“ Brand: New Look / Type: Flats „
I bought these shoes a couple of months ago from New Look. I only own a couple of pairs of shoes at a time as I hate heels and boots so pretty much exclusively wear pumps and then flip flops in summer. I find the majority of shoes really uncomfortable but New Look shoes always wear in easily and last a decent amount of time. I pretty much always head to New Look when my shoes begin to fall apart as they are relatively cheap but I find them comfortable enough for everyday use.
The style of this shoes is fairly basic I suppose. It is standard ballet pump style with a curved toe. The body of the shoe is made from blue suede and there is a floral bow on the front. The shoe has a small heel on it (I think this is more for show than for height because it is pretty small). The sole has tiny ridges in it to help you grip the floor and avoid slipping, they are also rubber which further prevent slipping on shiny/wet surfaces.
The design is not going to win any awards but it is simple and feminine and that's all I want in a shoe. Because I don't tend to own more than one pair at a time the pumps I own become my everyday shoe. This means I need something simple that can be versatile in terms of pairing it with other colours. The navy suede is a good match for most things and looks good with black tights or leggings, which is a staple in any outfit of mine. The flowery bow has a selection of other colours in it so this goes well with anything and adds a feminine, flirty touch to an otherwise boring outfit.
I think the materials used in the shoe are of a good quality considering the price. They are genuine suede which not only looks really nice but I find it actually wear relatively well too. The only thing you do have to look out for is water marks if they become wet, though I find the dark blue colour of these hides those pretty well. The lining of the shoe is a beige coloured suede, this is soft and smooth on your feet and a really nice added touch. I find the suede stops your feet from becoming sweaty and therefore you don't get a terrible shoe odour.
In terms of comfort these shoes are great for me. Although a lot of people find flats uncomfortable because they offer no support for your feet I think mine don't know any different. I've worn flats for so many years my poor feet are used to it so they feel pretty comfortable to me. However, if you wear supportive footwear like trainers a lot then these might leave your feet feeling a little sore.
When I bought these they were being sold at full price for £20. I am a student and on the day I bought these New Look has an additional offer which allowed me to get 20% off rather than the usual 10%. This meant that I got the shoes for £16 which is pretty reasonable for a pair that I wear everyday and have lasted me over 2 months of wear. They have since gone on offer so you can actually get them even more cheaply, though availability is more limited now to stores at they are out of stock on the website.
Overall, I think this is a good pair of pumps which I wear everyday.
This is a basic style ballet pump type shoe which is completely flat excluding the tiny raised heel on the sole. (it really is miniscule!) The sole is textured to avoid slipping over, and is made of a thin rubber material.
I bought my pair in a sale and paid £6 instore at my local New Look. They are currently £8 online however are out of stock. The original price of these shoes is £20, which i certianly would not pay. Sizing starts at a UK 3 and goes all the way up to a UK 9, but obviously you will need to check instore which sizes are still available due to them been on sale.
Although the overall design is very average and run of the mill, the large bow adds character and makes the shoe unique. There are countless flats on the market right now and not many of them have a bow this large. The chiffon bow is very pretty and has a pretty black, blue, green and grey floral design.
The rest of the shoe is navy blue and discreet, which does draw all the attention to the bow and therefor takes attention away from the actual foot which is ideal for people who are self concious about the size/width of there feet as this really masks any issues. The round toe also makes the foot appear small and neater in appearence.
The material of the shoe is a lovely genuine suede, which is sturdy but soft and overall looks gorgeous and it's apparent that it's suede. The lining of the shoe is suede aswell which i'm not too keen on as i'm funny with different material on my toes, but all in all it is soft and comfy. The only problem is with suede it is a pain to wipe off dirt without leaving a mark and they also take a while to dry, so i make it a priority to only wear these on dry days/in doors.
As mentioned before the sole is a thin rubber material and in my opinion is a bit too thin. It gives no support to the soles of my feet and when walking over pebbles etc it's not that comfortable. This is a downside but for the price i paid it's not a huge problem. If i had paid full price (£20, as mentioned above), however, i wouldn't be too happy.
Apart from the sole issue they're soft and comfy. They're fine when walking on pavement and are great shoes to wear when walking around throughout the day at work or uni etc as they let my feet breathe very well. They fit like a glove and don't rub or irritate my feet. I've found them to be extremely versatile and are both casual and smart, they go with pretty much any outfit. Ideal to wear in the summer with shorts or a skirt and they're nice in winter too with knitted leggings or jeans.
My pair have lasted well so far (5 weeks ish), the sole is firmly in place and there is no signs of wear. For the price i paid i am happy with my purchase but due to the ridiculously thin sole i would certianly not pay full price.
Cannot believe shoe reviews became popular again on Dooyoo just as I suggested a few for the catalogue - some good luck at last hehe. Well Im a shoe addict at the best of time but when I saw the January sales on shoes in New Look I really could not resist treating myself to a few new pairs - I needed them - thats how Im thinking of it anyway LOL. Anyway the flat shoes had some great deals on them so I decided to buy a good few pairs starting with these 'New Look Suede Bow Flats' which wouldnt be my usual style but at the price they were I simply couldnt pass up the oppurtunity to try something new out - I knew Id be able to sell them to my mom if I didnt like them - thankfully I love them and Ive been wearing them all the time since I bought them. Bargain and a half!
Price: Was £19.99 - Now £8

Other Info: Available in Navy (the colour I own them in) & Red Wine. Available in sizes 3-8 online. The outside is actually genuine suede, inside is suedette & there is a chiffon, floral bow attached to the front of each shoe - colours vary depend on the shoe colour you purchase.
These shoes look in reality exactly the same as the image with this review so if your ordering online what you see is what you get in this case. The shoes are navy and totally flat, there is a very slight raised heel at the back BUT it doesnt make a difference to the height or design of the shoe so its hardly worth mentioning. The front is slightly pointed - not to the point where your feet will be crushed wearing them dont worry and on that pointed part is the chiffom bow. The bow is also navy in colour but is is covered in light blue, white & green flowers which trust me is not my usual style at all as I would normally find these a bit old for my tastes. But somehow the floral pattern makes the shoes look much girlier and more feminine rather than ruining the overall design - if that bow hadnt been on the front I wouldnt have looked at these twice and design wise even though this isnt normally my thing Im so glad I took a chance on these.
These shoes are really comfortable to wear and they honestly do dress up a very casual outfit in seconds. Because of the odd pattern on the bow they wont match with a lot of things but as in the day I only wear jeans and a plain(ish) top they work perfectly for me. And if you are into clothes that have floral themes you will find these match with more things - for dressing up a casual outfit though for me these are a must have as it looks like Ive made a real effort when I havent at all. Even the first time I wore these they didnt rub at all and I can wear them all day with ease and without any pain at all so they are a great daytime shoe - exactly the reason I bought them.
As I said I havent owned these for very long - around a month - but Ive been wearing them loads and I cant see any signs of wear on any part of the shoe at all. As they are made of suede I dont recommend wearing them out in bad weather - rain or snow - as I think that would ruin the material but apart from that these are brilliant shoes which I highly recommend. Even if these arent your usual style as you might be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks For Reading.
