Advantages: comfy sole, nifty idea
Disadvantages: see review for details of the vicious attack on my toe!
In my teens I loved Skecher's shoes. They were always hip and funky. My mum would always moan that they were consistently on the expensive side but at the time I wasn't bothered as long as I got the shoes I wanted! Well that selfish teen has grown up into a woman who still has a bit of a love affair going on with the shoe shops. When I first started earning my own money I was really bad with it and would buy stupid things I didn't need and ended up with many pairs of shoes that I would rarely have the opportunity to wear!
When pregnant with our second child I in a mad hormonal state decided to get rid of things that were taking up space. I was ruthless! Baby finally arrived and once the household had calmed down and was back into our daily routines I realised what I had done.
I was missing some basic necessities such as sandals and I love sandals so I decided to keep an eye out for some good ones. There's still a bit of baby weight hanging around harassing me and my goal is to do more walking along with my dance workouts. I had seen the Skechers trainers that apparently help tone your leg and bum and also help with good posture. My mum is under strict orders to purchase them as my Christmas present (well, at least she'll know it's something I want and wouldn't be a waste of money). I went into a local shop to try them on so I could tell her what size and colour I want. Skechers sizes seem to run big and whilst the shop assistant was finding me a pair in my size I noticed that they also make a workout sandal! A closer inspection was required and so I tried these on too (buy a size smaller then you are and if you have narrow feet maybe try them on in a store first).

After going through the list I was pretty much sold. My Dooyoo miles were enough for me to get some Amazon vouchers and the Skechers are available on there ... I ordered my Amazon vouchers and two days later had my code ready to use. The sandals in my size and in black were going to cost £29.99 so with my £30 voucher all I had to pay was postage. I'm never going to complain about a bargain like that!
They arrived moments before the school run two weeks ago. I of course had to give them some wear! I had read the reviews about them and there were two main complaints. First was that the toes area was too long. I have always found that my feet slide forward in sandals and then my toes are hanging over the edge so a bit of length doesn't bother me at all. The second complaint is that the toe thong or whatever it's called (bit that goes between your toes) is ruff and rubs. I thought maybe these were people who didn't normally wear this type of shoe and were just not used to it but the blister along my second toe tells a different story. They only rubbed on my left foot for some reason. I've had little soft plastic bits that slide onto that part of the shoe before but I can't for the life of me remember where I got them from (if anyone knows please share the knowledge!).
Aside from the obvious attack on my second toe the sandals are comfy. It's too soon to tell if my left over baby weight will fall off and my legs will suddenly look like those of a supermodel but fingers crossed!
Leaving the toe bit out I think it was a good use of some Dooyoo miles, but if I can't find a solution to the attack on my poor defenceless second toe then these sandals might have to find a new home. I have been told that the Fit Flops are a bit more comfortable and the toe attack doesn't happen so if I can't get any of those plastic cover things I might do a switch as I still have some Dooyoo vouchers left. Bit of a waste of voucher but I can't wear shoes that hurt can I.
Good idea, comfy sole, evil toe thong ... Still love Skechers tho!
Update!: Scholl Gel Toe Separators have saved my poor toe from the abusive sandal!!!! yay!
