“ Brand: Nine West / Type: Sandals „
A few years ago I embarked on the whole jelly sandal phase that took over most shops during the summer months. I purchased a pair from Topshop and I found them incredibly comfortable. I used to love jellies as a child as they were so comfortable and now the adult version were just as comfortable and came in the same rainbow variety of colours. However, after wearing them constantly the strap broke and although I wanted to replace them I didn't really get round to.
However, my mother who knows my obsession for shoes brought me back a pair from America last Spring and I was over joyed. Although she didn't choose a vibrant colour for me I was still happy I had a pair of jelly sandals again! The pair she bought were from Nine West (every year she buys a bag from Nine West and saw this whilst browsing in the store) and came in three colours; blue, pink and white. She had bought me the white pair as she explained that white would go with more of my clothes than the other two colours - she was completely right.
What Nine West say:
"Katcha3 by Nine West is a cute and bright jelly sandal with ankle strap. Featuring fun leopard print design these will not let you fade into the background this summer!"
Now I don't know why the shoes have the number 3 at the end of their name but I will refer to them as Katcha! My white pair we're incredibly white, so much so that a pair of sunglasses was needed to look directly at them! Now I've had them for nearly a year although still white the colour seems to have dulled down a little!
The shoe has a lovely black and tan leopard print pattern. When you are wearing them the pattern is not so easy to see as your feet are covering up the majority of it but you do get little glimpses of it around your foot. However, on the jelly strap that goes up over the front of your foot there are small circular discs with the same leopard print pattern on which give a little more detail to these jelly sandals.
Katcha are a thong type sandal which isn't comfortable for everyone but this type of sandal doesn't really both me at all. Katcha fasten around your ankle again the straps are made of jelly (the strap around your ankle and the supporting sides of the sandal). The buckle is a small metal buckle which is easily adjustable.
Because the shoes are made of jelly, a synthetic material, they are not rigid and are quite soft and flexible but they do manage to keep their shape when you are not wearing them. When I first wore them last year I did find that the jelly strap rubbed between my toes but after some perseverance and use of a clear blister plaster I managed to create a little padding and they didn't rub! I wore them a lot last year and I found that they would just go with anything I wore which is great. They have accompanied me on many of my trips abroad and have been ever faithful to me. The great thing about them is that they can be easily wiped clean should you get them dirty.
My pair have certainly lasted really well and will certainly be used again this year as they are comfortable and casual. Ideal to go with a pair of skinny jeans or with a maxi dress, the leopard print sets them apart from other jelly sandals on the market.
Katcha3 are currently on sale at Kurt Geiger (saw them whilst shopping recently) and have been reduced from £45.00 to a bargain price of £5.00! Definitely a great buy at that price. My mother hasn't told me the exact price she paid but she did mention it was less than the retail price at Kurt Geiger. For £5.00 these are an absolute must have and I would recommend that all women should have a pair! Comfortable and casual what more could you want?!
