Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Rubbish quality, last about 5 minutes

I bought these boots last winter as I wanted something that would keep my feet toasty warm, and while I liked the look of Ugg boots there was no way I could afford to spend that much on a pair of shoes. These look-a-like boots were only a tenner from Shoe Zone, bargain!

Unfortunately, it soon became apparent that sometimes you get what you pay for. The boots were certainly warm, but they were so badly made that the soles started to crack within a few weeks and while I wouldn't have expected these to be waterproof, they were so terrible at keeping my feet dry in even a light shower that I may as well have not been wearing them. I had a lot of wet socks! Within less than a month of having these boots they were completely wrecked, stained from watermarks, the soles cracked into about 10 pieces and the lining in tatters. Two of the attractive toggles on the side of the boot (which were what made me pick these specifically from the selection at Shoe Zone) had fallen off, so the boots were loose and floppy.

I gave up on wearing these as outdoor shoes and started wearing them as slippers instead. In the house it doesn't really matter if they're a bit battered, and away from any moisture they do keep my feet nice and warm. I do still go outside in them for very brief trips, such as picking up parcels or taking the dogs out for a toilet break, but for the most part they're for slobbing about indoors now.

So...if you're looking for a pair of warm boots to see you through the winter, don't even think about buying these! they're cheap but its a complete false economy. If however you want a nice comfy warm pair of slippers that you could wear to nip out in a pinch but wouldn't go further than about 20 feet in, then these could be perfect for you! As slippers, they have the benefit of a non-slippy sole that some people might find useful.

Summary: Not fit for purpose as winter boots
