As I've said on here previous when it comes to shoes I'm terrible if they are
in the right size and look fabulous and more importantly are at the right price
I'm there even if this means it takes me umpteen times walking up and down the
lounge to wear them in or just make sure I can walk in them.
I shall set the scene... it was a busy boxing day people were everywhere and shop tills were ringing when between the people my eyes met with a beautiful pair of wedges.
Sitting alone on a shelf I looked at them lovingly only to see a very large and unavoidable problem, they were 2 sizes too small I set them back on the shelf and walked away a quick glance over my shoulder at the shoes as I moved away from them. I ambled around the store weaving between the bodies for what seemed like a lifetime before what should I see before me. On the floor away from the sale rack sat what can only be described as a vision in suede, a size 8 pair of wedges identical to the pair I had previously had to leave....it was fate!!!
*+*+*THE SHOE *+*+*
Ok so the main body of the shoe is in black suede. They have a filled in toe which is slightly pointed. A major part of the draw of these shoes for me was the thick inch wide adjustable ankle strap and buckle to secure the shoe.
Aside from the buckle and strap the wedge drew me in. The heel comes in at 12cm so about 5 inches with a platform of about 1.5cm. The whole of the wedge and platform is in a black and grey snakeskin effect with a nice shine to it.
Sole is black rubber with engraved lines for grip.
These were originally £29.99 but I got them half price in the sale for just £15.
*+*+* MY OPINION *+*+*
Ok so here is the important bit. I love these shoes I don't normally go for a closed in toe unless it's a boot but these are the exception. Like all New Look shoes they are extremely comfortable. New Look seem to know just how much of and where to put the cushioning for the ball of your foot with most of their shoes. These are really easy to walk in which I believe is down to 2 factors first of all they are a wedge which, to me at least gives you a much steadier and solid base to walk on and second of all the ankle strap. The Strap is a good width giving a secure fit while also being soft enough not to rub or cause any discomfort, in tern there is then no slipping from the shoe as a whole so no blisters after a good nights dancing.
The overall look of these shoes in the blacks means that they will go with just about anything, personally I keep them for nights out as I don't like to be walking around in high heels all day.
At the price I paid I am over the moon I cannot say I would of paid full price but this is mainly down to the fact I know that after a few months New Look reduce their shoes and one of the stores near where I live always seem to have size 8's in not that I'm complaining.
*+*+* WOULD I RECOMMEND *+*+*
Yes absolutely I cannot recommend New looks shoes enough and have sent many a friend in their direction. The fit of these is amazing not only are they comfortable but they look great. What I like about these is I haven't seen anyone else wearing them (believe me I can spot a pretty pair of shoes across a dance floor). If I am honest I have never clashed shoes when wearing New Look shoes with anyone which is possibly down to New Looks variety. I also like the versatility of these shoes, they are able to be worn with leggings, trousers or a skirt making them a perfect all rounder for you wardrobe.
I have also worn these out in the rain and the suede still looks fabulous granted they haven't been attacked by a cosmopolitan or a stray vodka and cranberry but I am impressed by the condition they have kept.
