“ Brand: Shoe Zone / Type: Ballerina „
I buy a lot of the kids shoes in Shoe Zone, the adult range isn't so good but as far as cheap and cheerful childrens shoes go I don't think you can beat their prices. When I saw these grey ballerina pumps decorated with pink stars I ended up buying three pairs, one for each of my daughters.
The smallest size is an 8, and this was perfect for my three year old. In this size they look fab, the stars make the shoes look very girly and they are ideal for smaller girls. Alice is eleven, she's into the whole skinny jeans look and these do look brilliant with a pair of dark denims. She's got the lanky look to go with it so the ballerina style usually does go with what she wears. At fourteen I wasn't sure if Charlotte would entertain them, I don't think she was too impressed but she's worn the shoes a few times. Which is something, at least I didn't get the 'my mum's a twat' look.
The shoes themselves are just what I'd expect from a cheap pair of ballerina pumps. They have a very thin sole which doesn't provide any support for the feet, the shoe itself is well shaped to fit the sole though and that's important because this style of shoe is quite often so cheaply made that the part touching your little toe will rub on the floor and wear away in no time!
The upper is made out of what looks and feels like a cross between canvas and some cotton material, it feels tough to touch it but you just know the shoes aren't going to last long. The plastic inside feels and looks cheap, and I didn't tell her I noticed but the shiny plastic made Charlotte's feet absolutely stink because she didn't wear socks with them! Obviously, she's fourteen so isn't going to wear socks with this style of shoe so I usually make sure I buy her pumps which have a higher quality inner.
The sizes were all accurate for the kids, they range from a size 8 up to an adults size 6. I do think they are more suited for younger children though and Hollie does look the best in hers out of all three of my girls, saying that the style of shoe isn't particularly babyish so there's no reason why your teenager (or even yourself) couldn't wear them if you have the outfit to go with them.
