“ Brand: Paradox / Type: Wedding Shoes „
These shoes were not something I bought myself or indeed would in all likelihood buy for myself. But as a dutiful bridesmaid to my friend I worn all the items she selected including these shoes.
The shoes were selected as they were flat shoes and one of the bridesmaids was pregnant so flats were always going to be a style choice for us all. They are made by Paradox a well know wedding shoe manufacture we had picked them in a local bridal shop who had then dyed them to make our dresses.
Now as I have wide feet I was slightly worried how well these would fit me given I would have to wear them most of the day, but I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't feel tight at all across my foot. In fact the shoes I think are a wide fit as those with narrow feet did find them a bit loose to wear but for my chunky feet they were perfect. They are also nicely padded and there is no annoying hard plastic anywhere to rub against my feet which again when I was wearing them all day was great and I developed no blisters or sore patches on my feet.
In regards to the look of these shoes I think they are perfect for summery days as the peep toe design is a quite a classic in my opinion. They are a wonderful shoe if you are wearing a ball gown or evening dress for a formal function as the sparkle of the diamante and pearl design lifts these nicely to make them a bit flashier than just a normal satin ballerina style shoe. However I do think a lot of people would prefer a heel design for this ball and evening dresses so the flat heel of these may not be the best. Peep toe designs are quite a classic look I think even though I haven't got any balls or formal dances to go to now they will keep well in their box and can be worn in a few years' time without looking out dated I hope.
I have to say the dying of these shoes was fantastic and the material swatch that had been sent had enabled them to perfectly match the dark green of the dresses. The diamante's and pearls looked really shinny against the backdrop of the dark green giving it a very sophisticated look which is what my friend was hoping for.
As they are satin they are hard to keep clean and the low ballerina style lends them to being scuffed easily. The few scuffs I had on the shoes came clean with a bit of hot soapy water and there wasn't any change in the dye as a result of this.
I do like these shoes and think they are an elegant shoe that gave our bridesmaid dresses a wonderful touch of sparkle. They are easy to get dyed tio match outfits of your choice and the sparkle of the flowery pearls and diamantes is lovely and gives the shoes a real sparkle. At £60 a pair they are not cheap and are certainly not an everyday shoe but given their classic design they can be kept in the wardrobe for other occasions.
