“ Brand: New Look / Type: Pumps „
I decided much to my husband's upset to purchase another pair of shoes. I decided I needed a pair of flat shoes so went on the New Look website in search.
I found the shoe I was looking for a black stripy ballet shoe. The black and white contrast was eye catching as the white was very white the stripes were about 2mm thick and continuous around the whole shoe. Around the foot hole is a finishing edge band of solid black material. A small lace bow is situated on the front of the shoe. This shoe is incredibly flat with the slightest of heel - approximately 3mm. They were for sale at £12.99.
I brought these to wear during the warmer months with jeans and dress to add a casual feel about them. Also the reason behind the flats was because I would be carrying my baby girl around and felt heels would be safer.
These shoes were available in sizes between 3-9. I am a size 7 and my size 7 fitted perfectly. I do have slightly wide feet but they didn't crush my feet together at all. They are extremely comfy and have required no breaking in. They are easy to slip on and off. The shoe is fairly ridged offering support to your foot.
I have owned these shoes for 3 months now and they are still in good condition. I have had to white them over a few times as they have gotten a little dirty. I used a damp cloth to wipe them over and they have come up nice and clean with no staining.
I rate this shoe 5 dooyoo star as they are comfy, stylish, great value for money and readily available.
New Look tends to be my store of choice when it comes to buying almost all my shoes. I pretty much exclusively wear pumps and then flip flops in summer. I hate heels and I find boots uncomfortable so ballet pumps are the perfect thing for me. I also tend to only own one pair at a time and wear them until they fall apart.
I bought these New Look shoes in the sale recently, thinking they might be a good replacement for my most recent pair of flats. They were on sale for a cheap price and I liked the overall design, they looked quite simple and girly without being too flamboyant. I also thought they would be pretty versatile and go with most outfits.
These shoes have a blue and white striped design over the main body of the shoe. The lining is a navy colour and there is a small bow on the front of the shoe. The overall look is very nice, and they go well with leggings for black tights which are a staple in all my outfits. I also thought they had a nice shape to them with a rounded toe which is flattering to my small feet.
The sole of the shoe is quite thin and though I was a little worried about them not wearing well I still thought I'd buy them as they were cheap. I have found, however, that the sole is beginning to wear away a little after a couple of months of use and I think they probably won't last beyond 3 months. This isn't a huge problem because I paid very little for them but if they were a full price buy I'd be annoyed.
I do have a couple of problems with them though that do make me question my purchase. The first is the amount of time it took me to wear them in. Most shoes I find wear in within a week and in this time you can expect to have a little rubbing on your heels. These shoes gave me blisters though and were very uncomfortable to begin with. This probably lasted more than a week and did make my feet very sore. I persisted with them but most people might have given up and therefore it would be a waste purchase.
I also find that the white and navy stripes have become very dirty through constant wear. I should know better than buying anything that has white on it because I am such a messy and clumsy person but because these shoes are predominantly navy I didn't think it would be a problem. They have become pretty dirty now and because they are made from a suede effect material they are not easy to clean.
The compromise though is that I paid only £5 for these shoes. I would usually pay around £20 for a new pair and they would last twice as long as these. I think for £5 I don't mind the obvious flaws in these shoes but had I paid any more I would be very annoyed.
An okay pair of shoes, but not worth more than the sale price.
Recently, 80% of the high street shops have been churning out their usual summer sales in order to stock up on swimming suits and denim hot pants for the warmer months so i've been taking advantages of the bargains both in store and online.
My recent buy were these flat ballet pumps from New Look. I tend to wear ballet pumps everyday as they are very girly, affordable and comfortable and come in some great colours and designs so you can always find a great pair that will go with all of your outfits.
These pumps have a thin sole which is a disadvantage in my opinion as they wear quite easily but this doesn't tend to be a problem for me as i swap and change shoes everyday and generally have a different pair of shoes on 7 days a week!
The design on these pumps is navy and white/cream stripes which are a little thicker than pin stripes. The understated design mean that they will go with so many outfits such as summer dresses, leggings and jeans. On the front of this shoe is a bow subtle bow detail made from lace which adds to the femininity of the shoe.I have always found these to be amongst the most comfortable ballet pumps that I own and although the sole is thin the insole is squishy and cushions feet perfectly.
I have worn these shoes about 10 times and can already feel the sole is wearing thin. The suede material that the shoes are made from are also very dirty and, although these are machine washable, I doubt they would survive a spin in the washer as they are fragile and wearing quickly! Another disadvantage I have found is when you are caught wearing these shoes in the rain the rain soaks straight through to your feet and take ages to dry!
I paid £4 for these pumps in the New Look sale which is an absolute bargain whether I got 5 or 55 wears out of these shoes! I really do find that they match with so many of my outfits and have received many compliments whilst parading around in these shoes! They are available in sizes 3-9 and although they are sold out online the sales are still ongoing in store so you may be able to bag a bargain pair of shoes!
I find New Look a great place to shop for stylish yet not over prised clothing, shoes and accessories which I own a lot of. I have plenty of these type of shoes known as ballerina shoes, dolly shoes and pumps. But I love buying them in all different colours and styles as there are great to wear with anything.
The pumps have navy and white stripes, with a thick edging around the top with a very cute bow which is made out of shoe laces. I think the design is very cute and girly and I love the fact that it goes with a lot of my clothing and especially leggings which I wear mostly. The inner sole is thick so they support your feet very well.
I decided to buy the Stripe Soft Pumps because they went well with my jeans (dark blue). They are very comfortable to wear, easy to wash and they slip on quickly without any effort. They fit extremely well with no room for my foot to slide around, which I have found with some pumps in the past. These shoes are great for summer on the hot days if you don't feel like wearing flip flops or sandals. There also great if you do a lot of walking like I tend to do. They have lasted me very well and still look fairly new! Normally pumps last me about a month because I wear them pretty much all the time and they get worn out quickly. But I've had these a couple of months now and they are still in good condition.
They do tend to get dirty quickly (downside), luckily they are machine washable so easy to clean. I recommend to wash them a couple of times on a cool wash to get them back in great condition as the white stripes do get dirty easily. I do have to wash them fairly regularly as I do where they quite a lot. I don't tumble dry them as my mum warned me against it, so I let them dry naturally either on the washing line or I leave them on the patio.
They come in sizes 3-9 and for a extremely good price at only £8.99. Them come in two colours, navy blue and white or black and white.
Overall these are lovely shoes, with a cute design and are great for wearing in summer. Very pleased with my purchase as I usually am with New Looks shoes and may even invest in the black and white pair!
I have many, many pairs of shoes in different styles and from different places. I have more shoes than my partner would like me to own, but personally, I love my shoes and I will more than likely keep adding to my shoe collection for the rest of my life. One of the places on the high street that I buy a good selection of my shoes is New Look, and that is where I got my Stripe Soft Pumps.
These shoes are the usual pump slipper, ballerina style shoe which is also known as a Dolly Shoe. It is black and white striped, and the stripes are very thin. There is a black edging around the top of the shoe where you slip your foot in, and this is quite thick. These are flat shoes.
I bought these shoes as I thought they were really cute, and they only cost me £8.99! I thought that was a total bargain, for a cute little pair of shoes. What with the summer being just around the corner, they are perfect for the hot days when I do not feel like wearing sandals or flip flops. They work well with a whole host of different outfits as well, so it was a perfect idea to wear these shoes.
The shoes are really comfortable to wear, and they fit my foot quite well. There is no slipping or sliding when I walk and I have had no rubbing or sore spots, even when I wear them all day long. I have done quite a bit of walking in these shoes, and there has still been no problem. The material that these shoes are made of is quite soft, but it does have some supporting factors to it, and my foot does not seem to fall around through the sides of these shoes.
The inner sole of this shoe is thick, so you feel like your foot is supported, but not so thick that it makes it a struggle to walk on. The under sole is made from a thick rubber, which keeps your foot protected from the floor, and it provides a pretty good grip when you are on slippery surfaces.
Luckily these shoes are machine washable, as I have found the white stripes become dirty very quickly and easily. I have had to wash them on a cool wash a couple of times to get them to look good again, but I have not dared to tumble dry them, I just let them dry naturally. The washing machines does get them looking almost new again, so there is not much effort required to get them clean again, but I have not had to wash a pair of shoes as often as I have to wash these ones.
All in all, these are pretty good shoes, and for the price of them, you really could not ask for better. They are comfortable and long lasting, with the only downside being that they get dirty easily, but this is pretty much expected of something that is at least in part, white. I really like these shoes, and they are still available to buy from www.newlook.com for just £8.99. They come in sizes 3 - 8 (9 in some stores I think) and I give this pair of stripe pumps a 5 out of 5 stars. Recommended.
I do a lot of walking with my twin boys; taking them out for a walk in the pram is a great way of getting them some fresh air and calming them down on the days they seem intent on wreaking havoc or attacking each other. However I'm a sucker for pretty footwear. Obviously the amount of walking I do requires sensible footwear so I'm always on the lookout for stylish and comfortable flat shoes at an affordable price, which is how I came across the New Look Stripe Soft Pumps.
***New Look Stripe Soft Pump**
The New Look Stripe Soft Pump are pretty much that a slightly pointed toed pump shoe with a stripy canvas appearance. Each pump has a small bow to the front of the shoe. The shoes are made from a canvas material but this is a very smooth soft canvas rather than a traditional rougher feeling material. Around the top of the pump there is a 5mm rim around the top of the shoe which is slightly softer than the canvas material the main section of the shoe is made from.
The sole of the shoe is not entirely flat like many pump shoes are. There is a very slight heel to the pump probably around 3mm maximum. The sole is quite a hard plastic material rather than a soft rubbery material that a lot of soles are made from.
The shoes are available in UK sizes 3-8.
The shoes are available in three colours, black and white striped, navy and white striped and pink and white striped.
The shoes are available in New Look stores and online at www.newlook.co.uk . I did find that my local New Look store is a very large store and stocked all of the three colours of this shoe. However a friend mentioned that in her local store which is a lot smaller she had only seen the shoes in the black and white colour.
The shoes are priced at £8.99 which I feel is excellent value for money.
I mainly live in leggings or jeans during the day as these are the most practical clothing for chasing around two 15 month old children, which I feel pumps match perfectly with. The New Look Stripe Soft Pump were perfect to match with these types of outfits, in particular purchasing the black and white colour as they matched with most of my clothes due to the plain colour.
The shoes when I first tried them on did feel quite stiff despite being made from what appeared to be quite a soft canvas material. After wearing twice I did feel that the pumps were actually very soft and had moulded to the shape of my feet, totally losing the rigid feel.
I did feel that the shoes were very comfortable in particular for long walks. With most flat shoes and pumps I get rubbing around the heel and ankle. This occurred on the first few wears with these pumps but I only suffered redness rather than blisters on my heel. After this these shoes were completely comfortable I think the soft trim around the top of the shoe helps with and prevents excess rubbing.
The sole of the shoe are more durable than many pumps I own. The sole is more of a harder plastic material rather than a soft rubber. This combined with the very slight slight heel means that when you walk you do not feel every bump under your foot which often happens when wearing softer soled pumps that are completely flat.
I purchased these shoes in a size 5. I find usually in shoes I am somewhere between a 4 and a 5 but the size 5 length wise fit me perfectly. I have quite narrow feet and after a few wears I did feel the shoes felt roomy across the foot. I'm sure for those with more normal sized feet these would be a good size although for those with wide feet I do think these shoes maybe a little uncomfortable considering I felt the shoes were quite rigid on the first few wears.
My biggest criticism of these shoes is that they do attract dirt very easily. The white stripes do get dirty quite quickly. Despite trying to sponge these marks off I found these did not really remove. I put these shoes in the washing machine which completely cleaned these shoes back to looking new. However after two washes in the washing machine I did notice that at the front of the shoe by the toe the sole was coming away from the rest of the shoe.
These are a stylish pair of shoes which look great, are comfortable and at £8.99 very affordable.
These are definitely a "throw away" fashion type shoe and not for those who are looking for a pair of pump style shoes that will last them for years. However in my experience I have found that even more expensive pairs of pumps are not long lasting.
Great shoes at a great price.
The other day I decided to treat myself to a new outfit as I felt a bit down and was going out that night and not really in the mood to go. I decided a new outfit to wear would help, and it did. The outfit included these black and white stripy pumps from New Look, which I have now worn a couple of times and I'm ready to give my verdict on them!
I find New Look shoes a bit hit and miss in general. I think they're normally well priced and look good, but have also found them uncomfortable and not very well made on occasion. When I saw these I was attracted to them as they're fairly simple and could go with a lot of things but they're not too plain or boring. I was further persuaded to buy these shoes when I clocked the price-£8.99, which I think is very reasonable for a pair of pumps.
The shoes themselves are just regular pumps that are mainly white, with black horizontal stripes across them, and a small string bow at the front of each shoe. Upon trying the shoes in the shop I thought they felt quite comfy but the material on them seemed quite thin and not very sturdy, which didn't put me off too much because of the reasonable cost. I thought they looked quite small but they were a pretty standard fit, I am a size 6/7 and the 7 were a good fit, with the size 6 being a tad small. I purchased mine in New Look High Wycombe, where they were stocking sizes 3-8 all at a price of £8.99.
I wore the shoes that night, and had no complaints; they looked cute and received a few compliments, and didn't hurt my feet at all. The trouble was a couple of days later I wore them when I was walking around Paris and definitely shouldn't have done! This is partly my own fault for choosing inappropriate footwear for walking around in, but I was only actually walking in them for 2/3 hours which is not a long time-I would be on my feet more than that for a night out. I expected them to not be a problem for this short amount of time but they began to rub on my feet and actually gave me a small blister, which I rarely get.
I do still like these shoes I just won't be wearing them very often in case I end up with a repeat performance of my time in Paris! One other thing to be aware of with these shoes is how easily they get dirty-I would not recommend wearing them in rain or mud due to them being mostly white.
To conclude, these shoes are a bargain, they look cute, and they go with lots of things! However they can be uncomfortable and/or a bit painful so be careful when/how often they are worn. Also take care not to wear them in bad weather because you risk ruining them.
When I bought my black & white jacket from Boohoo (I reviewed that yesterday.) I realised I didnt really have any shoes to go with it - I had plain black or white shoes but I felt that because the jacket was quite plain in design I needed some shoes with a bit of Oomph! to dress the jacket up a little bit. So I did what I always do when searching for shoes and logged right onto the New Look website and ended up finding these 'New Look Soft Striped Pumps' which fit my needs perfectly and I knew I would be able to wear them with not just that jacket but with other things I own as well so I bought them straight away and believe me they have turned out to be a great bargain buy because I have had a lot of use out of these so far and I hope to for some time to come.
Stockists: New Look & newlook.com
Other Info: Available in sizes 3-9, available in Black & White, Navy & White + Pink & White. These shoes are said to be extra comfortable because of the soft, flexible sole & soft textile upper - they arent as hard as most shoes I own in my opinion - but that might not be as fantastic in the long run I think.
*I personally own the Black & White shade of these shoes as pictured in the image with this review. I do quite like the Navy & White shade though so I many be going back for more hehe.*
So as I say with all my reviews dont worry if your buying these shoes online as in reality they do look exactly like the picture so what you see is most certainly what you get in this case - as with most New Look shoes. These shoes are covered in small black & white stripes all over and are totally flat - there is a very slight raised heel at the back but it doesnt add anything to the height of the shoe at all - I think its mainly there to balance out the design more than anything else. At the front of each shoes is a very small, plastic, black bow which is a cute touch I thought but again it doesnt really add anything to the design overall but these might look a bit plainer without those bows. The front of the shoe is very slightly pointed which as with all New Look shoes is more about design and doesnt crush your toes or make the shoe uncomfortable to wear at all so you need'nt worry about that. The outside of the shoe is made from a cotton like material so Id recommend being very careful when wearing these as I think they would be murder to clean!
The inside of the shoes is lined with a silky type of material which feels great against my feet and ensures they wont rub or hurt your feet even if your wearing them for long periods of time of walking long distances in them - they didnt even rub me the first time I wore them which is always an added bonus as most shoes do rub the first time I wear them. As I always say with shoes of this material I dont recommend wearing them in bad weather because this material will get dirty easily but will not be easy to clean so you have been warned! LOL. The design isnt a bold or eye-catching as I normally go for but they are pretty nice all the same and oh so comfortable I could live in these shoes!
Now the one problem I do have with these is the soft sole. It does make the shoe more comfortable and easier to walk in but it does mean it will wear away so much quicker than normal shoes. Ive only owned these for about a month - wearing them on and off - and I can already see a small split appearing in the bottom so it has worn away so much quicker than shoes I normally buy - Ill be knocking off a star for that reason as I expected something a bit longer lasting from New Look - they are usually so bloody good!
Apart from that though I dont have any complaints. These shoes can make a simple outfit look more dressed up but also remain plain enough to wear when your having a really casual day and because the colours are so 'normal' this will match with most colours and styles - these are perfect with jeans on a lazy day which is how I wear them most often. I definitely recommend these shoes if you dont mind the fact that they may wear away a bit quicker than other NL shoe offerings - but they do look super cute and they match everything so Im still very happy I bought them. I just hope that split doesnt get any bigger!!
Thanks For Reading.
