“ Brand: Nine West / Type: High Heels „
Beginning of last year I was trying to update my work shoes as a lot of mine were dying of death basically as I had worn them into the ground. Long hours meant I couldn't go out shopping, the weekends were spent recovering from the long days and the evenings when I could shop online were scraped due to cooking dinner and going to bed as early as I could. Fortunately after moving to an office in a different location my high workload although still there was much more manageable due to the support I needed. I was therefore able to get any shoes re-heeled and replace ones that had gone to shoe heaven. I generally have black shoes for work with a few colours thrown in for a bit of variety. I had recently purchased a lovely deep brown and grey suit and wanted a pair of shoes to go with it. Having been browsing my usual websites I found Nine West had the most suitable shoes which were/ are called Hereiam. They came in black, brown and grey and I opted for the brown as apart from going with my new suit they would also be suitable for other suits I had. What Nine West say: "Hereiam by Nine West is a stylish court with ruched and button detailing on the heel counter. The square toe adds a quirky twist to this piece, try teaming with tailored trousers and a chiffon blouse for a chic finish!" The detailing to this shoe is simple yet effective. The rouched detailing at the sides of the shoes give a bit of texture and the colour coded buttons which go down the back of the shoe really had a little touch of sexy glamour to a court shoe. The buttons are securely sewn into the back of the shoes so you don't have to worry about them coming off or coming loose. The shoes have a square toe which again gives the shoes a bit of detail as they look different compared to your normal round toes courts. Even though it is a squared toe it doesn't crush your toes as I find the square toe isn't as narrow as a round toe so there is more room for your toes. I found that Hereiam fit me really well and were not too narrow, I have normal width feet and found that I felt secure without my feet feeling crushed. Hereiam are made of leather which is soft but rigid enough to keep its shape. I did find that they took a while to wear in as the leather although soft did take a while to supple up around my feet which although didn't cause any rubbing there was a little pinching around the front of my foot which I could have done without! As soon as the leather softened this pinching disappeared. The heel height is around 13cm which for me is a decent height and I find them perfectly easy to walk in. They do have a concealed platform which cannot be seen as the leather of the shoes covers it completely. The platform manages to balance the heel height so you don't feel that the shoes are too high. I find them easy to walk and they are comfortable which when you are in your shoes for hours they have to be comfortable. I've had my shoes for over 8 months now and I have had to have them re-heeled once due to the heel tip being small and that I have worn them quite a lot. I don't think having them re-heeled once is too bad considering the amount of wear they have had. The leather has stayed soft but rigid but has scuffed and I found that the square toe did scuff easily but some shoe polish soon covers up the scuffs. Nine West Hereiam are still available and I paid the full retailing price of £85.00 but on the Kurt Geiger website they are in the sale and you can pick up a pair for a very reasonable £25.00. Sizes are limited but they were available in sizes 3 to 8. Overall, a great pair of shoes which are incredibly comfortable even if you spend hours in them like me. They have lasted me well and still have plenty of life in them.
