Rocket Dog and boots...what could go wrong? Nothing!
I ordered a pair of these boots a couple of weeks ago seeings as the weather was on the turn and after hearing good things about them I was quite excited and oh Rocket Dog you didn't let me down.
My boots are chocolate brown and have a soft snuggly lining which kept my feet and most of my lower legs warm while walking along the docks in Liverpool.
Like Ugg boots, the body of the boot is stitched together with the seams on the outer in a chuncky boxy shape. Unlike Ugg style boots, these have a solid hard sole like normal shoes/trainers so you avoid the walking on the side of your foot image which most wearers end up with.
The sole is hard and durable so it is comfortable to wear whilst walking in most places and not so heavey that you feel like you are dragging your feet along.
The boots come in 3 different heights starting at just above your ankle and working up the the 3/4 up your shin (I'm 5ft 9 and can confirm this).
In a range of colours, you can choose the one thats right for you.
Okay so the suede isnt great in the rain but that for me is an excuse to buy another pair of boots!
I've loved Rocket Dog pumps for years now and I'm sure with boots like these I'll love them for a few more!
I had my eye on these boots for ages and finally got them for Christmas last year, and I am so pleased with them! They are lovely and snuggly with soft faux fur lining. They are waterproof too. I was heavily pregnant when I got them and they were perfect because they were not only extremely comfy (I usually get blisters with new shoes but have had no trouble at all with these) but easy to get on despite me having a big bump! They have lasted very well, I do a lot of walking and have been wearing them non stop, and they will be good for the coming winter too. They are a fairly wide fit so you can wear nice thick socks with them on cold days. They look great over leggings and jeans, and are smart enough to wear to work. When this pair are worn out I will buy another pair!
I have always been a fan of Rocket Dogs, I bought these after christmas as I wanted something which would keep my feet warm and dry during the terrible weather we have been experiencing. They certainly did the job and they looked extremely stylish, very versatile, you could wear these boots with absalutely anything. The only downside to these shoes is that although my feet were not cold or wet, the boots certainly paid for it. Now the boots have stains where the water has been soaked in by the shoes and they are yet to return to their original colour (bearing in mind also that I purchased the dark brown pair of boots). Mud and anything else that might be embedded in the boots is also near enough impossible to get out again. Overall the boots look and feel fantastic when you first buy them, however I would not recommend wearing them in all weathers as you may find that a new pair is required in no time at all!
These Rocket Dog boots are one of the best investments i have made this winter. I had some cheap ones for about a week, before i went to Foot Locker and bought these, and they did nothing to shield my feet from the snow! These, however, kept my legs and feet toasty warm and most importantly of all, DRY :) so they made me very happy indeed. The furry lining really is furry! It feels so good to the touch and adds to the toastiness of the boots when outdoors in the cold. They are made really well and aren't showing any signs of abuse, even after being wet then dried a few times. I would highly recommend these for your winter boots, as i've mentioned above, they really are worth the £35-£40 you'll pay. That may be a little more than you'd normally spend on a pair of boots, but it's the high quality that you need!
What can I say about my rocket dogs?? They are the best buy boots I have ever had. I was a bit worried about buying the boots on line without trying them on as I have tried rocket dog pumps on in a shop which were too snug. When the boots arrived I was immediately impressed by the quality of the suede outer and the comfy fleece lining. Once on I knew I had made the right purchase instead of paying more for trendy uggs. They fitted perfectly on my size 8 clown feet with no wearing in needed. For a good quality boot they are really light and easy to wear all day and night. I have lived in them since I got them in the spring and for some of the summer too as I live in Fife so the summer was a wash out! I have never had wet toes. My little boy likes the rocket dog logo on the boot.
I was so impressed with these boots in black I have bought a second pair in honey and am seriously thinking about gettting them in the purple too! The kids in my street think I am cool when I wear them, not bad for a 37 old!
I have had my rocket dog boots for about 3 years now and they are brilliant! My 'Ugg' type ones lasted about a month and then the sole fell apart but these have a proper sole and have literally not worn down on the bottom at all. They are really snug and cosy and I live in mine every year from September until spring! Really recommend them. I got mine from www.shoe-envy.co.uk where they also have lots of other shoes and boots by rocket dog.
If you are looking for a pair of boots that will last you ages then these are definately the ones to go for. They fit fairly snugly on the calf but can be rolled up and down or pushed down for a slouchy look so even I managed to fit my fat shins into them comfortably (!) without them looking too large. These are even in the sale now, so they are even more of a bargain than before!
A while ago my work have decided to crack down on the dress code; mostly where I'm concerned it would seem. I have no idea why, but no matter what pair of trousers I put on in the morning, they are automatically "jeans" by the time I arrive at work, and now they're targeting my shoes. Okay, so it was pushing my luck a bit wearing black Etnies or DCs for the past year or so, so I buckled down and wore the most casual "non-trainers" I could get away with, which were made by Rocket Dog.
I found them really comfy, just like my Rocket Dog pumps (which I am no longer allowed to wear at work) and when I saw these boots on Amazon for half price, decided it wouldn't hurt to have something a bit more substantial for winter. After trudging through town this morning in the snow, I'm glad I did!
I wasn't too keen on buying shoes online before trying them on, so hunted the Sugar Daddy boots down in a shop to see how they were. Impressed at how furry and cosy they were, I headed back home to pick some up online for the bargain price of £29.99.
I've been wearing these boots pretty much every day since, and I'm very impressed. I bought them in black, and despite having a suede outer they haven't picked up any scuffs or discoloration. They also don't get soaked through in the wet weather - I have noticed a few girls this morning walking through the snow with Ugg-style boots that were soaked through on the toes - but these stay nice and dry.
The inside is really warm and furry and they honestly feel like wearing slippers. When trying them on in the shop, my friend told me that it looked like that too - but hey, I'm warm!
Looks-wise, yes they do look similar to a lot of furry boots out there, they have a squarer toe than most and don't look just like carbon copies of Uggs. To be honest, I think they look better, I never got into the whole Ugg phase, they certainly are Uggly to me at least, and definitely not worth the hefty pricetag.
The boots have a good thick sole with decent grips, I haven't slipped around yet on the ice which is unusual for me so they must be doing something right! The top of the boot doesn't have a lot of give, so you might not be able to wear them with your trousers tucked in unless you're wearing skinny jeans or leggings, of course depending how thick your own calves are!
Sugar Daddies come in five colours - purple, brown, tan, black and grey - all of which are available at Schuh online for £63. Some shades are available on Amazon but prices vary quite a bit and average the £50 mark - nowhere near as cheap as I picked them up on sale, unfortunately! I have seen them in several high street shoe shops eg Office for around £60.
I still think these are great boots. I can see them lasting a long time, I've definitely worn my other Rocket Dog shoes to death, and they have dealt well with unpleasant weather both rain and snow. I always get home with dry socks which is worth even a full pricetag for me! The furry inside has also not "smushed down" yet as some do after a couple of wears - it's still fluffy and cosy as the day I got them!
If you don't fancy an Ugg pricetag and want to be *slightly* more individual than the hundreds of girls wearing furry boots this winter, I really recommend Sugar Daddies!
