“ Brand: Rockstorm / Mens Military Style Boots. / Type: Boots „
I got these boots after they popped up in my recommended for you on the amazon.co.uk homepage. Now normally I completely ignore these recommendations as usually they are nothing like what I was originally looking at but I gave these a quick glance and went to click away until I seen the price of them which made me do a backtrack and look closer.
The price of these boots is £25 which is frankly quite unbelievable as even the cheapest high street store are selling military style boots for at least double this amount.
I had been wanting to get a pair of military boots for a while now and had actually settled on a pair for river island that were going to cost me £80 but looking at the Rockberry ones they looked pretty much identical.
I had a voucher to spend so I decided to get them. I thought at £25 they were probably not going to be great quality but as long as they lasted me for the winter then I would be happy. I noticed after paying for them that they didn't actually come from amazon but a third party seller which I have never used before but there were no problems with delivery and I received them in a good time.
I was more than pleasantly surprised to see that the quality was a lot better than I was expecting and at first glance there was no noticeable difference in quality between these and the more expensive ones I have seen.
They aren't made from leather but a manmade material but again this isn't that noticeable at first glance and doesn't detract from the look or feel or the boots.
The sole is really chunky and attached really well to the actual boot and the whole thing just seems sturdy and really well made.
They are really comfortable to wear and my size 10 has plenty of room with no tightness around the toes. They feel quite loose but not enough to be uncomfortable and I think that I might have actually got away with a smaller size in them but the 10 fits well enough.
When they are on my feet they are quite heavy and I really feel as though I am wearing work boots or something that would do at a building site which is the look I was after.
Inside they are lined with a kind of fur material which is lovely and makes me wish I could wear them without socks but I hate when my feet sweat.
The quality of the workman ship continues throughout the whole boot and I have wore these in the really bad weather we have been having lately and even after a day of traipsing around town through puddles my feet remained completely dry.
I have had no problems with blisters and because they are high they don't cause rubbing on my ankle which is a problem I have had with shoes and boots in the past where they rub the skin off the back of my ankle when they are new.
The one thing I was slightly disappointed with was the fact that the boots weren't quite as distressed as I would have maybe liked but then I realised that this comes with wearing the boots and getting them scuffed etc and they haven't got protection against this but they aren't supposed to as they are meant to look old and worn in.
I have been really impressed with these boots and can highly recommend them as they are extremely trendy but also really well made and half the price of the high street.
I love the whole military look thats in right now but i'm sometimes shocked at the prices of the shoes when you see them. They go well over the 100 pounds sometimes and that's something I can't simply spend on shoes. I was very pleased when I saw these Rockstorm Perry shoes for only 25 pounds! That's a big difference compared to some other shoes but I have to say you can't tell from the outside!
The shoes come in black and are typical high shoe military style with laces going to the top. The shoes are surprisingly comfortable while wearing them. I don't find them the most comfortable shoes I ever had but I can walk easily a day in them. They do feel a bit loose with the material but they feel secure enough. The bottom is sturdy and of good quality. After wearing them for a while now the sole is still in once piece so that's good. Also the shoe still looks and only a little bit worn down.
What I love with these military shoe is the way you can wear them. You can wear op all laced up and with your jeans over them or tucked in. But you can also wear the shoes more open and turn the high bit down which really gives it a more relaxed look. I love to tuck in my skinny jeans and they always make me feel tough while walking in them.
I don't think you can really go wrong with these ones since they are only 25 pounds! I'm still amazed because they look and feel really expensive. They are of good quality but of course you can tell the difference. The material is not as good and feels a little bit cheap but nothing you can really notice from look at them. Walking is great in them so overall four stars for me!
If you hit any of the big high street retailers like Topman, River Island and Next at the moment, then you will see a plethora of these boots lining the shelves. It seems that the UK has gone boot crazy within the last few months. Maybe people were getting bored of the trainer and the shoe market needed a boot up the backside (excuse pun.) At first I could not see the appeal in the boots, having had a pair of Doc Martins a few years back, I felt Converse were the way forward. That was until I saw dozens of blokes walking round with these on and pulling off the model look to a tee. I had to have some then of course!
These boots come in at the more affordable end of the market, at twenty five pounds they were a lot cheaper than the fifty pounds some shops were asking for. Manmade from a synthetic material, you probably would not be able to tell unless you got close up an started touching them all over. I wanted a pair to go with my skinny fit jeans and I have to say they look brilliant with them. The high rise look of them works tucked under a jean or trouser and looks equally cool left undone in the casual way. The laces have a generous length to them too so you have the option of lacing halfway or right to the tip.
The boots are tough and sturdy and actually more comfortable than they appear on first glance. With support at the toe area you feel cushioned too and there is an inner lining for extra comfort. I reckon these will be great for winter months when you need to embrace ice on the pavements, as the grips are good on the sole too. Tight stitching, comfy all round and very much fashion savvy at the moment, these are a great buy for the guys who want a distressed casual boot for fashion wear.
After looking at the usual suspects for a new pair of boots, All Saints and the like, i came across these on Amazon and thought I would give them a try. The recession is in full swing and having lost my job I am in no position to fork out £100+ for boots when i can buy a similar pair for much less. I saw the pictures on Amazon and didnt expect them to quite live upto my expectations.
The boots arrived and they were exactly what I were looking for. They are very sturdy and the distressed look suits the boots very well indeed. They are very comfortable too, and I made sure I bought the correct size and they fit very well to the size I am used to wearing. The boots are black and the uppers are man made with a fabric lining and synthetic sole.
They definately feel that they will last, and for £25 I am very happy with the feel of them. They do feel a quality pair of boots and in the future I will be looking at cheaper shoes/boots for bargains because generally I think the highstreet are overcharging their customers and bargains are to be had online.
I would say that if you are looking for a decent pair of boots that are going to last then these could be for you. Instead of spending many times the cost of these then they are well worth considering.
