A nice pair of shoes for any occasion

After having a look through my shoes to try and decide on a pair to go with my dress for my sons Christening at the weekend I decided that a lot of pairs I had had for years and they were starting to look a bit shabby and needed replacing, I discovered that I didn't really have any plain black shoes other than my old work shoes which were falling apart so on my next trip into town I decided to have a quick look in my local Select to see what they had, I have purchased shoes from them before and have always got on well with them so was hoping that they would have some black shoes in a suitable style. After having a quick look at what they had to offer I spotted the Select Black Patent Court Shoes, they were quite plain and simple but ideal for what I wanted.

The Court Shoes didn't come with any sort of packaging and they didn't come in a box, they were simply placed in a bag when I paid for them at the counter. The shoes are a traditional court shoe style, they cover part of the top of your foot coming up the sides of your feet and up around your heel, and they have a slightly rounded pointed toe. The shoes obviously as they name suggests are made form a very shiny black patent material and have a 4 inch thin heel which is covered in the same shiny black material. What makes these shoes a bit different to regular plain black shoes is the fact that the whole of the soul and under side of the heel are bright red which is a lovely contrast against the black shoe, it was this red sole that drew me to the shoes. The inside of the shoes are just plain black allowing them to blend in with the main part of the shoe, the only detail is the name Select written on a small black label in white writing, the size of the shoe also appears on this label.

When I decided to buy some new black shoes I didn't want anything too expensive just something I would feel happy wearing for everyday use. The Select Black Patent Court Shoes certainly fitted into this category, obviously they are only available in Select as they are their own brand product and they are just £10.00, personally I thought this was an excellent price, the shoes are nice quality and finished to a good standard so in my opinion they were well worth the money, I was actually expecting to pay more for a pair of shoes so was pleasantly surprised to see that these were so reasonable.

The Select Black Patent Court Shoes come in a range of sizes starting at size 3 and going up to size 7 so there is something for pretty much everyone. Personally I have found the sizes to be pretty accurate, I am a size 6 and found that a 6 in these shoes fitted perfectly, due to the low price I did wonder whether the sizes may be not be as generous or as accurate, however this was not the case I found the sizing to be perfect. As well as a range of sizes these shoes also come in different colours, materials and patterns all of which were the same prices.

I was hoping that the Select Black Patent Court Shoes would be comfortable as I wanted them for everyday wear, when I first put them on I was pleased to discover that the insides were slightly padded making them soft and comfortable as I walked, also the edges were smooth and rounded again making them comfortable as I walked in them, they did not pinch the skin on my feet at all. Despite the pointed toe the shoes were plenty wide enough around my toes, my feet did not feel squashed at all, they were extremely comfortable.

I particularly like the red sole of the shoes as it makes them a little bit different to plain black shoes, these shoes are smart so could be worn with most outfits for an evening out, or they are comfortable enough to wear for everyday outings, I personally prefer to wear heels even if I am just going out shopping, for some reason I have always felt more comfortable in heels rather than flat shoes and the heel in these shoes was just the right height.

I would highly recommend the Select Black Patent Court Shoes, they are extremely comfortable, ideal for any occasions and are also very reasonably priced, I have been so pleased with my shoes that I will be purchasing them in another colour.
