Advantages: Pretty design, versitile, comfortable, bargain price.
Disadvantages: Sole began to come away from right shoe.
A few years ago I lived in high heel shoes and would even wear them for a full day on my feet at work but I have slowly converted to flats and love the ballet pump style. Although I purchase good quality, leather shoes for work I like to have a range of different shoes for casual wear and don't like them to cost too much, which normally means me heading to Primark on a regular basis as they sell a great range of flat ballet pump style shoes for a great price. My last purchase was of the Primark bow ballet pumps which cost just £6.00.
The bow ballet pumps came in various different colour combinations but I opted to purchase the black ones with black bow detail as I thought they were the most versatile to go with most outfits. They are also available to purchase in uk sizes 3-8, I purchased my normal size 4.
These ballet pumps have a thin rubberised sole with slightly built up heel. There is some slight scoring on the bottom of the sole to add a little grip and the sole is black in colour to make it blend in with the rest of the shoe. The upper part of the shoe is made from synthetic material which has a suede like look and smooth feel with a faux leather trim around to top to allow a nice smooth finish so that it does not rub on your foot. On the front of the shoe is a fairly large organza double black bow held together in the middle with a gold platted band of material for added decoration.
I found these shoes to be very comfortable from the first time that I wore them even though they did feel rather snug. I do have quite narrow feet so I think for anyone with wider feet that these shoes may be a little too tight. I have been wearing these shoes on and off for around a month now and have not experienced any blisters or rubbing even when I have worn them for several hours or without socks/tights.
The thing I love most about these shoes is that they are very pretty and versatile. I can wear these shoes with jeans, leggings, dresses or skirts and dress them up or down. The shoe itself is quite plain but the bow adds a lovely feminine detail with the little gold band in the centre of the bow adding a little glimmer and shine. There has also been a couple of occasions when I have popped these shoes into my going out bag to wear when my heels begin to hurt during a night out. These shoes are perfect for this as they are very light in weight and even if you press them together to squeeze into a bag they just bounce straight back into shape. This would also make these shoes great for taking on holiday especially if you wanted to keep your weight and size of your baggage down to a cabin bag.
The only negative point I have about these shoes is the fact that the sole did begin to come away from the front of the right shoe recently. If these shoes had been more expensive I think I would have been inclined to return them to the store but I have had around a good months wear from them and for the bargain price I do not feel complaining would be justified.
Overall these are very cute looking ballet pumps which look great day or night. They have not lasted quite as long as I expected them to but they are a complete bargain and I think I will certainly be heading back to Primark to purchase a second pair as I really love the look and comfort of these shoes.
Summary: A great cute little shoe at a brilliant price!
