Advantages: Well-made comfortable quirky boots
I really like the Oxygen brand of shoes and boots, having had several pairs of Mary Jane type shoes from them before. They're quirky and well-made, and have always lasted me well. As the summer came to an end, I decided to treat myself to a pair of boots for the winter. Oxygen were actually quite short of stock in my size at their online store, so my initial choice of style was unavailable, but since I was determined to buy some boots from them, I settled on the Segura instead.
It is available in three colours: apple green, brown with tan outer panels and black with dark green outer panels. I went for the black version. Although pictured here with a brown sole, my pair had a black coating, which I prefer.
The boot has a nice buckle & strap detail on the outside, with the O2 logo impressed into the leather. There is a zip on the inside of the leg for putting them on. The wedge heel is about 2 inches high, while the sole has a good gripping surface. I can walk with confidence in most weathers and be kept warm and dry.
The inners are lined in a soft tan material, which makes them comfortable to wear whether you have bare legs, trainer socks, long socks or tights on. The boot is calf-length. The length is quite good for me, ending just where my leg starts to curve in again to the knee, so doesn't cut me off in an unflattering place unlike some calf-length boots. I will happily wear these with an above the knee skirt for a bit of a bo-ho look or with jeans.
I have found previously that footwear from Oxygen is instantly comfortable, and these boots were no exception. They just really suit my rather wide feet and there was no wearing in period. They are really good quality sturdy boots, which respond well to boot polish when needed. They've developed some creases, but that's normal wear and tear with leather and just adds to the character. They have retained their shape admirably after several months of regular use. The only problem, and it's very superficial, is that the leather strap detail through the buckle has begun to curl out. But this is probably because of my habit of sitting cross-legged when I can, thus rolling it up accidentally. The sole shows no sign of wear so far and the stitching, lining, zip and all other parts of the boots are in excellent condition. I have hopes that they will serve me another winter and perhaps beyond.
I totally love these boots and would recommend them to anyone. They are available online from the Oxygen shop at £59.99 currently.
Summary: A good pair of boots
