Being an estate agent it's always difficult to find a pair of shoes that are comfy, hard wearing and stylish, the Samuel Windsor Classic Sandhurst shoes I bought really do tick all the boxes.
I will be back for more but I think it may be a while because these shoes show no sign of giving up on me any time soon.....
I bought a pair of black Chelsea boots from Samuel Windsor and I'm really pleased with them.
My feet are a slightly odd size, so I took a gamble on a nine and a half sized boot and they fit perfect.
For £45 I really can't argue with the quality. I've been wearing them virtually everyday for a month and they're really comfortable. There's no signs of deterioration yet, so I'm confident that they'll last.
I recently ordered a pair of Chelsea boots from Samuel Windsor.
The pair arrived in good time, and I wore them for one weekend.
After the weekend I decided to insert an insole to make the fit more snug. The insole would not fit in. So I put my hand in the boot to investigate why this was so. This ended up with me stabbing myself on a nail which was sticking directly into the inside of the boot. The nail had been missing my toe by probably half a centimetre whilst my foot was in the boot. I was extremely lucky not to have slipped in the shoes and done some serious injury.
The costumer service representative was most unhelpful, offering me a refund or replacement. Not mentioning the fact that a product that they produced could have potentially caused serious injury. They did not even offer me a pair of shoes in compensation or a discount on a future purchase.
Considering the fact that I am a repeat customer at Samuel Windsor I am extremely surprised that more effort was not made to apologise for such a potential danger.
I just hope that this is not a production line fault and that others can safely purchase Samuel Windsor shoes.
- wear with care!
I work in the music business, and you'd be surprised at the amount of walking I have to do! It isn't all sitting there playing the violin or the cello. We have to lug are equipment, from here to there throughout the day, and I do end up with rather tried feet sometimes.
Well, I should really correct that to "did end up with tired feet."
My shoes from Samuel Windsor are a complete revelation! I had never heard of the company before until one afternoon I was round at a friend's house and saw one of their catalogues.
I was amazed, and indeed a bit skeptical. Some of the prices were incredible, much less than I was used to. But I thought I'd take a punt and order a pair of Prestige Oxford shoes and as I said, I was mightily impressed.
They are comfortable, stylish and were even supplied with a shore horn so I don't have to struggle (as even with comfy shoes, my back can get stiff from heavy lifting). Since then I have ordered some slippers, which I wear round the house, and also when I do the weekly horrible chore of putting the bins out.
I have recently ordered some trousers, and if they are as well priced and good quality, I will leave another review.
I waffle now, but in short, Samuel Windsor = excellent!
Bought a couple of pairs through Groupon. Huge mistake! The deck shoes arrived and the upper layer of the sole was eaten through literally, 365 degrees around the shoe, by mould on both shoes. Obviously moisture penetrates right through the shoes and these were neither made nor stored well. I am yet to hear back from my first complaint I sent a week before about my Groupon code not being accepted at first, so I have little hope of hearing about a refund now. STEER CLEAR!!!!
Country Brogues - you might expect them to be hard wearing. They took 10 weeks to arrive. After 2 weeks both soles started to crack. I was abroad so could not send them back. When I got home after 2 months the heels had worn down to nothing and both soles had split in half. No refund offered because they were "worn out". Whose fault was that? I have never before worn out a pair of shoes in 2 months. Shoddy goods, shoddy service.
I bought 2 pairs of their deck shoes (supposedly reduced from £230 for the pair to just £50). Each shoe, I swear is a different size! The soles are all the same size but the uppers vary wildly. One pair of the shoes even has completely different coloured stitching compared to the others. There is no way on earth that anyone would spend £115 per pair on such rubbish. Needless to say both pairs have gone back (at my expense). A very disappointing experience. Be aware that this company also trades under the name Clifford James...
I,ve been buying Samuel Windsor clothes and shoes for a few years on and off. The latest offering looks pretty good on the website and value for my hard earned cash. It wears well and looks smart even after plenty of use. The quilted jacket is easily as good as anything else out there, well happy with it.Bought the suede chukka boots and the country brogue with the rubber sole for work and I can wear them all day, every day. There smart and don't tire my feet as I do a lot of walking in my job. I don't usually buy off the internet because of the hassle of sorting it out if it goes wrong. This was hassle free. The website was easy for me to understand and I,mm not the greatest with computers, and I got my order the next day so can,t say fairer than that. I,ll probably use them again.
Clearly SW shoes seem to be v variable by the reviews. But just to say I have been v pleased with my shoes.Smart, lasting well.I wear them a lot.And with shoe trees, and a damp microfibre cloth to wipe away stains, marks, etc. They are doing pretty well.Yes a bit wider than I would like (will probably go down 1/2 a size in future)But these are suede loafers for £35, not £150 !!
Over the years I have purchased 6 pairs of shoes from this company (normally BOGOF) and every time I swear it will be my last. My complaint regards the stitching and the sole. I always buy leather upper/leather sole, Chelsea boots or brogues. On every occassion the sole has simply come away from the upper the moment any moisture is around. My final pair fell apart last week when I foolishly stepped into a shallow puddle during the recent rains. The moment I stepped off the train I knew I was stuffed and these shoes did not disappoint - actually they did completely disappointed (if you get my drift).SIMPLE TERRIBLE SHOES.PLEASE BE WARNED.
I bought from this company due to what was an apparently good price in the glossy brochure. The boots arrived and were of such poor quality that I immediately returned them. As someone who pays full price for Grensons and Church's etc I could not in any conscience wear these very poor and cheap immitations. Full credit to the company, they returned the amount in full very rapidly.
jusr recived one pair of samuel windsor shoes will not be purchasing another pair, aesthertically the sole is to big for the shoe,i hadnt contemplated going hiking in them, and i dought the leather has ever heard of italy.you live and learn......tony
I bought 2 pairs, the brown chelsea boots and some plain lace up brown shoes. They are the most uncomfortable shoes ive ever worn. They are hard on the feet inside, have poor grip and also hurt my knees! I think because they are so rigid.
My body and legs and feet in particular have taken a great deal of punishment over the years, through regular sport at a high level for more than 20 years. Now although my pace of life has slowed considerably I still need to look smart for dinner events, meetings and some work on television and appreciate the comfort of a well made shoe. I spent some of my career working in Italy and have appreciated handmade shoes with italian leather ever since that time. My Samuel Windsor Pesaro shoes look great and fit perfectly allowing me to wear them all day long in complete comfort. I have had them now for six months and they still look as good as new and since that time I have also added a pair of messina shoes and even purchased a pair of slippers also which are ideal for sitting down to watch match of the day with.
Overall I am really pleased with the service, comfort and style of the footwear - Samuel Windsor allows me to stand out from the crowd but not pay £££'s for the privilege.
I currently own a number of products from the Samuel Windsor range. My first pair of shoes from them, the Chelsea Boots, were purchased for me by my daughter as a present after I came across their website www.samuel-windsor.co.uk.
I can fully recommend the Samuel Windsor products. The products are great quality, long-lasting - I have worn them continuously for some time now - and the service is brilliant. I was so pleased with my Chelsea Boots I proceeded to purchase a pair for my son which he has been completely happy with. After initially finding the size I ordered were slightly too large for him, the service we received when exchanging them was outstanding. The customer service agents were polite and helpful and we had the exchanged shoes sent to us within a week of returning the wrong sized shoes.
Since then I have also purchased the Black Oxford Shoes and, recently, the Classic Deck Shoes and have been entirely satisfied with both pairs. My brother purchased shoes at the same time as me and I know he is considering buying more as he is also thoroughly impressed by the quality of his current Samuel Windsor shoes. I received a free tie with my order which is also of outstanding quality.
To sum up, the products are of high quality, and as for the bad reviews I have come across, all I can say is that nothing is perfect and no doubt the odd order may have problems, but don't let this put you off ordering. I would, and will, definitely recommend Samuel Windsor products to anyone.
