I would recommend these from Select

A few weeks ago I was shopping around for a new pair of work shoes, I work in an office so do not do a huge amount of walking around so can get away with wearing pretty much any type of heel. When purchasing myself a new pair of work shoes I like to try and buy something which I can wear out as well as for work. After hunting around the local shops I found a cheap pair of shoes in Select, smart enough to wear for work yet also suitable for general wear, and they were also in the sale which was even better.

The shoes I purchased were Patent T Bar court Shoes. The shoes are made from a black textured patent leather effect material, the front which covers the front of the foot/ toe area is slightly pointed and curved so that it follows the natural line of your toes. The side of the shoes are totally open, however there is a back to the shoes and this consists of the same textured patent leather effect material which curves round your heel. Attached to the back part of the shoes is a thin strap, again made from the same material, this then threads through the T Bar section which is attached to the front of the shoe, when worn this sits flat against the front of your foot. Once threaded through the T Bar the strip fastens around the ankle with a small gold buckle. The Patent T Bar Court Shoes have a reasonable high heel which measures 4 and a half inches, I would not say they are stiletto heels but they are quite thin and I think they may need re-heeling quite quickly, the heels are also covered in the same textured patent material as the rest of the shoe, the shoes also have a slight platform at the front of the shoe (again covered in the same material to blend in) this is only about 1inch at the most and makes the heels seem a little less high when wearing them all day at work.

I did wonder how comfortable the shoes would be to wear especially with the T Bar going the length of your foot, however I did find them to be extremely comfortable. The bottom of the shoe (the area where your foot sits) is in no way padded and to feel is quite hard however when wearing the shoes this is not the case, I find that without any form of padding the shoes really do support your feet as you walk which is important considering there are no actual sides to these shoes. The strap and the T Bar are also very soft on your skin and do not rub at all, again important when wearing the shoes all day at work.

As I have said I brought my Patent T Bar Court shoes from my local Select, I have also found that they are available online, when I purchased them they cost me just £10 which I think is a real bargain, however when being sold at full price they still only cost £16 which I think is still cheap for a pair of shoes. The shoes appear to be well made and are still in excellent condition after wearing them everyday for work for a few weeks, so far they have been worth the money.

I don't really have anything negative to say about these shoes, if I had to comment on something it would be that the heel is a little on the thin side and I feel that it will wear down quickly and need re heeling, although this is not a problem as I will get metal heels put on and these last for months. The only other thing I would say is that continuous driving in the shoes means that the patent material on the heel tends to scuff and scratch easily and wear off, again this can be avoided my not wearing them to drive in too much.

Overall I would definitely recommend Selects Patent T Bar Court Shoes, not only are they very reasonably priced even when being sold at full price, they are also extremely well made and so far have proved to be hardwearing especially considering how cheap they were. The shoes also look smart for work but are also they sort of shoes you could wear for any occasion. I have found the shoes to be very comfortable to wear all day at work and have suffered with no blisters or sore feet. The heels are quite high on these shoes and may not be suitable if you do a lot of walking around at work or are not use to wearing high heels but all in all I would certainly recommend them.
