shops for a lot more and they do not look of a lot better quality. I have worn my shoes on several occasions now, I wear them when I go out rather than for work but they are in excellent condition and look as good as new. The shoes come in two colours black and the ones I have, light brown, I went for this colour as either colour is a colour which would go with most things, but I do have a lot of black shoes and the light brown ones were totally different to anything else I have. Because the heels are wedge heels they have worn extremely well and no part of them has worn down at all, I often find with thinner stiletto heels after just a few wears they need re-heeling but this is not the case with these shoes, the wedge heel is extremely strong and hardwearing.
What I particularly like with these shoes is they are suitable for any occasion, they are the sort of shoes I can wear with most outfits and they are very comfortable to wear meaning they are ideal for a day out or a night on the town, I have had no problems with these shoes making my feet sore even after the first time of wearing them, the insides of the shoes are very soft on your feet meaning no blisters at all. The shoes come in a variety of sizes ranging between size 4 to size 8, these are the sizes both in store and online, however the sizes available will vary depending on what branch of New Look you shop in.
Overall I have been very impressed with my New Look Court Shoes, they were very reasonably priced at £24.99 and are extremely hardwearing, mine have had several outings now and still look as good as they day I brought them. In my opinion these shoes are ideal for any occasion and any outfit, they are casual enough to wear on a day/ night out but are also smart enough to wear for work should you wish. The style of the heel including the platform at the front of the shoe makes them very easy to wear, whilst the wedge heel is very high perfect if you are not overly tall like me, the platform does help to reduce the steepness of the angle your foot sits at making them kinder to your feet. This is definitely a product I would recommend to anyone who loves their heels.
I love my heels but I simple just can not walk in them all day long I suffer with a weak ankle from falling down some stairs a few years ago, so when I seen this I thought I would give them ago they looked comfortable and the heel was not a heel but a wedge! So I had a bit more support.
This are now selling at £24.99, however when I brought them they were selling at £15.00 a real bargain, there were so many colours to choose from, there was dark brown, black and light brown as well as many more colours in swede for the same price I brought these and a pair of dark purple swede ones which are both extremely comfortable and so easy to walk in. Perfect for those who struggle to walk in heels, they come in a variety of sizes from 3 to 9 and even come in a wide fit shoe also. New Look really have covered every kind of foot!!!
The heel is made of wood and the shoe of leather or swede depending on which you prefer, I have had no trouble with the leather or swede even in the rain, unlike most heels too they are extremely grippy so no more slipping and sliding around your town in the rain or on a shinny surface.. so that puts an end to the embarrassing little mishaps of shopping. The shoe is so comfortable and leaves no blisters even whilst you are wearing them in. It is a real pain free shoe! These could well be as comfortable has my dolly shoes!
The wedges are a great new look this season and go well with everything from jeans to dresses and leggings and even with linen trousers, I personally wear mine with linen as I am simply just not tall enough and even the small size linen are far too long from me, so I benefit from the height adjustment.
The shoes are very sturdy and I have had no problems with the materials what so ever and they are so easy to clean and care for. I was wearing my swede shoes the other day and got caught out in a rain shower and I really thought my shoes would be ruined however they were not and once they dried they were like new and once I brushed the mud off which was also easy to do.
Every female should own a pair as they are the perfect fashion accessory this season so is defiantly a must have! You never know they might even still be £15.00 in your local New Look store!
==Smart Court Wedges From New Look==
I am terrible when it comes to shoes and even more so when it comes to wedged shoes! I was meant to be just browsing through New Look on line but when I came across these particular shoes I could hardly resist seeing as they were on special offer. I ended up spending nearly £100 on various different shoes so it looks as though I am pretty terrible at browsing!
The shoes themselves were originally £24.99p but are at the moment are a mere snip at £15! There was a choice of three different colours when I purchased my pair but I know now there is only a choice of two. The remaining two colours are the back and the Cedar (a sort of light grey brown shade) but there was also a dark brown pair that were available at the time I purchased my pair. I decided on opting for the Cedar (although I was tempted to get them in all three shades for a while) mainly because I didn't have a shoe in this colour and in appearance it seemed to "look" the most expensive choice.
The shoes arrived a few days after I had ordered them and I couldn't wait to get them on. Of course when Himself saw how many pairs I had got he exclaimed I would never be able to wear all these shoes as there aren't enough days in the week so I have been wearing different pairs around the house just to prove that they are getting the use!
I am a size 6 and of course this is the size I ordered but unfortunately they seemed just a tad to big and did keep slipping off of my feet. I had some heel grips in the cupboard and once these were in place the shoes fitted perfectly but of course this is not really ideal. Having worn them a little bit more they seemed to stretch even further causing me to go out and purchase a thicker style of heel grips that is literally like a wedge of foam at the back of the heel. This does work well but on reflection I probably could have got away with a size 5 in this particular shoe.
However it has to be said that the shoe does look good and is pretty easy to walk in. The wedged heel is a good height at around 4 inches but because it is a wedged heel it is really simple to walk in and after an afternoon shopping my feet are not aching too much. The shoes are imitation leather but they do have a lovely suedette lining which make the feet grip nicely to the inside when walking.
The Cedar colour that I chose was really lovely and looked just like a creamy mocha colour which seem to really work well with my coat and my black skinny jeans! The heel of the wedge is a faux wooden one and is a light brown type of colour. This looks nice and has seemed to keep its appearance well. I was under the impression that the heel could be easily chipped but this seemed not to be the case as they look more or less good as new.
They are easy to clean and any scuffs I have got on them have been easily removed with a damp cloth and a little speck of washing up liquid. The look of the shoe is said to be distressed leather on the website but I can't really see this too much when looking at the shoe. They seem to be made to a fairly high standard too and I have had no problems with them in that respect but I would think if I was wearing them day in and day out, they might not last as long as a sturdy pair of Clark's!
In general I find these shoes really good. The only downside I can see was that I feel I could of got away with buying a size smaller to get that perfect fit without having to use the heel grips. They do however look good and feel good to wear. The price was very good in my opinion when comparing them to a lot of other wedged shoes that I have personally bought.
All in all I rate these shoes really highly and I think a score of 4 out of 5 stars is in order. The minus mark is really for the sizing of it which I think is slightly out as I never have had this problem with any shoes from New Look before but perhaps this is my fault for not changing them when I first got them.
That said I still love 'em!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
