~Shoe Zone Ballerina Pumps~
Shoe Zone is a highstreet store offering a wide range of footwear for adults and children. Shoe Zone (online and instore) stock a varied range of ladies ballerina pumps which are essentially flat shoes. Today I will be discussing the 'Black and White Print Bow Ballerina Pumps'.
These ballerina pumps are available in ladies sizes 3-9. The pumps are made from textile and synthetic materials. These pumps are 'Lilley' branded and are simple flat pumps which are white with a black print, silver stick on pieces and finished off with a black bow at the front.
These pumps are available from www.shoezone.com and instore priced at £9.99 per pair.
I practically live in my trainers and slipper boots. I very rarely have the need for nice shoes and cannot seem to abide high heeled footwear anymore. Knowing I had a few nights out planned over the festive season, I needed to expand my footwear collection a little. I usually only wear pumps in the Summer but couldn't resist buying another pair even though it was November! Being a size 8.5 results in me having very limited footwear choice and pretty footwear is rare in this size.
I hadn't planned to buy the black and white pumps. I had originally spotted a gorgeous pair of black bow pumps but when I returned the next day with some cash, my local Shoe Zone had sold out of my size. Another Shoe Zone in the next town didn't have my size either which I was a little annoyed about. I needed a pair quickly and checked what they had in a size 9. I finally settled on the black and white print pumps and have worn them a few times since. They certainly won't be getting worn out in the snow!
The pumps have a very slightly raised circular pattern on the heel area and a gripper section but the pumps do not have the best grips - still to boots for slippy pavements! I have one foot bigger than the other - an 8 and an 8.5. I would say that these pumps aren't as generous in terms of fitting compared to other Shoe Zone pumps. My larger foot felt slightly restricted and the smaller foot fitted into the other shoe perfectly. I have wide feet and found that these pumps could accommodate my wide feet with ease.
These pumps are comfortable enough to wear. They do not fully support my feet as the sides of the pumps do not extend very far up my foot - not exactly practical but i don't wear them for doing lots of walking or climbing hills or anything! I didn't experience any discomfort or rubbing the first time (or any other time) I wore these pumps. The sole is made from a firm material which whilst quite thin, doesn't cause me to feel every lump and bump under my feet. I can walk around comfortably for a few hours in these pumps. I would have liked to wear a pair of thin black socks or tights with these pumps but I feel this would result in my feet feeling more restricted.
The design of these pumps won't appeal to all. It reminds of an animal print which is something I wouldn't usually opt for. On one occasion, I was planning on wearing these pumps with black jeans and a black top. They looked good with my rather plain choice of clothing but may be a bit too 'decorative' to wear with more colourful patterns in my opinion. White makes up the background and looks clean whilst the black pattern and silver discs add a bit of sparkle and create a nice looking pattern. The bow on the front is well stitched on and completes the look of the pumps beautifully.
I recently wore these on a night away and it was raining. My feet got wet as you would expect so they aren't the most practical of shoes when it comes to typical British weather! They are fairly comfortable despite being a little undersized. The design is nice enough but a bit much for wearing to work or an interview for example. I don't think I could get as much wear from these compared to my smart black pumps due to the pattern design. My pumps still look like new. There has been no damage to the sole and no silver discs appear to have fallen off.
Good for under a tenner!
