“ Brand: River Island / Type: Court Shoes „
I do have a good collection of shoes for work because my job requires that I am dressed smart at all times. This means that I get through a lot of shoes and clothes if I am not careful with how I treat them. I generally get new work shoes every 3 months so that I don't have to buy ones in an emergency. I had to do that once and I had no choice but to buy expensive shoes that I didn't even like.
The heels are medium in height (about 2.5 inches) and quite thin. The heel has shown resistance to wearing as it has not yet worn down. The toe is angular and pointed so these really would not suit those with wide feet as the shape and size is more suited for those with narrow feet. These are sling backs with a buckle at the side which can be adjusted. I use the buckle to tighten the shoes around my ankle but this is just so that they feel more secure. They won't fall off it the buckle isn't fastened but I prefer when its tight. The shoes are made from leather, and the soles are plastic.
It may sound silly but I wear a skirt when I wear these shoes because the slingback design is visible as slingbacks whereas if I wore trousers they would just look like normal courts. When I wear these shoes I do have to make sure that my heels are thoroughly scrubbed and moisturised as I have quite dry heels and as they are on display I don't want them to look like chalky flakes.
I will not lie, 8 hours with these shoes isn't really comfortable and they have tested my patience a couple of times. They are not comfortable and I do swap straight to more comfortable shoes straight after work. Although they are not comfortable most of the shoes I wear are fashionable rather than comfortable and practical so I am used to the uncomfortableness to a certain extent.
These are available from river island for £54.99. I do think that this is a good price because they are made from leather. I would expect them to last me about 1 year because of the quality. They can be bought in store or online in either black or white colours.
These are however very good shoes for wearing with tailored formal suits (preferably pencil skirt suits) .I think that they would make an outfit look super smart and sharp.
