== Roxy Gena Slippers ==
I bought 3 pairs of these slippers for the bargain price of £4.89 a pair from Play.com back in February of this year . I bought 2 pairs in the pink , and 1 pair in black , 1 for myself and 2 pairs for gifts. Roxy is a brand of surf wear from Quiksilver.
The slippers come wrapped in tissue paper and are also boxed . The R.R.P on the tag is £19.99. So for the price I had paid I was very pleased with them . I have previously owned Roxy slippers and they were good quality and lasted well . Unfortunately these have not been as good .
== The Slipper ==
The pink slippers, which are the ones I kept for myself come in 3 sizes , small for sizes 3-4 , medium for sizes 5-6, and large for sizes 7-8 . I bought a small for my size 3 feet and they are very generous , maybe even slightly too big , but as they are slippers you can get away with it .
The whole of the outside of the slipper is covered in a furry pink faux fur , the ones I have have a shaggy effect to the fur with some white on the tips. There is a Roxy embroidered label on both slippers .
They have a thick foam bottom , and on the underneath is a strong black sole which looks like it's made of faux leather .
==In Use ==
I saved these slippers to take away with me when I went away at Easter and was looking forward to them keeping my feet warm . On 1st wear of the slippers I was pleased with them , unlike some slippers with thick foam bottoms these didn't feel like you were moon walking, the foam molds well to the foot and they are comfortable and fit well straight away. They definitely keep your feet lovely and warm and are fairly easy to walk in , although they can be a bit tricky when going up the stairs as they are quite bulky.
The bottom of the slipper, whilst tougher than the rest is not really made for outside use , a quick nip to the car on a dry day and you will be okay , but I wouldn't suggest anything more.
After about 4 weeks of wear I started to noticed how shabby they were looking , the fur has not lasted well and looks matted and discoloured already . The thick foam sole is now as flat as a pancake and they seem to have become baggy and wider than before.
The slippers have now had 8 weeks wear and are headed for the bin , they are still comfortable and keep your feet warm but they look so tatty and old . For the price I paid it's not the end of the world, but had I paid full price I think I would be seriously complaining .
== Thoughts ==
Okay for £5 or less but even then you could find better, but no way are they worth £20 . The 2 extra pairs I bought , I gave as gifts to friends in March .
I have talked to both friends about the slippers, and they have the same feelings as I have , the quality is not what you would expect from Roxy and neither of their pairs are lasting well.
2 out of 5 , a disappointment
==Roxy Gena Grey Slippers==
There is nothing I like better than having a lovely pair of comfy slippers to put on when I get home and I have to admit to having a rather large collection. These Roxy Gena Slippers are more or less the latest addition to my collection and I have to say I am really liking them.
I paid just under £30 for them from my local surf type shop. This may seem expensive for some as you can pick up a fairly decent pair of slippers from New look or Peacocks for under £10. However not only are these slippers a branded name, they are also extremely pleasant to look at and made to a high standard. When I have previously bought Roxy slippers they last a good many years whereas you can purchase a pair from Peacocks and they only last a few months before loosing shape and comfortable feeling.
Thee slippers from Roxy come in a choice of two different colours which are bright pink or a subtle grey colour. I opted for the grey as I am not a big wearer of pink things and when purchasing thought the grey would hide any dirt better! On the top of the slipper there is a small Roxy logo which is stitched into the slipper in a pink cotton.
The slippers are of a slip on type and the size 6 that I am fitted perfectly and wasn't too large or too small. The fluffiness of the slipper is something I really like (and so does Mums dog Harry so I have to keep him away from them!) the fur is soft and fluffy and the inside of the slipper gives a very comfortable cushioned base to put my foot in.
the bottom of the slipper is really perfect for me as it is not heavy duty in the slightest. It has a rubbery type feel to it which means that I get a good grip whilst walking on my laminate flooring and I don't get a too loud noise when I walk up and down the flat as I do when I have a shoe on or a slipper with a thick sole. This was one of the main reasons I purchased them as my last slippers were too clunky to slop around the hard flooring on.
So overall, the slippers were a little highly priced but you do get what you pay for, they look and feel good to wear and for the few months that I have had them they are wearing very. I have had Roxy slippers before and they do last a good amount of time thus getting your monies worth from them.
For these reasons I feel that a top score of 5 out of 5 stars and an exceptionally high recommendation is well deserved.
I do hope that this has been of some hep/interest to you.
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
