**Appearance**
While we were shopping in Asda my little girl spotted these Peppa pig boots. She was very excited and asked if I would buy them for her, and as she needed some new boots I decided I would. The boots are very pretty; they are navy in colour with red polka dot detailing. The boots are rounded at the front, and there is a zip fastening on the inside of each boot. There is also a lace detail at the front of the boot, but these are just for show and finished with a bow they look very pretty. On the outside of the boot is a cute picture of peppa pig dressed in her winter warmers. It is sown in so it does not peel off, and there has been no fraying or deterioration since we have owned them. They are very simple but I find the design is perfect for small children learning to put their shoes on independently. Not only are they easy to get on and off, but my little girl can use the peppa pig detail and zip as a guide. She knows the zip need to be on the inside and peppa needs to be on the outside to see what's going on, so it helps her know which foot to put each boot on.
With similar boots we have found the front of the boot tends to sink a little, so while little one is not wearing them they look very old and worn. These boots have managed to hold the rounded front perfectly so even while sitting on the shoe rack they look attractive. As they are mainly navy in colour we find they match most outfits well, but they are definitely a boot for the winter months rather than the summer. The inside of the boot has a slight fur to it so that it keeps little feet lovely and warm even in the colder months.
We find the sizing to be true to other shoes we own. My little girl has slightly large feet for her age as she wear an infant size 8, and we have found these fit her perfectly. She has a small amount of room to grow into them and even with thick tights on they are very easy for her to get on and off herself. They sit on her feet perfectly, sometimes I find that boots are a little loose at the top, but these sit perfectly as the fur trim helps bulk them out a little so even with skinner legs they do not look too large.
**Durability**
These boots are made very well, and we have found them to last without any problems at all. My daughter loves her boots as they have Peppa pig on them, and so they are one of the first pairs of footwear she will reach for. The thick sole mean they are comfy for her to walk on, and she does tend to scuff her feet along the floor as she walks. Usually this means she wears the front of shoes down very quickly but these have proved to be very resistant and the front of the boot still looks perfect. The zip is also very easy to do up even for little hands. Despite my daughter opening and closing the zip over again we have found it still works perfectly. It does not become stuck in any material on the inside of the boot, so my little girl really can put them on all by herself.
There is a good amount of grip on the bottom of the shoes, which is perfect as they are aimed towards younger children. They are not waterproof so no jumping in muddy puddles with Peppa! We do find they hold water off well though so they can be worn in the rain without becoming ruined, or soaking little ones feet through. We need boots that can stand up to all weathers as we are in sunny Scotland, and these boots have stood the test of time. We have owned them for a good few months now and other than general wear and tear they are still perfect. I generally use a damp cloth or a baby wipe to give them a wipe down once in a while, and I have found this brings them back to life again.
**Overall**
We love these Peppa pig boots as they have lasted very well. They keep my little girls feet warm in the winter months, and although they are not completely waterproof they still provide a good amount of protection from the rain. We paid £12.50 for ours which I believe is very reasonable for a pair of boots especially character ones. They are available in sizes from infant 4 up to infant 10 so they are aimed at younger girls. My daughter is three and she absolutely adores theses boots I have to fight with her to take them off at night. I would recommend them to any little girl that loves Peppa pig!
I suggested these boots for the dooyoo catalogue, but unfortunately they seem to have added the picture for the leather version.Having a look I see they are reduced to £7.50 which is a bargain!
