“ Brand: Nine West / Type: Sandals „
Like most people I'm a sucker for a bargain and this certainly doesn't change when it comes to shoes. Because I am signed up to so many newsletters from various brands of shoes I know in advance what sales or offers will be happening which has probably saved me a lot of money of the years!
One sale I have been particularly enjoying recently is the Kurt Geiger sale both on their website and on the John Lewis website. I am a pretty popular size which can obviously make it difficult to get a bargain but with prior knowledge of knowing when the sale is going to happen I can tend to get the styles that I would like. One pair I bought this year is the Nine West Jemmia Sandal as I wanted something casual enough to wear during the day but also something glam enough to wear on an evening.
What Nine West say:
"Jemmia by Nine West is a stylish sandal with contrasting high heel and rear zip fastening. The quirky multiple leather straps are finished with smart lace up detailing. A great transitional piece, wear from season to season."
As you can see from the photo the shoe or sandal has a lattice design which is tied up by a thin lace running down the middle of the shoe. With the lace you can the shoe as tight or as loose as you would like which is ideal as during the warmer months feet can swell especially if you have been wearing your shoes for a long time. The shoe is further secured by a small zip at the heel which I thought would rub my heel but it hasn't as it is covered by two small pieces of leather to ensure no rubbing.
The latticed shoe is made of leather which is nice and soft and not a lot of wearing in actually needs to take place and by the time I had worn these shoes for a few hours the leather had softened up enough for them to be completely comfortable. They have so far never rubbed or caused me to apply plasters to my feet which is always a good sign as there is nothing worse than having a shoe rub. Jemmia is a peep toe shoe and the peep toe is quite wide which means your toes are not crushed into a narrow opening. The footbed of the shoe is synthetic but slightly padded which adds to the comfort.
The heel is approximately 3 ¾ inches and because the heel is quite a bit wider than a stiletto heel when walking in these shoes you don't actually realise how high the heel actually is. The tiny platform is a mere 1 cm (roughly) which isn't noticeable at all but helps balance out the heel giving a bit more weight distribution.
I have worn these shoes a few times now and they are incredibly comfortable to wear and as I said above they haven't rubbed and the leather has softened nicely. What I have found is that the ties need tightening after a bit of wear as they become loose when they have been worn for a few hours but this is hardly an issue.
Nine West Jemmia Sandal is available from Kurt Geiger, John Lewis to name just a few and was originally priced at £80.00 but they are currently reduced and I managed to get my pair for £39.00 which I thought was a bargain. Jemmia comes in black, blue and grey.
For me these shoes will be worn next spring and summer as I can't see them going out of fashion any time soon and they are extremely comfortable which makes them a pleasure to wear as I don't end up having red feet after wearing them! I think even at the original price of £80.00 I would have happily of paid this but I'm even happier that they were reduced by over 50%! Ideal with a pair of skinny jeans, under normal jeans and skirts an incredibly versatile shoe which is great for everyday wear.
