“ Brand: Schuh / Type: Court Shoes „
My love affair with shoes began at an early age and the obsession has just grew and grew! I'm a complete sucker when it comes to shoe sales and whilst I was in Newcastle over the Christmas period I wasn't short of a store to browse in and maybe, possibly come away with a pair of shoes much to my partner's annoyance and constant moaning about how we are going to fit everything in the car!
Schuh is a store that I don't buy from all that regularly for some reason although when I do go into a store I can find quite a few pairs of shoes I will happily buy! Schuh like generally all stores have large sales and I was quite happy to browse whilst my other half was off doing his 'man' shopping. After trying on a few pairs of shows I sensibly opted for a pair which would be highly suitable for work and they were half price!
The shoes in question are called Schuh Roche Bar Court Shoes. They come in black, cream or red and I opted for the cream pair as I really do like the classic black and cream colour combination and that I have quite a few pairs of plain black shoes! The cream version are no longer available from Schuh but the black and red are at full price although Schuh do have an Ebay store where they sometimes start some pairs of shoes off at 99p so worth a look.
What Schuh say:-
"Ladylike lovelies from Schuh! The Roche Bow Court has a dainty silhouette created with a vivid leather upper and cute 7cm kitten heel. If you have an eye for vintage detail then take in the skinny patent strap across the vamp polished off with a bow."
The shoes do have a round toe but in the flesh so to speak they don't look as round as the picture on the website makes out which is good as the picture doesn't represent these shoes well and no doubt could put a few people off as the front of the shoe does look a little large compared to the shoe itself. The round toe does provide plenty of room for the front of the foot and the shoes are not overly narrow either which is great as they give you enough room for your feet to be comfortable without feeling restricted.
The sides of the shoes do give a little support but they are quite low when on the foot so don't expect your foot to feet incredibly supported although the heel area of the shoe does go up the ankle quite a way which does make your feet feel secure and with the added strap despite its narrow size it does offer a little help. I've never had a problem with these shoes when wearing them. I think as long as you buy the correct size then you'll be fine, although I think people with very narrow feet may find them a bit wide and ultimately quite loose on.
The narrow patent black strap is a lovely touch of detail which although completely fixed to the shoe (it can't be removed or adjusted) it allows enough room not to be tight over your foot which is great. It doesn't cause any rubbing when wearing and is just a nice piece of detail which without this the shoes would actually be quite boring! The shoes themselves are made of leather and are quite soft and supple when first bought which is quite nice. I've worn my pair quite a lot of times now and they have never once rubbed but the leather hasn't given as much as I thought it would have done but I am certainly not complaining as the shape of my shoes stays the same for longer!
Now if you've read any of my shoe reviews I tend to go for huge skyscraper heels and these shoes have a delicate kitten heel which measures just 7cm! I feel like I am wearing flat shoes when I wear these! However, the black patent heel contrasts nicely with the cream shoe and it is actually quite nice to wear a lower heel now and again. The heel style really does suit these shoes and they are overall a lovely pair of shoes which are quite cute and girly but the patent black strap really does finish them off.
My pair of shoes have been worn quite a lot of times since buying them in December and I can't complain about them whatsoever. They are comfortable even after wearing them for 9 hours long and they haven't rubbed my feet which is a bonus. The low heel certainly makes them a nice, welcomed change from my usual stiletto heels but these are cute and girly and incredibly vital for the workwear wardrobe! It's a shame that they don't make the cream version of the shoes but I definitely recommend these shoes in any of the available colours!
