“ Brand: Shoe Zone / Type: Boots „
I purchased a grey pair of knitted boots in Shoe Zone in Glasgow in January this year for £10 for my six year old daughter. I had been looking for a pair of boots to match an outfit of my daughters but had struggled to find anything suitable. I stumbled upon the boots whilst shopping for slippers for my myself and they were exactly what I wanted. I would not normally purchase my daughters shoes from this store as I tend to stick with another shoe shop that I know to be of good quality and fitting etc. however on this occasion I decided to give the boots a try.
The boots are between ankle and calf width and are Ugg style with a knitted exterior and three large buttons. I found them to very stylish and at £10 a fantastic bargain. On first wearing the boots fitted my daughter very well and she advised they were very comfortable. After the boots had been worn a few times the problems started. The knitted exterior became shabby looking with catches in the wool and very dirty looking. I found it almost impossible to clean the woolly exterior and most of the dirt remained. My daughter started to walk out of the boots, almost as if they had stretched slightly after a few wearings, she began to complain they were now uncomfortable and they were no longer wearable. It was at this point I disposed of the boots in the recycling.
Overall I feel that I probably got what I paid for. I purchased a stylish but very cheap pair of boots that only lasted a few wearings. I think I was expecting high quality from a low priced item.
I got a pair of these Boots in late November and i'm still wearing them thesedays. They are keeping my feet nice and cosy, and although it seemed like all the bad weather had passed, today in Scotland I woke up to a light covering of Snow with some more blowing through. Not great. Where is all the nice weather?
I got a pair of these for £16.99. I really want a pair of Ugg Boots, but don't really want to pay the price for them, so since these look similar than I thought they were worth the price tag. I don't expect them to last all that long to be honest, but i've basically been wearing them constantly when out for over 3 months, and although they are certainly looking worn, they are still holding up.
These look like the Dooyoo picture - as usual. Thanks Dooyoo. The sole of these aren't all that thick, and have a light enough ridge on them. They will provide a bit grip, but aren't super Grippy. These are pretty cosy since the fabric is folded over as shown in the picture. Although the Buttons are probably there for decoration, you can unbutton this part and unfold the fabric and pull this up your legs. I've never tried it this way as I get the image that these won't stay up and fall down my Legs again. Perhaps I will try them this way sometime.
So how are these now holding up after all this use? The Soles are slightly scuffed away a bit as a few of the ridges don't seem quite as deep now, but they are still watertight and still keep my feet dry and cosy.
If you can still get these then I would recommend these. You get similar designed Boots in lots of different shops so a worthwhile buy and recommended by me.
When we were all wearing our winter boots my three year old (already a shoe addict) spotted this pair of knitted boots in Shoe Zone. Now, I know Shoe Zone are cheap but I feel the quality isn't always as good as it could be and I only actually bought them for her as I knew they'd look fab with the jeggings she was going to wear to a party that afternoon.
The boots are available in black, pink and grey. Ordinarily I'd have gone for the pink pair (as I love the colour!) but although it was a bright pink it looked quite washed out and I had a feeling that particular colour wouldn't have been as versatile as the classic black. The grey boots looked great but unfortunately they didn't have Hollies size in stock and as I needed them that day we were kinda stuck with the black.
These are boots which can be worn two ways; folded down as shown in the piccie above or pulled up as knee boots. Hollie tends to wear hers folded down and I'm glad about this as knee-high boots can look a bit too tarty for such young girls. The sizing is spot on, Hollie is now a size nine in most of her shoes and the nine in this style fits beautifully. They felt a bit stiff when she first came to wear them but over the first few days pulling them on and off became much easier as the boot gained some flexibility.
The sole is a thick rubber, the grips don't look as deep as perhaps they should on a pair of child's boots but they definitely prevented Hollie from slipping and sliding all over the place during the snowy weather we had in December. The boots are also lovely and cosy, the knitted design keeps the warmth in and as they are also lined they are waterproof and comfortable on Hollie's feet. For someone so young she certainly knows her stuff when it comes to footwear so I will pass on the message to you that they "feel nice on my feet and I like them better than my Peppa boots because they are comfier".
I was surprised actually that they keep her feet bone dry as I have had knitted boots in the past which definitely didn't, she wore them in deep snow on Christmas Day (trying out the new sledge) and when she got home her socks were still perfectly dry even though the outside of the boots were drenched. She has since worn them in rain and even to jump in puddles with the same dry result so that's much better than I expected from a cheap pair of Shoe Zone boots.
One problem I have noticed is that the knitted texture of the boots has started picking up dirt and grime now, this is typical of anything that is black and wooly (think bobbly black jumpers) so I can't really knock this specific brand for that. It was OK at the beginning because I'd just pick off the hair and bits but now the actual stitching is beginning to show wear so I have a feeling they're not going to last too long. I was going to try washing them in the machine but then I remembered a pair of similar boots I had which literally fell to pieces on a delicates wash, so maybe I won't bother!
