A great summer shoe from Scholl

Its amazing that whilst Scholl sandals are known to be comfortable they are not really known for having an incredibly stylish range of footwear. I have had the almost flat exercise type sandals over the years and found them to be nice for summer time wear, although I have never considered them to be very up to date in terms of their looks.

When I came across my Scholl Fara Sandals I was really rather amazed that they were cute and funky and looked as though they could give many of the summer style wedge fronted sandals I have a run for their money. As they were not listed here I thought it was worth a product suggestion as these are a great addition to the Scholl range that are something a little bit different.

These Scholl Fara Sandals came in a choice of either sand or blue and I have to say that both shades looked great. In fact it was a really hard choice to just pick out 1 pair. The sand is very subtle and would go great with a light tan, but the blue was a bit different and stood out for me just a little bit more. I rather liked the combination of the smart navy blue shade mixed with the casual summer styling of the shoe, so went for that option.

The sizing for the Scholl Fara Sandals was from 3 up to size 8 at the time. There were no half sizes, but I haven't felt that I missed that at all, as the sizing seemed fine. With these being a sling back type of shoe with an elasticated bit to one side of the heel strap, I have found the fit to be comfy after wearing them in. I feel the size range and elasticated heel strap would perhaps suit those whose feet sometimes fall into the half size category and allow them to get a good fit.

The details on my Scholl Fara Sandals are rather good. I really like the leather and suede mix as it seems to work well with the rubber and cork base or sole of the shoes. The suede heel detail is rather good as it gives the shoes a more expensive look. It can rub if you try to wear these when driving, so I wouldn't advise that if you want to keep the sued heels looking great.

The side detailing of the shoes is nice with a series of eyelets that have a slim leather thread running through them. The chunky Scholl shoe buckle at the peep toe end and is complemented by an array of fringing cut to a point along the front edge. I think this really adds to the look of the shoes. The mix of suede and leather is really good and adds so much texture and interest to the shoes, I feel this makes them stand out from the crowd a bit more.

With these being made by Scholl you do expect these to have a comfy feel. I have to say that they did take a degree of wearing in before they felt at home on my feet. I really like them but they were not a simple fit and go shoe for me. I had to get used to them which did cause a bit of rubbing towards the toe area. Having worn them since new they have settled more and are now a nicer fit and feel comfy when I wear them.

The soles of the shoes have a rubber type slightly chunky grip pattern, which I feel suits them. There is a light wedge at the front end of the shoes which means the 8 cm high heel doesn't feel as high as it might have done. I feel these can be worn with a number of smart or casual looks in nice weather and at £35 they offer good value for money as they are a well presented shoe made from durable and quality materials. Over all these are a nice shoe and so they ought to get a 4 star rating.
