      nice wedges from office

My bestie is an absolute diamond and knows how much I like shoes and yet how little of them I have. So being the good person that she is (and also she is the manager of an Office concession in House of Fraser she bought me these shoes amongst numerous other gifts!) she got me these lovely shoes....woohoo!

The shoe is essentially a slingback, wedge heel with a peeptoe. Sounds like a lot going on, but the shoe is actually really simple and really gorgeous! The upper is made from black microsuede leather which is really soft, but is a thick material and really covers the upper part of my foot well and with this cold weather the ample material actually keeps my foot warm!

The shoe has a lovely gold trim design around the rim of the peep toe and the edge of the upper closer to my ankle, The buckle on the strap is also gold which gives this shoe a really high quality feel and they look rather expensive! The lining of the shoe however is synthetic, and so is the sole but I don't feel Office have scrimped on quality too much here and they still feel much better than cheap shoes (e.g. Primark!). I think the peep toe adds a nice element to the shoe otherwise it'd look really boring as a closed wedge shoe!

The shoes have a 13.5cm heel and a 3.5cm platform under the front of the shoe. This is actually much higher than most of my heels and at first I must say me and these shoes got off to a shaky start! I find I have skinny ankles, and heels that are really high do not help me as I can often end up looking like Bambi on ice! The straps on the ankle go some way to give me some extra support but it did take me a few hours to feel at ease at wearing these out and about. The sole is a type of synthetic wooden looking material, with a few lines so to be honest there really isn't much grip on the bottom so I am not willing to experiment wearing these out in the rain when I can just about function on dry ground!

These wedges also come in purple but I like the black as they are a lot more versatile and can be dressed both up or down. I have worn these twice - once out to dinner with my friends as a Christmas gathering with leggings and a dress, and also out to a bar with jeans and a nice peplum top and these heels were perfect for both social occasions! With a bit of wobbly legs out the way, I was actually able to comfortably wear these all evening and even have a little boogy!

To sum up, these wedges are really nice, and I am so appreciative of them as a birthday gift to add to my shoe collection! The black and gold compliment each other well and makes the shoe versatile to wear with different outfits. They of course are not the most comfortable, and for me the height took some adjusting to but once you get past that you will love these so I recommend them! They currently cost £20 on the Office website and I think the offer is the same in store so they are reasonably priced and will add some glam to your feet this Christmas!
