== Shoe Zone Faux Fur Ladies Mule Slippers ==
I bought these slippers towards the end of last year , as a cheap pair to last till Christmas as I always receive new slippers from Father Christmas. I paid about £5 for them, and received free delivery from the website . 2-3 days after ordering they arrived and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they looked for the price , I was expecting cheap and maybe even a bit tacky looking but were just as nice as a more expensive department store slipper.
== The Slippers ==
I ordered the slippers in a Small which is suitable for a adult size 3-4 , I am a size 3 and there was certainly plenty of room without being too big and would fit a size 4 comfortably .
The slippers are a slip on mule style with a slight built up back , but not enough to secure your feet in them.
The outside is made of a lovely grey faux fur which is very soft and plush. there is a zigzag effect in the pattern along the front of the foot and a grey ribbon bow with jewel middle .
The inside are a cosy fleecy fur and definitely keep your feet warm and snug.
The soles are a thick padded covered foam , and have a plastic like bottom which is quite strong and fine for around the house , and a quick nip to the car in dry weather, but not strong enough for outdoor use all the time.
== The Smell Test ==
I do suffer from smelly feet in cheap shoes , and this is a problem with wearing slippers as they don't really allow your feet to breath . They do tend to soak up any smells and after a while they basically stink . These were pretty good , certainly not the worst , okay they weren't as good as a pair of Ugg slippers of course not , but for the price I was pleased.
== My Thoughts ==
I wear slippers all the time around the house as we have wooden floors , I usually get about 3-4 months out of pair before they need replacing , and these held up well . They were comfy and a good fit , and weren't too padded on the sole that if felt like you were moon-walking until you squashed them down.
The colour is a nice grey , easy on the eye and suitable for all ages, and the little decoration of bow and jewel are okay too , I had though when I ordered them that I would take that off if it was too gaudy but I didn't feel it was necessary once i saw it in real life.
For £5 you can't go wrong and with free delivery as well , makes them a bargain in my eyes.
Aww my trusty slippers. These were from Shoe Zone and were an absolute bargain at £5 I really like them and think that they look much more expensive that that and ended up buying 4 pair.
Me and my girly mates were going on an overnight trip and we had matching PJs but in different colours depending on our fav colours. Mine was purple, My best friend turquoise, the girl who had organised the do, pink and her sister, black. I decided that I was going to buy me and my bezzie a pair of these but thought It'd treat the other ladies too and they were all well chuffed. And the grey looked great with all our individual PJs. (accidently but luckily)
The outside of the slipper is a sequin laden zig-zag effect woolen grey pattern which reminds me of the beach after the tide has gone in. Also on the front is a cute grey bow which gives that added girly look to the slippers.
The inside of the slippers are a thick foam material covered in white faux fur, very comfy and cosy under foot.
The sole of the slipper is, as expected made of rubber and is thick enough to protect your feet and the slipper from spills within the house but I wouldnt recommend going to the bin in these as they are clearly just house slippers and whilst they look great, it is evident after a while that they are not the highest quality of shoe but saying that, I never buy slippers with the intention of keeping them for a long time so I was not disappointed when they started 'dipping' under my heel.
I have washed them a couple of times and they are fine but have lost some of their sparkle but the wooly top and the bow is still firmly in place and I still feel quite proud plodding round the house in these even in front of visitors.
I would definetly buy these again and would buy them as gifts at Christmas as I think they are super cute and as good as any other slippers I have had at this price.
==Shoe Zone Fluffy Slippers==
I seem to go through slippers like there is no tomorrow. I guess this is because I tend to have cold feet all year round and not only wear slippers but also wear bed socks when indoors. The slippers I get will often be worn outside in the garden for putting the washing out or to take the rubbish out so it is really no surprise that none of them seem to last very long.
I love my branded slippers and have a few pairs which have lasted me a very long time but these were expensive compared to most and I will often buy a cheap pair to mix it up a bit and to not cause too much wear to my more expensive ones. These Shoe Zone ones caught my eye as they were in the window of the shop and I can't help but be drawn to fluffy slippers that look as cosy as these ones did.
They were really very cheap at £4.99p when I think I paid £25 for my Animal slippers and they look super cute. They are a wonderful light grey colour on the outside and there is a creamy white type colour fur which is on the inside. They have a matching grey colour bow on the outside of each slipper and in the centre of the bow there is a large fake diamond stuck on. The fur of the slipper is made into a kind of zig zag stripe and sewn on in the fur are shimmery little sequins which give the slipper a bit of glitz and glam which is not noticeable at first glance or at least until the light catches them.
The slippers are a flat mule type of slipper but the foam with which they are made seemed very thick and luxurious at first. This said after a few weeks worth of wear, the foam soon became flattened and the slippers which were super cosy and comfortable at first became less comfortable and I was soon able to feel the hardness of the laminate floor beneath my feet.
The fur has kept the fluffiness and still looked god but a few of the sequins have since come loose and fallen away. The inside fur of the slipper being a lighter colour soon looked dirty and putting them in the washing machine probably made the sequins come loose but after a good shake the wash didn't affect the overall look of the fur.
The rubber sole of the slippers was not overly thick or clumpy which is ideal for house slippers but no so great when you try to wear them outside in the garden (not recommended). Although the slippers were a cheap price I have to say that they haven't really lasted too long. They still look okay but they really don't feel any where near as comfortable as I would like them to be.
I don't think I would be buying these particular slippers again because after a few months they really do need replacing. I am probably going to get another pair of cheap slippers but will probably opt for a different make and type. They fit the purpose for a while and I guess for the money you can't expect too much more. I think for these reasons a fair score of 3 out of 5 stars is in order and a slight recommendation if you are prepared to replace them after a few months.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
These slippers were part of a pampering present which Mark's mum bought me for Christmas, when we went shopping she told me to choose my own pair and I thought these were gorgeous as soon as I laid eyes on them in Shoe Zone.
They are a soft furry mule slipper, the outside being thick grey fur and the inner of the slippers are lined with a cosy white fur. The shape of the slipper is excellent for this cold weather as the front comes quite high up my foot, and the back is built up very slightly (but without losing the appeal of them being mules) to provide a bit extra comfort and warmth.
They have exactly the same appearance as you can see in the piccie above, but what you cannot make out are the sequins which are embedded into the fur. This gives them a bit of glitter when the light hits them, but doesn't make them garish or childish at all. The sequins don't drop out as far as I can tell, at least I haven't been finding them all over the house, and that's good news as the majority of slippers I've worn which feature sequins have made a right mess after a few days wear!
The slippers are soft and comfortable, I'm rarely out of them at the moment! The fur inside doesn't irritate my skin at all, again something worth mentioning as furry linings can make my feet itchy sometimes. The fur works to keep my feet lovely and warm, even the sole is cushioned well to add that little bit more warmth and cosiness when I am walking around the house.
I wouldn't recommend going outside in these slippers as the soles are not particularly hard wearing. They are rubber as opposed to fabric, but the feel of them tells me that if I were to start walking around on concrete they'd soon split or become damaged. For in the house though they're excellent, I'm very big on slippers for hygiene reasons so for me it's important to find a pair that I am going to feel comfortable in for long periods of time and these fit the bill perfectly.
The bow and clear jewel embellishment make the slippers look a bit dressier than they would without these little extras, I'm not usually one for fussy ribbons on slippers but I admit these look great. They are stitched on firmly and I doubt they'll ever come off without a large amount of pulling and tugging, which ain't going to happen if I've got anything to do with it. After all, they're MY slippers!
I love these slippers, they've got an old fashioned appeal which I like as the shape of them is slightly different to any other pair of slippers I own. And I own a good few! The rounded design makes them feel as though they are cocooning my feet and it's lovely to be able to take my outdoor shoes off and slip my tootsies into a pair of slippers which are so warm and inviting. The classic style of them also means that whatever dressing gown I am wearing that day I know it will compliment my slippers, sounds daft but I do like to be as co-ordinated as possible at all times!
