“ Brand: New Look „
I hope everyone who read that title just did a Scottish accent in their head!
I love New Look shoes (as you can tell from my recent reviews) however I love them for a good reason! They are long lasting, so comfortable and really cost effective.
Gladiator shoes come in all types & styles and I think I own at least 5 pairs of them (I need every single last one of them!). This is a slight variation on the typical tan gladiator shoe with the added heel, making it a great pair of day heels in the summer.
I love the little kitten heel, they feel sturdy & comfortable to walk in. Great for holiday trips. I love the two buckle detail, but to save time, I only ever use the top buckle. Because the buckle goes up to your ankle, they feel really secure on your feet.
I bought these when I went to Greece last year. In the very hot heat (a.k.a not England), the leather can become quite tight and rub against sweaty feet (I'm being honest here!). It can hurt if you are wearing all day while site seeing, so if you are visiting somewhere really hot. I would suggest maybe wearing these in the evening when the weather is a bit cooler.
Oh and if you are wearing these in the day on holiday, be careful of tan lines!!
~ New Look Strappy Plaited Heel ~
I love it when my mum has a good clear out of her wardrobe as that means I get to go through everything deciding what I want before she takes the stuff to the charity shop, on a recent clear out I managed to grab a good few things, a nice jacket, jeans, a few tops and also these strappy sandals.
I by no means need anymore shoes, but how my mum can just throw things away like she does is beyond me! Some of the stuff she barely wears and then decides that she doesn't like them or that something doesn't fit right and that is what happened with these. I don't often take shoes from my mum as she is a size 6 to my size 5 but she said that these were pinching her and that she thought the sizes were a bit off, I tried them on and they were a perfect fit! I was quite pleased with that! I think that even had they been a true 6, I would have taken them anyway as I do quite like them!
Usually with shoes I either wear flats or *high* heels, I won't often chose a low heeled shoes as I generally stick to wearing flats all the time, but being a mere 5ft and half an inch (yep that half inch is very important!) when I go on a night out I like to wear really high shoes for that added bit of height, but these looked like a trendy comfy pair of low heels and even though I had no immediate plans to wear them anywhere I knew they would eventually be worn!
That time came not so long after when instead of hitting the town and the clubs, we girlies decided to hit the local pubs instead, this required a short walk to my friends where we were meeting up and then a short stroll to the pubs which are conveniently located on on stretch of road. It was when deciding on a casual outfit that I thought these shoes would be ideal. I was on the verge of wearing flat strappy sandals when I remembered these and dug them out of my wardrobe.
I was wearing denim skinnies, a cream floaty type top and a tan leather jacket and with these being pretty much the same colour as my jacket they were perfect.
The shoes have three straps across the front and two that fit around the ankle, there are buckles at the side which can be undone/done up but they also have a short zip at the back of the ankle which makes the shoes easier to get on and off. The heel is a nice short dumpy heel which measures in at around 2", the front part is totally flat. Due to the small height of the heel these are very comfortable to walk in, and as a plus you don't fall over when you've had a little too much to drink!
I have found them to be quite a versatile shoe, they look good with skinny jeans and they can be more dressed up with a nice flowy skirt/dress.
Considering the amount of walking I have done in these the heels show little signs of wear which I am quite impressed with. I wore them whilst shopping in Cardiff and didn't find them uncomfortable at all.
Whilst they are not a shoe I would have chosen off the shelf myself I am very glad my mum did, they are a nice comfy pair of heels that have lasted me well, and enable me to get of of my flats once in a while!
