Advantages: Comfortable and stylish, cheap
Disadvantages: None
I've got around six pairs of ballet pumps from Primark and these ones are my most recent pair.
I bought them during the summer as I practically live in flats during the warmer weather and I picked these because they're simple and versatile but they have a subtle girly bow on the front which I think makes them look a lot nicer than the plain ones. I paid around £6.00 for these which is around the average price for a pair of basic Primark shoes and a real bargain in my opinion!
The shoes are only available in store as Primark don't have a website and the last time that I was in there a few weeks ago they were still in stock. The pumps are available in three different colours - black with a mataching black bow, white with a black bow and tan, which has a white bow. I wanted to get the tan pair but decided on the black as I knew that the paler colours would more than likely get grubby more quickly.
The black pair look a lot smarter too making them look nice with a range of different style clothes and you could easily get away with wearing them to work or perhaps to an interview, although the bow might not look quite right on work/interview shoes. Nevertheless they're incredibly versatile and I wear mine with almost anything - leggings, jeans, shorts, jeggings & so on, they don't clash at all. The design is really basic - the usual, generic ballet flat design. They're totally flat with a very slight raise on the sole which helps to prevent them from feeling too flat.
The sole itself is very thin and it's made of a rubber type material which is scored so they have quite a decent grip meaning that they aren't slippery when I am walking on wooden or polished flooring. The upper part of the shoe is made from a nice, soft synthetic leather look material which isn't the most durable material - it scratches and creases easily and after having my pair for around four months they look very battered! My black ones are very plain but the coloured ones have a contrast bow and contrast trim.
The pumps have a rounded toe which is always an advantage for me as I think that they make my feet look a little neater. They're available in sizes UK4-8 and I got my size five. One of my feet is a 5 and a half and the other is a five so I was dissapointed that there wasn't half sizes available as I usually get 5.5's but this isn't an issue and they do fit nicely.
I found them a little too snug and quite narrow at first but the soft material adjusted to the shape and size of my feet within a few hours of wearing them. They are quick and easy to stick on and very comfortable and easy to walk in. I wear these for casual wear and wore them mainly in the summer. They did get quite dirty, especially when me and my boyfriend took my little girl to Skegness beach but they were easy to clean with a damp cloth. After countless times of wearing them they are looking a little worse for wear but I feel that I've got my money's worth out of them.
Recommended.
